X-men vs SF is like... the worst tournament game ever... XD

Whoever lands 1 hit wins, or it becomes runaway for 99seconds with storm/mags/Sim, then tick amage with 2 seconds left.

I'm not very confident about a iidx tournament.  I do know that out of the fanime population there is couple iidx players including myself.  But my main concern is will there be enough people to enter the tourney for iidx?

I would go CvS 2, MvC2, DOA 4, Soul Calibur 3, and X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

My main concern is that... Orochi will win anyways, so what's the point?

Even though all I play are fighters now-a-days...

Good team tournament would be Rock Band. Halo has to be teams, since free for alls are too random and based on luck, coming across people already in a fight leads to a free kill(or double kill) and it's based on who the third person decides to shoot at first(which is basically always the case). If A and B are fighting, and C comes along, if C aims for B first, A has a chance at a kill and B gets screwed even if he's better than A and C(unless the margin is huge) by the time B dies A is already weakened so C gets a free kill.

X-Men vs SF is one of the worst tournament games in existance. Essentially, whoever gets the first hit... wins since everything is an infinite in that game,  and you can run away the entire rest of the match.

A good Fanime tournament line up would be something like...

Halo 3
Rock Band
SF:3s for an older technical fighter
Melty Blood:AC for a newer
T5:DR
VF5(LOL too bad everyone sucks at this so realistically it shouldn't be in the list)
Puzzle Fighter HD
OTHER(I'd vote something like... Senko no Ronde since it is a really good alternative type game, but no one really plays it in the states which is a shame. The idea for an alt. type game is to balance out the already usual types. So games like...

Senko no Ronde
Ace Combat 6
Phantasmagoria of Flower View
Twinkle Star Sprites

would be good as it tests a skill level that not only a lot of people would enjoy, but that isn't a typical skill so it lets non fighter/puzzle game/bemani players shine).

Hey, look.  There are a number of good VF5 players.  Here, and all around the world.  So, don't be saying straight-off that everyone who plays it sucks. Although, the VF5 scene in NorCal only consist of 5 people (roughly), in SolCal, there is a GREAT VF community there; consisting of (10+ people).  The overall competition there is better, but nonetheless, we have good players. Also, with the release of the 360 version, there will be more players than there was before, thus a better competition.

BTW, I'm sorry if you can't play VF.  It's a hard game. I know.

Psssst: Secret, I'm fairly certain I know more about the status of every fighting game out, better than you do seeing that I've been playing competitively for the past 10 years, and know basically everyone that's worth knowing.

I played VF4, and that was the last one, since no one really plays the game, outside of a handful of people, and in So Cal they all live a fairly large distance apart.

And even the best US VF players know that comparitively, they are trash compared to top competition.

Oh I totally forgot, Arcana Heart is out now, that could be a tournament game now too, except... LOL America sucks at that too.

Although, you played for 10 years, which for some reason you're proud of like its the highlight of your life; Putting on a maid costume and looking like a fag, doesn't give you super powers in 3S like you hoped it would.  Sorry, but I'm done with you. Have a nice day. :]

Even though this isn't really related to Fanime and you might not like what I'll bring up, but I just can't help it since theres a comparison. I feel the same about how America competes against other countrys in sports, like america loses to asia at baseball, basketball, and tennis but theres one sport asia can't beat us at: Football. I've noticed it really, just either watch asians play football or just try to remember when  was the last time you saw a asain play football. ho

EDIT: Oh yeah, this is Pyron, I was using her computer since mine is somewhere in the room and I need to find the plug for it, and I forgot to sign her out and what not.

America is better than Asia in baseball... but uh, yeah, besides the point.

Uhm, despite me clearly being the best 3S player that was at Fanime? 50+ wins with three different characters at three very different times at the con, 2 of the character I don't even really use that often/well(Hugo/Dudley)? I was mostly playing Necro at Fanime, since I just started playing Necro prior to the con, and he's such a fun character(I just wish his retarded defense didn't make him such a horrible character ;_; )

I seriously love people like you, who clearly DON'T play any game very well, and think reading forums make them good, without any actual understanding of the game(PS... I know about the fighting games I don't play, based on the fact that I want to know the games well enough to judge whether or not I want to play them).

But yup, go ahead and shoot your mouth about how you obviously think you know more than I. How about this, I will play you in 20 different fighting games, and I guarantee I'll beat you in 18+ of them in a race to 10. Because obviously, you should be able to beat me in at least 3 of them if you come close to what you are trying to state here. I'd even be willing to allow you to pick my characters.

Melty Blood AC for sure. If need be, I'll even run it. Most of the WC MBAC players already know my history of being able to run tournaments/brackets.

Note: Order
1st: Melty Blood AC (Possibly Actress again, but all I know is it comes out in 2008. Not sure of the month or if it will get a PC port by Fanime).
2nd: Senko no Ronde (Pyron Ikari, you have no idea how happy you made me by suggesting this title).
3rd: Soul Calibur 3/4
4th: Halo 3

Actress Again will probably come out like a month before Fanime. It's planned for Japanese Arcade release in Spring 2008.
