I spent too much money, raved until 4AM, lived off of pocky and ramen and HAD AN AWESOME TIME

So how did everyone fair the con?
I had so much fun taking lots and lots of cosplay pics, hanging out, spending close to $150 in the dealer's room, made like $200 and some change in the swap meet and hanging out with my friends, it was awesome. And the fanime board panel was fun as well. Can't wait till next year.. :3

20 private photoshoots... broke my back, killed my feet, some no shows...
Sadly, spent $200 at mortons, $100 on valet parking, and $0 in the dealer's room. A sign of the times?
16 hours into finishing the private photoshoot image processing and uploading and the assorted fun. Been at since 10AM and almost donee. Work tomorrow...

I had a lot of fun, but I had absolutely no time to even think about Cosplaying. I didn't take pictures, but I did take some videos when I found the time, i'll be uploading them later.
I didn't spend any money in dealer room at all. I think the price is kind of not good. I love Artist Alley and spent $20 or so on bookmarks for reading my manga.
Oh yes, the private photoshoot is fun. I do have 4 no show, but everyone who shows up are great!
Tiring. I did more work at the con than anything else.

Yeah. Mikey touched a lot of balls this weekend. Loktera's hangs ESPECIALLY low. They're like, a good 3 inches away from his crotch.
The con was... well, tiring and very bittersweet. Lots of work, lots of things going wrong, lots of emotional stuff... but tons of just f*cking AWESOME friends. I definitely don't regret going this year.

I wore two costumes this year, Belle from beaty and the beast, and Dion Roger's version of Rinoa (FFVIII). My boyfriend went as the beast (after trasformation) and as Squall as well. Our friends that came around with us were as Enchanted's Gisselle, FFXII's Fran, Xmen's Wolverine and Cyclops, and the Gisselle changed to Grune sometimes. If anyone has pictures please send them. We were loitterly mobed for photo's so if u have any of the above please send them along.

I had NO IDEA who he was until he told me he didn't like watching anime/manga despite being a voice actor
after he stated his job title i paused for a second but didn't think much about it, and i was like, you HAVE to have seen something! Death Note? NANA? and right after I said NANA he smiled really big...and then I left the elevator and said goodbye

I spent maybe $125-ish including hotel fees... pulled an all-nighter per me and my friend's tradition on the last night and worked Reg. more than anything else. I got hit on by quite a few people, but the most cutest I think was when after about 10 minutes of registering this one guy, he comes back to my booth and says "I've never done this before, but I think you're really cute" and runs away with a little shout. xD It was soo adorable.
OH! And while watching a movie on Crunchyroll next to the Wi-Fi, I met one of the Crunchyroll's programmers. It was freaky cool.

But yeah, he doesn't really watch or read anime or manga so he doesn't know characters outside from series he's worked on. It's kinda funny. X.D
I just know that Kiuchi was on the 17th floor of the Hilton and had to insert his room key in order to even push the button in the elevator to get there. X.D He said on his radio show that it was a reeeeeally nice room.

Oh, idly. One of my roomies said that he saw a scheduled Higurashi meetup- something of interest to me, given my cosplay this year. 1. Anime (Wanna-be Anime) statue versions of Supergirl and Powergirl - $77 (For some reason, I can't find them anywhere in So Cali)
2. Plate of yellow curry and 2 pork xiopaos - $12 (Ridiculous price, by the way... and the curry... I give it a meh)
3. 2 times in the maid cafe totaling - $24 (They had better food... or was it just the atmosphere... )
4. Something at the coffee shop downstairs - $6
5. A "Death Set" of fan art in the Artist Alley - $4
6. A couple of pins - $4
7. A Naruto outfit - $75

So... all together... around $220 on Sunday. I normally would buy a bunch of statues and figures in the dealers hall, but I had most of them and the ones I was looking for, they either didn't have or I didn't want to spend their prices.

