This is a awesome series and very nicely animated. Too bad it will only be 13 episodes! I hope the anime and manga gets licensed here soon (well at least the manga, so we can show the anime in 2008 :P).

Episode 4, when the official OP gets added in. Lots of discussion on this on 2ch about it. People wondering if it's because they didn't complete one, or they didn't want to spoil the characters... I'm pretty sure it's the second.
The final introduction for the characters were covered in this episode and, it's really closely done to the comic which makes me happy.
The OP and ED are probably the best OP and ED's I've ever seen up to this point.
It's probably my pick for best series of 2007 at this point. As long as the quality continues on, then all is fine. The humor is so dark even if it's performed in such a light hearted way, it's basically a darker version of Pani Poni with much more adult themes... great inside jokes and references, and such subtle humor. Another series I think will go over the heads of most Americans, so not a show I've been recommending to most people, but is great in overall quality.

Ah...I haven't watched past episode 1 of Pani Poni Dash!, so I wouldn't be able to tell much.
Zetsubou uses some of the same artistic effects they use in Hidamari, though - thus my post. Dunno if they pulled the same thing in PPD!.
Am I the only one that liked the unfinished opening? I thought it was genius.
Now it just feels so much like other openings.
Ah, Shinbo is at it again. Lovin' the face censors. I actually wanted to watch this because of the cast and Shinbo at first, but the comedy's got me hooked. Komori, Meru, and Matoi are my faves at the moment.

I watched the first two episodes, and I did not like it much at all. :/ It is funny, but I do not like comedy very much in general. I bet I'm the only person here that didn't like it. XD;

Ditto. I've kept up with them and have been completely satisfied from their choices.
I've been keeping up with the Zoku series/season/whatever myself but so far, I like the first one better. It's still cool with it's craziness, but I prefer the first one for some reason.
ACK! I keep forgetting to watch the second season!!
FYI We are going to marathon SZS.. hopefully the 2nd series if AFK catches up.

Anyways. Ep2, is genius. An entire episode that almost no one will understand unless they know Japanese history, and follow 2ch. Seriously, No wonder I never saw posts about Ep2 anywhere... all the people that watch it probably hadn't a damned clue what was going on.
