So... last year I reunited (unintentionally, but whatever) April Wong (relatively well known, also goes by Neko) with her long lost friend (seriously) Kitty. April cried, as anyone might in that situation, and most people who were in the room (Chris/Tidus') understood the situation. It seems though that one sad lonely Asian guy did not.
I'm not sure what he thought the situation was, but it seems he thinks I did something mean to make April cry. As such, the lonely sad little guy that he is, he wants to start some shit (the word stab was mentioned) to avenge April, and perhaps win her heart? I'm not really sure about the situation, but it's friggin' lame.
The description I got was dark Asian, fat, wavy medium length hair, and a fan name that ends in -suke. This stabbing was discussed at a board gathering a month and a bit ago, so it seems pretty likely that one of the first few people to read this will know who he is. It would be to everyone's service to let him know what actually happened, you may feel free to get in touch with April and confirm my story.
As for you, Mr. Lonely Asian Guy? This is premeditated, and this post can serve as a record of that. It means I'm able to legally do anything within my power to defend myself, and you'll be the one in legal limbo. I'd like at least an apology, because I will find out who you are, and a restraining order wouldn't be hard to get given the witnesses I have and the situation. A restraining order could easily stop you from entering the Fanime grounds, and never getting to go to Fanime again certainly seems like it would ruin your already pathetic life.
As for the mods? George, we've had our trouble in the past, but I hope that's behind us, this is pretty serious. This is exactly where the post belongs as it's very convention related, after all, does Fanime really want a list of events that includes stabbing? Probably not.
Even if they were just talking trash, trying to act like they were hard or something; there's a difference between talking trash and expressing an intent to harm another. People like that should not be allowed at Fanime... How many of YOU would like to be around someone who potentially wants to stab people?
Hey man, if you need watching out for, let me know. If you get into some shit with this guy, look for the guy with the fan name "MATLATZINCA." I got your back man.

First off, Ryu isn't a mod anymore. It's just me, scott and tony.
Second off - If this was said at Fanime last year (?) and you say it was brought up a month ago, first off why don't you ask the people who told you it was said at a board gathering or the people you heard talking about it if they know anything about this or the guy. You're coming off as over dramatic announcing it to the world before trying other options first. Being threatened is a serious thing but if you scream fire in a crowded movie theater when your friend pulls out a lighter, things aren't always going to go the way you think.

Again, for someone who is just trying to find the person to help them understand that situation better, you're going about this the totally wrong way. There's talking trash, and then there is going around asking people if they want to be stabbed at Fanime to try to turn people against a guy who has the wrong idea about a situation. I think most people know that no they don't want to be stabbed and no, most people don't want to stab, so why don't you settle this on your own terms.
I feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to try and gank someone at Fanime. I also would feel very angry towards them. Whoever it is should leave their grudge out of the convention. It's Fanime for Chrissakes!
my opinion is that this thread shouldnt be here.
period.
This really doesnt promote a "family friendly" environment and spreading bad press real or not is the best way of promoting the convention.
request to move to byob before this thread gets out of hand?
What a ... strange situation. I suggest you avoid this person; to him (and anyone else, really) I would explain that there are staff keeping an eye out for these situations everywhere, and there will be a lot of SJPD onsite.