Whoa what a Memorial day weekend, I needed another day to recuperate because I got sick/lost my voice on Tuesday.
I worked like crazy (12+ hour shifts again) almost like Cirque except I had WAY more fun. Guest services, line controls, Ushering, Safety & Security, Reports, Convention Operations, escort Detail, Bouncer and general Logistics and Registration duties... yah I did all that and then some.
Thanks so much for guys visiting me while I was working!!! :P It was really sweet of you ladies/gents to randomly finding me on random days, but the REAL parties happened Friday, Sat, and Sunday nights! Here's my recap:
Thursday:
4pm to 8pm – Pre-registration badge pick ups & line control... Busy lines (ask everyone who saw how busy I was) they tried to say hi while I was juggling random people. And I felt bad for not being able to hang out with you guys and gals. Sorry! >_<
8pm to 11pm – Fanime's Swap Meet. Its sorta like a flea market, pre registered folks are invited to sell/trade their stuff.
11pm to 2am – Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull – awesome!!!
Friday:
6am to 4pm – Registration/ An Cafe Line Control Working around the Con – randomly surprised my work with 2 HOT girls dressed up in costume with me. I have a random office thats off of Park avenue...
5pm to 7pm – Helping a friend drive to Oakland to pick up a new car! – She bought a Honda Hybrid.
8pm to 10pm – Dinner (Massive amounts of Pizza and drinks) and hanging out in the hotel room: Hot girls dancing in the window for kicks so I invited them to...
10pm to 1am – DANCE/RAVE!!! – but the HOT girls had to stop early because they were wearing high heals... ouch!
Saturday:
6am to 11am – Working around the Reg line and An Cafe Concert ticket pick up line. Mingling with cute and costumed girls is awesome
11am to 7pm – Working at our Maid Café – girls dress up as cute maids and serve you foods, mingle and role play (appropriately of course!) I was one of the Bouncers to keep pervy fanboys in check.
7pm to 10pm – Sushi with the HOT girls! All you can eat + Sake = good times.
11pm to 2am – More DANCING! Got VIP treatment (walked right passed super long line) – Girls got harassed by pervs (ask about side story if you want...), but Pervy guys got thrown out with my help and the night security Teams.
Sunday:
6am to 11am – Reg line + massive line for Concert ticket pickups (An Café) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antic_Cafe
11am to 2pm – Helping at the Maid Café
2pm – 7pm – Managing a line of 2500+ Fans of An Café.
Think about a line starting in front of Manpower's (my work office chain) Office on Park Ave. walking towards Market towards the (Tech Museum), then from Market going on to Santa Clara towards the front of the Civic Auditorium! so yah it felt like a LONG line... especially since I was trying to keep the peace of screaming rabid fangirls.
7pm – 10pm – An Café Concert @ the SJ Civic Auditorium = mass female Hysteria. Mosh pits are interesting, but I probably wouldn't do it again... unless I had riot gear.
10pm – 2am – One last nite of DANCING! – I felt like that guy in Hitch, instead of just being an 'escort' I got to dance a little with one of the Hot girls I was crushing on twas nice.
Monday:
730am to 11am – ('accidentally' slept in...) Walking around general Convention area keeping the peace.
11am to 12pm – An Café's Autograph signing to the limited general public – Seeing girls nearly faint for being 3ft. in front of their favorite band member was pretty funny. I counted at least 29 girls crying of Joy in a line about 150 fans.
12pm to 1pm – Checking out of the trashed hotel... partied like a Rockstar? Sure did. :P
1pm to 2pm – An Café's Q&A Panel line control... 300 Harecore fans... I made them line up via doing a Conga line. Hey it worked. :D
2pm to 3pm – An Café's Q&A – Fans nearly killed me when their NO camera/video rule was changed 5 MINUTES before the Panel started. I seriously saw my life flash before my eyes. At least I would have been torn to shred by a rabid mob of J-rock Fans... would have interested way to go. All turned out OK, and the Q&A was actually pretty fun.
3pm to 4pm – An Café's secretive Staff Autographs: I gave my spot away to the 2 Hot girls I'd been hanging out with all weekend. Yah, I gave the girls a little more VIP treatment, because I'm cool like that. 8)
4pm to 6pm – An Café's security detail, they have a private conference, meeting with our Executives and exclusive press interview for our Evaluation of how they liked North America (as a whole Nation) San Jose was their first time concert in America!

