Per night, obviously.
Ohhh bother lol.
Alright, time to work then lol.
I just found that out last night, thanks :)
I really should get a hotel next year. I'm tired of communiting from SF each day, especially since I had to drive every day.
^___^ I'm already booked. Woo hoo~!
Just finished making my reservation at the Hilton. Pretty good deal at $109 a night.

I think it means that it's only available through the night of the 25th, thusly you would leave/check-out on the 26th.
Blah... I dont see the Hilton reservation.. meaning that they're all booked.
Game over. I guess I'll be at the Marriott again =P

How many people you were trying to book and when are you booking for the Hilton? When I tried it, if you book on the 23rd to 26th, I can see the listing for it. I guess booking from 22nd to 26th is sold out. ^^ Good thing I booked when it first went on.

XD~! I know. That was fast! Always read the warning. Booked your room soon or it will be gone. ^^b
Is it sad that I'm equally excited about my hotel room as I am about the rest of fanime? I mean I LOVE fanime, but I also love my big room, comfy bed and bathroom all to my self. 4 days when NO ONE bothers me about silly things in the real world. A safe place...sigh. I need it to be May now. :P
Already booked for the Hilton...YAY!
I'm glad I don't need a room on the 22nd. Saves me money and it's available.

Only for the 22nd. If you do the 23rd - 26th, you can book the Hilton.
Yeah, I had to book my hotel for the 22nd because I would miss half the day on Friday just driving up from Southern Cali. I guess I wont be seeing you guys in the same hotel =(
I've got a room at the Marriott, which is where I stayed in 2005. Last year we were in the Hilton and I guess the only complaint I had was that the video rooms were in the Marriott and I had to go all the way to the other hotel for the live action films.
But we DID get a fridge, so that was all right!
It won't even let me access the page. There's a page error.
edit. NEVERMIND. It finally worked for me and I have my room reserved now. : ]
Is there any chance that more room will open in the future? My sister got her room for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Hilton (YAY! ;D ). But she wants to arrive on Thursday and check out on Tuesday morning. She won't stay anywhere but the Hilton. She's willing to pay the higher rate the Hilton would charge for Thursday and Monday night, but how does she go about making that reservation in conjunction with her fanime housing reservation? Or should she just wait to see if room opens for those two days?
Sorry to be a pest. Thank you in advance for any help or information you can offer.
I reserved my room just yesterday. Thanks mom! :)
Question: Whats going on about the Crowne Plaza? I don't see it in the booking page.

We didn't sign contracts this year with the Crowne Plaza. Instead, we increased the room booking blocks at the other hotels we had to make up for it.

There are sh*t load of rooms available at all the hotels, you should have a problem booking a room or a series of rooms.
Call CMR and revise your reservation or you can do it on-line through the FanimeCon Hotel reservation system. Just use your reservation code and add the additional dates that you are looking for.
The rates for her room are good from 5/21 to 5/27.
Does that help?

Actually we are still talking to the Crowne and hopefully they will realize they need to work with us and get us a contract soon, like by the end of the month. We are attempting to book the entire hotel room block that they have, but they would like to hold out a larger slice to sell it after the block closes and can charge a higher rate to those getting their rooms later in the year.

Quick question: what is the advantage of going through Fanime for the reservations, besides the rate? The first year I stayed, I used my Marriott membership points for reservations and managed to get one of the rooms free, which balanced out the price on the other rooms.
I think at AX a year or so back that you had to have a room reserved through their reservation system in order to be able to pick up tickets for the events, but if you had reserved the rooms on your own, you were limited in to what tickets you could get. Does Fanime have a restriction like that, or some benefit to using the reservation system?

Excellcent question...
You can't book a hotel room directly with the hotels, they should refuse you and redirect you to the CMR call center, if not the FanimeCon web site. If we catch the hotel's taking reservations, we get to hit them up along side the head with our CLUE-BY-FOUR.
Does that help?

Has anyone ever stayed at The Sainte Claire? It seems like the cheapest price for 2 bedded rooms and I want to know if the few dollars less is worth the walking distance/slight inconvenience.

