I did registration for Fanime 2009 at the con!
I mean...if you know you are gonna be there next year, what's better than registering for $35??!!
I regged at con again this year. I have done this every year since first coming to Fanime.
is the 35$ price still up when they post the online version for registration? or will it go up to 40 again

The price will go up, but the price is undetermined as of now. The $35 dollar price is limited to at-con pre-registration.
I regged at-con this year. Ye will see me again in a year.
Muahahahaha.
*raises hand*
I heard at the door that the $35 price is up till october of something
i got it at con so i dont have to deal with it later on. forgetting and stuff
I haven't pre-regged, but I know I'll be there. (:
I would of, but someone told me the wrong time, and I was too late, so I'll pre-reg asap when it gets up on the site, have done so for the past 3 years.
I think that they'll kill me if I DON'T register (staff has to register too) for FanimeCon 2009.
[Don't worry about who 'they' refers to. It's better if you don't get involved. Promise.]

Oh I'll take that on! I personally promise to kill you if you don't come back to staff next year!
But I still <3 you.

I tried to register but any time I got there it was either over and not up yet, I hope to do it online but it's not there @.@ why?

^_^; I'm very sorry, but I'm afraid we're not ready for that yet. I wouldn't expect to see a full 2009 web site (and thus no 2009 pre-registration) for a few months.
Me, my girlfriend, and my sister already pre-reg for fanime 2009, we regged on sunday at the con

oh crap nerf war. ;p
I regged at con also. Did it Sunday evening when the guy in the artist alley announced it. Haha, the line was like, deserted when I showed up.

I'm thinking about going back for next year, however due to my finances, it may or may not happen. I'm hoping it will be a yes though... :[
I spent what little money I had all at the con and lacked both money to prereg for the con in general for next year and for a table at the artist alley (which I want to do next year for sure). But once the website offers prereg I'll be all over it.
Honestly, I would of love to, but I don't know how much I had left total...so it's better to wait it out and jump on the first opportunity though the website :)

Yeah, I felt that same way, too. I'm gonna wait and pre-reg online.
I did~
I wandered by and lucky for me they were still open.
Hells yeah~
If I don't do it at con, I don't pre-reg at all.
Because I'm lazy and don't like the online process.
[like finding someone with a credit card to borrow if I pay them.]
I'll probably be Staff for a while, but I just realized it but I've had the SAME staff number for the last 3 years now.
Badge number S0852
So Far my Rover numbers have been R035, R014, R009 (this year 2008).
I guess for regular Attendee does the Badge number change from year to year? or is it possible to keep the same Badge numbers for Fans ?
Woah, you're right.
My staff number is 706 for both years...
I think for attendees though, it's by the number of people ahead of them when they register...
I got 1423 last year and 385 this year. o.0 You'd probably have to be super lucky to get the same badge numbers for each year...
had my arms not been full with my luggage, i would have regged for 2009 at-con.
looks like i'll have to wait for online pre-reg.
I felt like such a loser. At the very end of con, I found out you could reg at the con, but I had no idea where, and it was closed already anyways from what they told me. xD
I've been going for four years, and I didn't know you could reg for the next year until MONDAY of the con! X_X

I don't know if I should register as soon as it opens online or wait until I know I can go for sure or not. I'm new here so be gentle with me ^_^ I live in Salem Oregon, a fair distance away, so I'm wondering if I can afford to go to Fanime or not in 2009 considering the train ticket there and back, the con, and hotel there. Plus I wouldn't be allowed to go by myself to California, so my sister would have to be able to afford it as well. How high does the registration fee usually get the latest you're allowed to register? Our convention in Oregon is small and the highest it gets is up to $40 so I'm not sure how high other cons go.

The reg price here typically starts off somewhere in the mid-30s-40s, then it goes up gradually over the months until it hits $55, which is usually the full weekend price for both early and at-con registration. The registration department will usually set a deadline for online registration sometime in May and afterwards, you would have to register on site. There's no deadline for at-con registration
(not that I know of) as long as you do it within the hours on-site registration is open.
I'd say it depends on what you value more. Would you rather get a cheap non-refundable badge knowing you may or may not be able to go? Or get a badge that costs a bit more, but you know for sure that you can go? As an FYI, registration is cheapest during the summer(or if anyone regged for 2009 at Fanime 2008). You're better off e-mailing registration-at-fanime.com for specifics since a lot of this is based off of what I know and there's always the chance something might change for 2009.
Well, considering that I bought it this early, I usually absorb the cost also quite early. By the time I know I can't come, the loss of money is a very small issue - rather, is not being able to come that is a bigger deal.
And, yes, I have already registered for 2009.

