That's right folks I'm doing photo shoots again this year since I had such a blast doing it last year! Once again the shoots will be free (considering that I still consider myself an amateur photographer). I might create a photo book like I did last year. Hopefully I will have an even better camera this year too.
So what do you get out of it? You get copies of all of the photos I take in their original unaltered state no watermarks or borders or photoshoping, just copies of the files directly from my camera. You are free to do as you please with these photos (although I do request that you contact me if you wish to publish the photos).

DOUBLE EDIT: Since both Friday and Saturday are now booked up I am going to institute an alternates list for those days. If someone doesn't show for their shoot (10 minutes late with no contact) or a shoot has to be cut short for whatever reason I will call people on the alternates list, starting with whomever signs up first. This means that you could be called at anytime on that day. If you are unavailable/don't answer I'll keep on going down the list. I also might call you if I decide I don't want my break from 3:30-4.
Sign ups are generally first come first serve, however groups, people who contacted me ahead of time, and anyone who had a photo shoot with me last year has priority. Also I reserve the right to change this schedual depending on when Musicfest Starts. If all of the slots get reserved way before the con starts I might add some more times. Also I might be available for shoots on Thursday and Monday. Please contact me if you want a shoot on one of those days.

I will provide a photo release form for a parent/guardian to sign either ahead of time or at the con. I know this "sucks" but it is to cover my own liabilities.

If you have a LOT of costumes/variations (say more than I could accommodate during the con) and you live in the Santa Cruz/San Jose area I am willing to meet up with you for an extended photo shoot before or after the con (this probably would involve a fee though. PM or instant message me if you are interested.)

Hmm.. Sounds interesting. I'm debuting a new lolita costume at the con and am looking to have some good photos of it taken. However, the costume can be worn in 5 different ways. If you have any questions, please PM me. I don't want to reveal the costume yet.

This seems really cool however, 30 pictures in 30 minutes? xD That means i gotta use my brain to think of poses D:, Sephiroth has his trademark poses but ... 13th squad Captain Ukitake (Bleach) doesnt have very much, i mean hes deadly ill and makes minimal appearances XD.
But ill definately think about it :D

If you can't think of poses I usually can help you figure out good poses (might not necessarily be character specific, but will serve to hopefully make you and your costume look good). Also I usually move around a bit so you have lots of different backgrounds to accentuate/balance/counter-point your look.
30 pictures is a good estimate, although I usually take multiple photos of each pose/location then give you the photos that look best. Most photo shoots clocked in at around 20-30 photos last year. I hope to be a bit more prolific this year.
If you can help me think of poses after my ideas exhaust then i wouldnt mind pictures being taken (and if you do somehow make a profit off them, more power to you man! :D).
I got Sephiroth from FFVII and Jyuushiro Ukitake from Bleach. If this is the case i might book a day for each (30 minutes eh? Well worth it. You take good pics btw :D).
I'm going to talk to my cosplay group about this offer as we never seem to be able to get good group shoots together as we're always apart doing our own things. Do you already have a time table planned out for these shoots or are they arranged on a case-to-case basis.
wow, that's brilliant and I would love to have an actual photo shoot done of one of my cosplays. As this year I'm not going with anyone so they can't take my picture in my costumes >.< and last years memory card took a dump on me before I could download my pictures >.<

I don't have any time tables planned out just yet, although the bulk of the shoots will happen in the afternoon when the light is less harsh. I'll have a better idea of when the shoots will occur closer to the con.

Wonderful photos. I would like to sign up for a session too. I'm pretty sure I'll be wandering around by myself most of the time so there's no one to take pics, but I'm excited about my new costume for this year and would like it photographed. I'll probably need help with posing though (cause I suck at it).
Ooo. If I get my evil (wig-styling, heavily armored) costume done in time, I'd love to snag a time. (And if not, I'll break out a different costume. ;D )

I have a general idea of what looks good, the poses that I suggest might not be character specific but they should serve to make you and your costume appear nice.
I've definitely got a potential interest in this depending on how the costume(s) I work on turn out.
I might have anywhere from 1-3 costumes if you have room. (2 potentially for myself, one for my sister.)
I'll keep an eye out and have more specifics on what I've got when we get a bit closer to the Con if you're willing. : D

Mana? You'll have to excuse me my knowledge of specific characters is a little lacking (especially if it's from recent series). I do know the convention center, and the surrounding area fairly well so I'm sure I can figure out a place that suits the character and costume.
Did you mean the 4:30-5 slot on Friday?
And please, you don't have to do anything for me. I offer this for free, getting to meet new people and photograph cool costumes are more than enough payment. :)

Hmm probably a more urban environment for a character like that. I have a couple of places in mind already.

