So I'm old school and start looking up an (playstation 1 game) called Parasite Eve.
And maybe I was under a rock when it was announced at TGS 2007, but I didnt realize that a 'not a [Pe] sequel' called " the 3rd Birthday "

I was look cool. I liked this series... (click here to read more)...
Then I was like aww... its gonna be on a cell phone based game?
course this isnt the first game to jump consoles for a sequel related game.
I was also sad to find out that Ace Combat 6 (another cool flight/action sim) is 'only' on Xbox 360...
So what do you guys think? So I just not gripe about games jumping platforms and media and just buy/emulate everything? :P
Just need to find that money tree first...
Also please mention random games/sequels that are worth checking out...
Now back to more after x-mas sales. :)
I don't entirely mind if it is at least still on a system I own.
However, its always annoying when it jumps to say "newer" systems and isn't on any that I own.
Say Devil May Cry 4. D: I believe its only coming out on Ps3, Xbox360 and PC. I won't play it on PC and I own neither system.
But yeah, games jumping to cell phones are annoying. I don't do cell phone games out of principle. My cell phone is for calling; none of this other stuff.

yea, i remember hearing that announcement on the new PE being a cellphone game....cruel, so cruel.
games(that were originally console-exclusive) jumping over to other systems is somewhat common nowadays.
Resident Evil was always on the Sony bandwagon since the first game(in actuality, RE went over to the sega saturn after the first game came out on PS1), but then jumped ship back in '04(or was it '05?) to Gamecube for RE4, which was originally supposed to be a console-exclusive; once capcom/sony saw how well it did(the thing sold like gangbusters, man!!), they ported it over to PS2 with the assignment: ada sidestory, and RE5 is now coming out on both PS3 and 360.
Ninja Gaiden was originally meant just for the Xbox platform; after it was re-released under the NG: Black moniker(containing new monsters and the content from both Hurricane Packs), it was brought over to PS3 under the Sigma subtitle(Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming out on 360 only, but that could change). Devil May Cry is the most recent game series to join this trend, with DMC4 coming out on PS3, 360 and PC(like sunara said).
Some don't like the idea, but it has the upside of (insert game here) being available on a current system where it was not available before in the last generation.
I kiinda like it when series go console-jumping, actually. Gives people a reason to try the other side of the fence in consoles. It also feels like sharing the wealth. I mean, if you're poor enough to only have one console and you don't have friends with different consoles, it's tough. But I think it's more or less good all-around:
- It's good for the series because it gives creators a chance to try out a different approach that might work better on the new console, thereby providing more variation and innovation in the series.
- Nobody is left out of a good series that makes it to all consoles.
- It's good for the economy because it forces people to buy more consoles and play other stuff. ;)
- It's good for people with only one console because they have to try out other games for their console rather than just sticking to the same series.
- It's good for developers who get a wider audience for their games. But it's also bad for them because they have to invest more money on doing basic programming for a different platform, and they can't reuse all their code. As long as they stick just to the most popular console, though, that's not an issue.
I don't think cell phones are established as a proper console yet, though. The thing with consoles (as opposed to PC) is that the hardware is extremely consistent, so games can be designed knowing exactly what they're getting into. PCs are at least powerful enough to be able to play at limited settings, and they have a uniform interface, mostly the same buttons, etc. Cell phones? Not so much. And people have things like their phone plan to consider in choosing which phone they use, so it's not like you can easily choose to get a phone that'll play certain games.

thank god for roms.. its the only way to actually play some cellphone games.. seriously. what gives me a huge dissadvantage of this was that not only the games arrived on a cellphone but it arrives on a SPECIFIC CArrier!!!!
