lets see where you guys are staying for the con :)
oh and i will be staying a the Montgomery.

Like the last couple of years, I'll be staying at the San Jose Marriott that's connected to the convention center.

This will be my first time at Fanime and I'll be staying at the Marriot.

I'll be staying at the Hilton as usual.

This will be my first Fanime @ the Marriot, last year I was at the Crowne Plaza

Hilton...I LOVE the Hilton

Montgomery because all the other places are full.

I tried the Marriott last year....didnt like it....so im back at the HILTON!! YAY!! :D

A single at the Marriot again!  :D

Although the elevators there make me queesy for some reason.  And is it really necessary to have THAT many pillows on the bed?

In previous years, though, it's been the marriott. Though last year we were at the one across the street from the marriott, the...I dont remember what it's called.

My thoughts EXACTLY!! XD  Thought i was going to drown in a sea of fluffy pillows! But it was indeed a comfy bed ::nod nod::

hopefully not all at the same time... otherwise that sounds odd, fun, messy, and dangerous...  :P

Bed + ashtray = ok
Hot tub + ashtray = ok
Bed + hot tub = ...not so much.

i'm staying at the saint claire with 3 of my other friends.

Last year, I stayed at the Hilton and the year before that, the mariott. I liked the Hilton more than the Mariott.

Yeah I know, the room I'm getting in a one bed room and my roommates called it, but sleeping would be the thing I would be doing thr least, I sleep like 4-5 hours at the con and my Bro-clock wakes me u and I have the energy of 10 Laughing Men!

This will be my first year attending Fanime and I'll be staying at the Hilton.

Yeah, they allow smoking anywhere in the room. It's not as if they'd know anyways.

btw, does anyone know if marriott has a designated check out time and check in time for rooms?  I remember when I stayed at Circus Circus hotel in las vegas they told us we couldn't check in until 11am and had to check out by 11am the day we left.  I was wondering if other hotels, especially the marriott, are like that, too.

I've stayed at the Sainte Claire for the last 3 years. My firends and I usually arrive around noon. Twice we were able to check in right away; last year we had to stow our luggage until about 3 or 4pm because they were behind on room cleaning. If this happens, I think most of the hotels will put your luggage in a safe place for you until you can check in, so you can still pick up your badge and wander around the con without worries.

Also, if you're anticipating arriving earlier than check-in (Check-in time officially at the Hilton is 4pm, I think it's about the same at the Marriott, though they will allow you earlier if there's space), you can call a few days before and have them make a note. That way if a room is available before official check in time, they will hold it for you if they can. I'm leaving Montreal around 6 AM and arriving in San Jose at 12:30, I am going to be in desperate need of a nap, so I plan do to this.

I know it's not the official policy, but Hilton let me check in at 10:00 a.m. last year.

Nice! They let me check in around 1:30 last year. Usually, so long as there's a room that's clean and suits your reservation, they'll let you have it. There's just no guarantee they'll all be clean before 4:00.

I'm in Felton, but yeah I don't really want to make the trip there and back each night.  Much easier to just stumble into my hotel room and crash, then have an early (HA!) start the next day.

Because I am so lame (and I've never been to No Cal) I'll be at the Ramada (19-22) for the first half then the Marriott (22-26) I may an extra day because...well I dont want to get up at 7am to go to the Train station to go back to So.Cal..plus I wanna have fun at the Black and White Ball...

I'm staying at the Crowne Plaza..was hoping to get a room at the Marriot or Hilton but there weren't any two bed rooms for some of the nights I needed when I reserved..oh well.

Happy Joy!  I was on the waiting list for Monday night at the Hilton, I just found out that a room opened up and I have my hotel room thru Tuesday morning!  YAY!  I get to be there for ALL of fanime this year!  I'll be there before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, and we're leaving sometime Tuesday morning.  YAHOO!!!!  OK so I'm paying almost as much for that stay as I do for a whole month in my apartment, but it's also much more fun then staying in my apartment!   ;D

I'm in the Marriott. I've been staying there since 2005. The only year I was in the Hilton was 2006.

I only live in Sunnyvale, so at home, boo.  I have no nerdy friends with which to room.  :P

I stayed in the Hilton last year, but I noticed the Marriot was far closer to where I was spending most of my time; the Hilton also didn't have rooms for Monday night, so that was out. Staying in the Marriott this year. ^^

Don't feel bad. My crew of people are staying at 3 different hotels. One each night we will be there, one night at the Crowne, one at the Marriot and one at the Hilton. We wanted to try to be in the convention center as much as possible which is why we didn't get all three nights at one of the ones surronding the convention center, but we weren't fortunate enough to get the Marriot or Hilton for consecutive days. I got the hotels pretty early too, not early enough I guess though. Something I'll remember for next year's Fanime. We're also taking the train there and back, but we're not making quite as far a trip as your are. We're just coming from about 2 hours North of Sacramento.

I pretty much have my room booked for the Hilton. It has this nice homely feeling that I can't seem to find in any other hotel...

ill be at the Hilton friday through monday. first time in like the 6 yrs i've been going to fanime ill actually be there for all four days XD (never been to day 1)

Marriot, we stayed there last year, liked it more than the Hilton, and I'll be there from thursday night to monday afternoon. :D

I started at the Marriott a couple years, then the Hilton a couple years and then last year we stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Between the 3, the Marriott is the one we like the most, so we are going back to there this year ^^ And the room service food is yummy too ;) I also think in terms of convenience, the Marriott was ideal as well.