Wouldn't work for our gathering but I had a suggestion for other people's photoshoots if they were up for it, if you go to MacDonalds and keep walking down that way you'll hit San Jose State University =) lot of photo ops there, the library on campus has bamboo near it,but that's on the other side so it might be a bit too far. You can probably find a few pictures if you google or if anyone really wants I could take a few shots of the area since I live on campus...heh I don't have to move out until after Fanime XD

Ooh I had forgotten about the campus. Hmm I might have to schedule a day to tour the campus. Luckily I still look like a college student. :D
The only problem is that if I have a photoshoot immediately after I'd have to cut the shoot short, so I could have time to walk back to the convention center. I'll definitely keep the campus in mind though.

Is 2:30 on Sunday ok? I have the Shonen Jump Gathering at 2:00, but even if it's not over by then I'll have had enough time to take a few pics before I meet up with you. Just tell me where to meet you and I'll be there.

2:30-3 on Sunday is fine. And the default meeting spot is in front of the main entrance to the convention center, near the fountains.
And to everyone else there is only one slot left open on Saturday!
I might open up two more slots, but I'd like to wait until the musicfest schedule comes out to make that decision.

Hola! Could you put me down for Friday at 3:30pm?? I would do the second slot, but i dont want to rush myself getting up there and be late. Though im usually there before 1pm....if the spot isnt filled by the time Fanime comes around ill make sure with you if its okay to change. If not no biggie :D

Bring as many people as you'd like. :D Just remember that the more people you bring the less time each individual will have for single shots.

Well I have figured out that I will be at the con for pre-reg pick up on Thursday. If anyone is interested I'll be able to do one or two shoots, however when the shoots occur will be based entirely upon how long the line is.

That's right folks I'm doing photo shoots again this year since I had such a blast doing it last year! Once again the shoots will be free (considering that I still consider myself an amateur photographer). I might create a photo book like I did last year. Hopefully I will have an even better camera this year too.
So what do you get out of it? You get copies of all of the photos I take in their original unaltered state no watermarks or borders or photoshoping, just copies of the files directly from my camera. You are free to do as you please with these photos (although I do request that you contact me if you wish to publish the photos).
However (hey you knew there had to be a catch right?) I will maintain copyright and publishing rights to the photos. What does that mean? It means if I want to publish the photos for profit in future I will have the right to do so (although I will contact you and obtain permission if I do).

DOUBLE EDIT: Since both Friday and Saturday are now booked up I am going to institute an alternates list for those days. If someone doesn't show for their shoot (10 minutes late with no contact) or a shoot has to be cut short for whatever reason I will call people on the alternates list, starting with whomever signs up first. This means that you could be called at anytime on that day. If you are unavailable/don't answer I'll keep on going down the list. I also might call you if I decide I don't want my break from 3:30-4.
Sign ups are generally first come first serve, however groups, people who contacted me ahead of time, and anyone who had a photo shoot with me last year has priority. Also I reserve the right to change this schedual depending on when Musicfest Starts. If all of the slots get reserved way before the con starts I might add some more times. Also I might be available for shoots on Thursday and Monday. Please contact me if you want a shoot on one of those days.

I should probably mention this: while I enjoy working with everyone if you are under 18 I would prefer to have parent/guardian permission before doing a shoot. Mainly because I do post many of my favorite photos on the web for everyone to see and I don't want an angry parent contacting me about publishing photos of their son/daughter to the internet without their permission. I will provide a photo release form for a parent/guardian to sign either ahead of time or at the con. I know this "sucks" but it is to cover my own liabilities.
Sessions can be extended for individuals with more than one costume. Multiple sessions can also be booked if you will be wearing different costumes on different days. If you have a LOT of costumes/variations (say more than I could accommodate during the con) and you live in the Santa Cruz/San Jose area I am willing to meet up with you for an extended photo shoot before or after the con (this probably would involve a fee though. PM or instant message me if you are interested.)

For an amateur photographer, IamTetsuo-san is an excellent photographer who was very nice and polite during our photoshoot! I have to admit, our (my model partner and I) costumes weren't good at all at the time of the photoshoot (last minute @_@'), yet he didn't rush us through the photoshoot and took the time to give us multiple shots that were all really nice. :3 Everyone emphasizes quality over quantity, but IamTetsuo achieved both. I'd definitely book a photoshoot with him again if given the opportunity.