I missed my chance, because I miss heard the announcement when they called it out, so I went too late. Sucks but I'm content on waiting till Oct or whenever to prereg then.
Just register today since the prereg is up on the main site.
not yet, but i will eventually.
registered today! my number is 00013 (lowest I've ever gotten in the 6 years I've been going XD ).

Is your number decided by online registration? Since I registered at the con.
i got #00044!! a new low record for me too! XD
I got a question! I couldn't go for 2008, so this'll be my first year at Fanime ^_^
On the site, when you finnish filling out your info for the pre-reg, once you confirm everything and you go on to step 4, how do you make the payment? Do I use my credit card to pay the pass, or? I just want to be sure...
I'm clueless >__<
You may use the paypal link to pay with paypal - $$ monies in a paypal account, credit card, e-check, or direct bank transfer. You may also send in a check using the instructions noted.

Darn, I guess registering at the con doesn't give you a lower number...you just keep your old number :[
Just registered. Darn, if I'd waited just a bit longer, I might have gotten #200. Instead I'm #198. One less thing to worry about. Now to concentrate on new cosplay! ;D
I'm still debating whether or not I'll try staffing this year. Or catch the hot deal of pre-registering.
EDIT: Decided not to staff and just have fun. #254!
Oh oooh~!! -raises hand- I did.
I did! Can't find the yellow reciept thinger though. I registered at Fanime on Monday. X)
we can look you up with your info, easiest is probably your old badge number but our system is not fully implemented yet. We'll let you know when it is. Keep on checking our main page.
Cool ;) I am just happy I got to pre reg at Fanime this last year. I know the reciept is in a file somewhere. I will need that though, when I come to pick it up, right?
nope, the receipt is just that, a receipt of a transaction.
As usual you will print out an "electronic postcard" that you will bring to register your membership and collect your badge.
I've always just had to show my DL. O_o
I didn't know you had to print something out. @_@
I feel so dumb right now...
bringing your post card makes stuff happen a shitload faster...we don't need to look up your name and confirm information but rather just enter your badge number and and confirm your identity....so ya still gotta bring your ID
It's always been fast for me. I just didn't know lol. X3 Gawd I feel like a dumby. Thanks though. ;)
What is the address for sending the check. I sent it to the one it gave me when I registered, but now when I look at my account, it says a different one.
there are one or two stickies on the main reg page....those would be a good place to go
Yeah I registered already. I'm # 122!!!! Woooooo!!!!!! I just hope that I don't end up getting all my cosplay stuff together last minute. =_=
I would be registered by now, but I'm waiting on the Press application to come out so that I can register through that outlet
is it just me or does the registration for fanime next year seem to be increasing much faster than last year? i mean, we didn't start the prices at 45 on the website last year did we? also its already 50 dollars and its only november? i mean, I HOPE IT DOESN'T REACH 60. please... lol :'(
I just did a few minutes ago! (well, I paid anyway) Yay! :) Now to worry about con money and hotel...

i did, but i might not be able to go... i think i have a fight scheduled for that weekend.
I did, and earlier than usual, too! Since I didn't have any income, I usually got a registration for Christmas and then I would do odd jobs until the con for money. XD Looks like I'm still going to be broke this year, though. Actually making a costume this time. :P
I think I was number 149 or something when I registered a while back. Already saving up money and all, rents a pain, but it'll all work its way out in the end.
Already registered, but I really wanna change my fan nickname.
I signed up the day before the pirce went up.
I'm still waiting for press reg to open up...
Just got my sister registered last evening and her number was just under 2000. I expected more people (and I'm assuming that the reg. numbers are sequential).

We also have a LARGE @ con registration crowd =P.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if it did change. Last year (me and my lazy self) registered at around February, and I was in the 3000's. The year before that I registered later and was in the 2000's, so the con is getting bigger.
THIS year however, I wasn't so lazy XD! I immediately registered once it went up online, and I got #0006. I feel so accomplished.
Just registered.
Just over 2000
I forgot to post in here. So yeah, I registered a couple of months ago.
EDIT:My number is 164.
I've had better and worse numbers before.
Quack!
Mine is 00056!!! :P I'm really happy about that!! :P
575 ;)
How early did you have to register to get a laminated badge?
before sometime in march or april....I think its by the end of march.
Already registered just before New Years. Now to find folks to split the cost of a hotel with.
