How long did it take you make buy/make.
Well I took a 2 months, and you must be thinkin' "wow that long" and I say, well you try to find the right jacket for the right price on eBay, it was harder than I thought. but if I had the jacker, it would of taken me about 15 minutes to complete. The mask to 10 and finding the right hat took five.
Okay your turn.
Being a total newbie, I decided to buy my cosplay, otherwise it would look like crap. xD I can't sew, but I wanna learn how to for the future.
Tobi Mask: Cost 48$ and 12 days to ship(from Italy).
Akatsuki Coat: The coat came with the Itachi ring, anti-Konoha headband, and the shoes, and it cost $90. About a day to ship. :3
I need some black clothing for underneath, which is very easy to find, also a wig. :B But otherwise than that, I'm done!
Damn, all together it cost me $12.00 to make mine, though I have to order a new hat, last years was to small. *I gots a big ol' head*
e-e; sheesh. That's one of the reasons I wanted to make my cosplay. But I think it wouldn't have been worth it. xD;; I saw some other peeps who made Akatsuki coats and said that the cloth really adds up.
or get a big black over coat and get someone to sow the clouds on. This is off the top of my head, and I always make my outfit.
umm since im a complete and uter freak it only relay takes me a day or 2 to complete a costume.....
but normaly its a day here and a day there so in all it takes a month or so because i have to find all the parts and jsut geting to the fabric store is a pain. but normaly im working on 5 or 6 costumes at a time right now im hitting my end of the ones im making for this year so yeah any where from 1 day to a month or 2 just to get everything together ^_^

8 outfits, you are a trooper!
well this year i think i made more like....12 of varying dificulty ^_^ my count is starting after last fanime
So like for the 8 outfits are you going to switch outfits like all the time or maybe change costumes right in the middle of for example the dealers room?
ah no iv actualy narrowed it down to 5 costumes and normaly what i do is rush back to my hotel room and change there but my goal is to have it narrowed down to 4 by the time the con comes so no changing midday cause the elivators take up alot of time geting to your room and getting back down
Cool, I myself just go with one outfit.
And I was kidding about then dealer room thing...
yeah sadly knowing me i might try and towel change to save time (yaknow wrap a towel around what counts and do it that way) that is if i had a towel wich i wont so the world will be safe ^_^
it took me about a month to make mine!
White Sasuke Shorts: about 3 days
Sasuke shirt: long time cuze i kept screwing up on the Uchiha symbol but I finally got it! YAYZ
Um..well my Snowtrooper has taken a while, mainly because I didn't have the money to buy the armor until recently (bought the boots and a couple other things back in like..September or October) so it'll be done by the end of March...not sure if that time between my boots and armor would count, but still has taken a while regardless.
MY Resident Evil 4 Merchant costume only took a couple of minutes. I was like, "I bet I have enough stuff to pull together this costume." And sure enough, I had enough stray costume parts that it worked. Trench coat + black pants + black shirt + bandanna + leftover grim reaper hood + random game and anime accessories + safety pins for tacking in the "merchandise" = complete costume!
I currently lack the skills to make my costumes, so I buy them. My original Sasuke Uchiha actually took the longest, because I didn't buy it all at once. I bought the wig, headband, shirt, and armwarmers seperately, then turned a pair of white pants into shorts. So it took about....2 months? But usually, I get my costumes fast. It all depends on where you buy them. I've used the same site for my Shippuuden Sasuke and my Haku, and both times I had it within 4 days =D
My Rinoa cosplay took 5 hours to make; a whole hour of that was eaten up by the 3-D feather wings, which had to be stitched by hand.
Total cost?
Duster(which I mod'd): owned already
Shirt: owned already
Shorts: $5-ish
Boots: owned already
Skirt fabric: $3-ish
Ribbon: $2-ish
Buttons: $0.50
Wing Construction: $4-ish
Total: $14.50
Not too shabby! :D Maybe a little lame though, since it's the same one I used last year. ::)
