My personal opinion is similar as well... but I think it was just because I was uberly excited that year more than this year because I didn't know what to expect much then than now.
This year, Fanime offered a lot of things, but it felt just really impersonal, I thought... probably because there were too many people for me (I get claustrophobic around lots of people...).
(:
This year was cool too, though. I met a lot of new people and I'm looking forward to meeting more next year. I have a feeling that next year will be better, this year was still experimental in terms of what I thought I wanted to attend and what I will for sure attend for the next year.
(: Looking forward to '09.

All kidding aside, I guess it's up to personal perception. For me the opposite was true. Last year kind of dragged, while this year I had a blast.

That probably was it.

I know I felt like I couldn't just goof of like previous years. >.>;

Of course for me, I was staying far away so it was a bummer that I couldn't wander late at night as much. I didn't feel safe going back by myself to the hotel. >.>;

But nonetheless it was fun; slightly different fun but fun. All cons are slightly different anyways.

I think Fanime is as great as you make it. I went there with fairly bad conditions.
I went alone
With my Hotel miles away
Knew NOBODY that was going

Bunch of stuff happened, ended up meeting a good 8-9 people and having the greatest time of my life.
Last time I went, I went with my girlfriend at the time.. .. And that was really, REALLY bad.
Really bad.
Bad.

Jesus Vrs. Fanatics was AWESOME.
<3 you Jesus.

Not sure about some people but I think this year's Fanime was WAY better than 2007. (Last year felt like something was "missing", while this year felt fun despite some misques)

Quite the opposite experience for me this year, actually, and I'll tell you why: I hung out with a HELL of a lot more people this year.

That's all there is to it- the company you keep makes all the difference. That, and- of course- your own interaction with the con.

It definitely varies from person to person... While all of my friends agree with each other that they had way more fun this year than any other year, it was the opposite for me. Its not that I didn't have fun this year, I just think the previous years I've attended seemed to leave me with a more fulfilled feeling, and a deep longing to turn back time and do it all over again.
This year, I don't particularly miss it like I usually do... Instead, I'm just pumped up for the next Fanime to roll around.

This year was my first fanime. It had its up and downs, but over all way more ups. There were awesome music panels and an all night music vid room for jrock. Dude jrock form the 80's at 3am is was a mind trip. I had my friend introduced to that of which is hard gay. SCORE!!!!. I won a price from shojou beat and My friend and I along with other cosplayers will be featured in one of their issues. I picto-chatted for the first time. Dude,  the L who approached my friend and I one night while picto-chatting rocked. She was so creepy and cool. ZOMG san jose at 3am is like grand theft auto...no joke. I have so many good memories. There was alot to do and the con was so casual I didn't feel overwhelmed. I really enjoyed fanime. My biggest beef was getting sick the day before the con and being sick during the whole con ;_;.

Dissappointed?
My only dissappointment was not attending the whole event!
This was my first time attending, and I only was available for Sunday. So many people recommended this con to me and I always was too busy to attend. I was able to attend this year cos my cuz was graduating the day before in Sacramento. So, I made some arrangements and was finally able to attend! I was so stoked that I went that I will be coming next year for sure!
;D ;D ;D

For a second there, I thought I was the only one who noticed this. I was beginning to think it was just in my head or they crushed the vendors even closer together. Other than that, this fanime rawkd so much more than last year. I think that you get what you put out. Last year I didn't do as much as I did this year.

Seriously, you're not kidding one bit. Our group went to Jack in the Box at about 1:30 AM or so Monday morning and we saw tons of police cars heading in one direction. We stopped to talk to one of the cops we saw while crossing the street and asked what happened and all he said was "A really big fight". It had to be a huge fight, down there street where he was standing there were lots of police cars and an ambulance.

Fanime is as great as you make it. It's possibly one of the most personal cons I've ever attended, in comparison to competing cons like AX. This year was a very successful year, and though some departments may have been lacking in comparison, you could tell that there was a lot of hard work being done to make it as successful as it turned out. Many things have improved, and while there were truckloads of things that went wrong, they all turned out pretty good, and while some things just ended up plain sucking, the support from all the fans that had attended made things all the better.

Also I had a dealer basically blow me off after I told them I found the same product for a lower price at another dealer...if anything, you want to hear that kind of thing so that you can lower prices and bring in more income. It would be a win-win situation for all of us!

Asian films/cinema took a hit.  It seemed like this year, there were less movies to pick from.  Some, I noticed were repeats from last year or the year before.  Additionally, they lacked information on site.  Usually outside the rooms is a board, and on that board there is a small synopsis about the movie.  However, there was no such thing this year.  I guess Fanime expected us to walk around with our pamphlet.

