Title: Got an important question.
Post by: VampireAlucard on April 24, 2008, 07:04:29 PM
Alright, so I noticed that my California state ID expires on my birthday next month, on the 9th and at this point even if I were to go get another ID it wouldn't come in the mail before Fanime. I've never been to Fanime before so I don't know the answer to my question. What I want to know is: Can I still pick up my badge with my California ID even though it will be outdated or will they not let me do that? Hopefully I can because it's the only picture ID I've got (no License yet) since I doubt even if I went to the DMV tomorrow and got a new ID it would be here in time.

Since the ID takes 3-6 weeks... You should apply for it anyways just in case it makes it, I've heard the process is really fast... But still. Perhaps use your passport?

This should be posted in Registration thread.. But you should try emailing [registration at fanime.com] for better inquiry about it.

Off the registration page:

Please note that it is not impossible to pickup your badge without a government ID, but the process is time consuming and will impact other members' wait in line.

So basically, if all else fails you can still get your badge.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get your badge, it is a california government issued id. Albeit a little outdated but it is still an id nonetheless

They required a valid government ID, I don't think expired IDs fall into this category...
But I'm not really sure, they might let it go.

Well hopefully they do, I am probably still going to go to the DMV and get a new ID and hope it comes by then.

Sorry about posting this in the wrong place. I should've looked around a bit better. Thanks for the responses everyone.

KyraEnsui: Thanks for the email, I'll go ahead and email them and ask about it.