I used it last year. It's just across the street. It'll take you just a little more time to get there, but I found no problem with it. It's not like it's going to be raining or anything because it's summer. It truly is only a
slight inconvenience.
I just want to know as soon as the fairmont suites go up.
Those rooms are NICE...and the price is nice too. ^_^

I stayed at the Sainte Claire for the last 3 years and will do so again this year. Yes, you have to walk across the street, but it's no big deal. The hotel is lovely, plus there's free internet and a fridge!
When I tried to reserve at the Marriot for thursday through tuesday, it said no rooms were available. So I signed up for thursday through monday. I then tried to go in an edit my reservation like Passing the Buck suggested, and it indeed showed tuesday available, but I got an error on the page when I hit next:

Yes! It's just a set price per day (which I believe is cheaper for Fanime people). You just call down or ask for your car at the front desk, and they bring it right to the front door.

had to park in valet.. :(

Oooh, is that why they randomly tried to charge me a valet fee when I self-parked the entire time? I marched down there and had them taken the 54 dollar valet charge off.
You know, when I registered, the system wouldnt' allow me to register for the duration of my nights consecutively at certain but it shows that those days are now available where they weren't before (at a lower price) and i've already made my reservations. So, that aside, if I want to change reservations I'd have to cancel the current reservations and remake reservations at the hotel with the lower pricing right?

Done and done. This will be my third year in a row at the Marriot.. their beds are just too comfortable to pass up.
Hopefully, I won't have to argue with Marriot staff in order for me to get my free Internet access taken care of ;)

No. They are two different hotels, wasn't sure if you could modify rooms for different hotels. As it is, I currently have all my consecutive days booked at one hotel because they weren't available at the hotel I initially wanted in the first place. I didn't want to move back and forth between hotels as that would be a hassle, especially if you are lugging prints and whatnot around.

I'm not sure about the Hilton for Fanime, but alot of con hotels will give you the con rate for the night before and the last day of the con ie the nights your sis is talking about.
question... this may b a stupid question for some but i'll ask anyway... (my first con ever, cut me some slack)
when paying in the hotel do i need to bring anything to prove that im a con goer (for the con discount) or do they have it in their system? coz im hella nervous that they might charge me 150 sumthin bucks per night instead of the $85... help me out.... ??? ??? ???

Don't worry about it. ^_^
When you make your reservation online with CMR, it registers in the Hilton's database as such. Your nightly rate is saved and that's the same reservation you'll have when you get there. By registering through CMR you are telling the hotel in question that you are a con-goer. That's the only real security check in place as far as that goes. I'm curious as to whether or not Craige/others have discovered non-Fanime goers abusing the CMR rates. I wouldn't be surprised.
In any case, don't worry about it. Once you've made your reservation, the amount they tell you in the email is the amount you'll pay when you get there (barring additional expenses e.g room service)

No problem. Also, they don't charge you when you reserve your room, but keep in mind that whoever has the room reserved, the hotel collects a deposit of 50 dollars/night upon check-in. This is typically done on the credit card that you use to check in with. The charge is refunded within a matter of days, but it is held in case you accumulate charges resulting from room service, or if you damage any of their furniture.
Just keep that in mind, that you (or whoever is charging the room) should have enough for the room charge +150 dollars for the deposit.

alryt... i'll rememver that.. thanks again ur a lifesaver!
I've got a question about the name the room is reserved under. I'm going with 3 other people. One of those persons reserved the room for our group, but also filled in our names as roommates. There is a strong possibility that the person who did the reserving will now be arriving much later than the rest of us. Will we be able to check into the room or should we contact housing and have it changed to someone else? If so, how far in advance should we do this; the person in question may not know his schedule until the beginning of May or later. The rest of us just want to make sure that we can get into the room at check-in time and don't have to wait with our luggage until that night. Thanks!
Is anyone still looking for a roommate? If so:
Male, 21, will pay half for all weekend.
Kthxbai ;o
Hey guys, I have a room at the Hilton for Fanime, all 4 days, blah blah blah...
I'm pretty sure I have space to fill, so get in touch!
So far the group is 18-22 male/female clean out going fun people, and if you fit in with that, awesome! No smoking in the room, drinking is fine if you keep it under control, and so on. Everyone in this room wants to have fun, so if you're quiet and plan on keeping to yourself for the whole con this probably isn't the room for you. However... if you're out going, and want to have an awesome time, then this probably IS the room for you!
You're welcome to get in touch even if you're quiet, but I'm just warning you, people will probably try to talk to you. Scary right? :P