Think about a line starting in front of Manpower's (my work office chain) Office on Park Ave. walking towards Market towards the (Tech Museum), then from Market going on to Santa Clara towards the front of the Civic Auditorium! so yah it felt like a LONG line... especially since I was trying to keep the peace of screaming rabid fangirls.
7pm – 10pm – An Café Concert @ the SJ Civic Auditorium = mass female Hysteria. Mosh pits are interesting, but I probably wouldn't do it again... unless I had riot gear.
10pm – 2am – One last nite of DANCING! – I felt like that guy in Hitch, instead of just being an 'escort' I got to dance a little with one of the Hot girls I was crushing on twas nice.
Monday:
730am to 11am – ('accidentally' slept in...) Walking around general Convention area keeping the peace.
11am to 12pm – An Café's Autograph signing to the limited general public – Seeing girls nearly faint for being 3ft. in front of their favorite band member was pretty funny. I counted at least 29 girls crying of Joy in a line about 150 fans.
12pm to 1pm – Checking out of the trashed hotel... partied like a Rockstar? Sure did. :P
1pm to 2pm – An Café's Q&A Panel line control... 300 Harecore fans... I made them line up via doing a Conga line. Hey it worked. :D
2pm to 3pm – An Café's Q&A – Fans nearly killed me when their NO camera/video rule was changed 5 MINUTES before the Panel started. I seriously saw my life flash before my eyes. At least I would have been torn to shred by a rabid mob of J-rock Fans... would have interested way to go. All turned out OK, and the Q&A was actually pretty fun.
3pm to 4pm – An Café's secretive Staff Autographs: I gave my spot away to the 2 Hot girls I'd been hanging out with all weekend. Yah, I gave the girls a little more VIP treatment, because I'm cool like that. 8)
4pm to 6pm – An Café's security detail, they have a private conference, meeting with our Executives and exclusive press interview for our Evaluation of how they liked North America (as a whole Nation) San Jose was their first time concert in America!

6pm to 9pm – Final debriefing of the Convention as a whole, checking the Convention Center and most area were cleared out by then with a couple of exceptions here and there.
9pm to 12am – Randomly driving home friends from the Convention.

fanime was pretty good this year, but i think it was more about hanging out this year than the last two ive gone, but then again that just could be because ive been doing other things lately. rave kicked ass, im surprised i didnt drop dead monday after dancing for 4 hours the night before, and a couple on saturday. sunday/monday morning rave prompting my search for that girl in the red dress. i swear that sounds like something from the matrix. "were you dancing at the rave, or were you looking at the girl in the red dress?"
saturday i think it was, kind of sucked because i spent a few hours sick off of a johnny rockets burger that was underdone. but i recovered quick enough that the rest of the con didnt suffer. wish i could have cosplayed and bought more than just a shirt, but hey, theres always next year

I was with a group of people and most of us were crying... P: And the Conga line was a good idea! The chant really got things going. After finding out camera's were allowed, I pretty much tripped over myself to run and get it outside. It was you that said, "OH, so
that's what they look like," when they were hanging posters, right? C:
But all in all, you (and the rest of the staff) did a good job and made waiting in line fun. XD;

My experience at Fanime this year totally topped this year. Fanime '07 wasn't the best time I had at a con, but it had it's moments and I enjoyed it enough to want to keep attending and I'm very glad to have made that decision after the experience I had this year. I hosted more panels this year and had a great time with them (I hosted Story Story Die, The Anime List and the fan art caption contest) and I plan to host panels again next year as well.
I also had a great time taking pictures at the gatherings I attended and the video clips I taped was my most diverse video collection from a con to date. When I returned, I was excited to get back just to upload the clips. They can be viewed at http://youtube.com/user/PaladinCecil/

By any chance, did someone get a picture of me? I was Godot from Phoenix Wright, only I forgot my mug at home. I had to buy a starbucks coffee as a substitute, and people thought it was clever. There was another Godot, but I was the one with the large paper mache visor and a white wig that was just messy because I can't style wigs. I dressed up for a while only on Saturday and Sunday, and I wasn't at the PW gathering (missed it).
So, I'm the Wolfwood that held my Cross Punisher up behind Cosplay Jesus when the protestors were out front of the convention center. Does anyone have any pictures of the corss being raised behind jesus? I been looking for one but havent been able to find one.