Musicfest has gone down too, but at least they are managing to bring in hit bands such as An Cafe.  But to repeat what someone earlier had said, there was a lot of work going into this con.  And a lot of work that goes into it every year.  That's what makes this event so memorable.

Is that a bad expectation?  We put the map in the program guide, and we put the program guide in an easy-to-carry bag.  Is there a reason why you don't want to carry your program guide and your registration bag around with you?

Speaking of the dealers room, I saw a PVC which was $14 cheaper with one guy compared to another guy. To be precise, it was a Strain PVC of Lotte. I bought it for $39. Two dealers down, I saw it for $25... I froze on the spot.

Mm. Yeah, this year wasn't as good as last year for me, though that's not a huge margin of difference (meaning, '08 wasn't any "bad"; just not as good).

My biggest issue was mostly my own use of time. I spent less time with friends and acquaintances; in fact, I spent far too much time alone. That... put a damper on things. Next year... Fanimafia is more important than Karaoke (and, if Karaoke DOES work, then BRING! INSTRUMENTAL! ONLY! TRACKS!!!).

Being my first Fanime, I had a blast! I was really surprised how friendly alot of the people were. I didn't like the dealers' room AT ALL, except for one dealer that had a resin statue I've been hunting for the past year (Samus Aran <3). I was really impressed with the Artist Alley, and how centralized everything was. It's a great improvement since the last con I went to was AX06.

The only thing that was disappointing was that there were six or eight Haruhi skits in the masquerade, using the exact same music and the exact same dance (I feel sorry for the last one though, having to go on and do the skit while people are yelling for it to stop)

I had an absolute blast (with the exception of the hotel losing our room and my sitar breaking T.T), but this year really wasn't as great as I had hoped it would be. The gatherings that I went to were rather uneventful, except the Naruto one. And the masquerade was.....well, awful compared to last year. There were a lot less good cosplays his year too, it looked like there were a TON of people that didn't even feel like putting real effort into anything...

Let's see from the stuff I went to:

1) The Yuri Marathon didn't actually have Yuri (If it includes a guy's _____), its not Yuri.
2) The Black and White Ball was scheduled the same time as the AnCafe concert (Still went to the concert, but wanted to dance as well.)
3) The Yaoi Bingo on Friday got canceled ( I believe it was a mix up in schedules o_O)
4) Badges had to be in their big sleeve plastics (My friend couldn't go into the Raves without it.)

That is my rant for now  ;D

More cowbell.

If only we had Christopher Walken be a Guest of Honor next year.

That and I'll be tempted to use the Cowbell next year when I try again to control a line of 1500+ all by myself.

I'll say it again: this has been my BEST FanimeCon in over 10 years ... period.

Post by: blancoisma on May 29, 2008, 10:09:35 AM
Compared to last year, this Fanime was definitely much more fun. I have to agree that it really does have to do with everyone's personal view of things. Some will argue that the dealer's room lacked variety, while others will say they were able to find everything they wanted. ( In my case, I didn't find everything I wanted, and to me, there was much less variety. I mean, when you have money, and you can't find anything to buy, that says something )

The artist alley has grown so much. It was really fun going around browsing and meeting some awesome artists whos work I have seen before and have been a fan of. My only gripe is that I got this really uncomfortable feeling at times from certain artists that exuded this superiority, like they just thought I wasn't worthy of commenting and admiring their work. *shrugs* Maybe that was just me...

Last year I went alone, and that also contributed to it being not fun. This year I had awesome roomies, so they made it much more enjoyable. All in all, this year's con was awesome, small annoyances aside, I will definitely be returning next year.

other than that, me and my friends had a blast. we did notice things were run a lot more strict than in past years. i just hope in the future it won't take away the fun and excitment.

Yes... something was lacking this year for me and my friends.  We honestly spent hardly any time at the con, and more time off site.  Everything that we wanted to see was scheduled for a terrible time (4 am, 7 am), or conflicted with something that we really had to do (pick up friend at airport).  The dealer's room was less interesting (although artist's alley showed a huge improvement, and I actually spent more money there than the dealer's room).  FMVs were markedly better though than last year, and I enjoyed the new voting format.

However, overall, I still had a ton of fun because Fanime gives my friends an excuse to all get together.

Wow! It only took you that long to get all the way to Orange county? Wish my drive had been that short. Unfortunately, mine was about 6 hours.  :'( And I live in the Valley.  :o Got stuck for about an hour on the 152 in practically stopped traffic. Then wasted about 15 minutes at the gas station because the guy there thought his personal call was more important then the customers.  >:(

I felt that I couldn't go to all the gatherings and panels I wanted too, it all happened at the same time and I can't be in two places at once. lol Also, yeah the dealers room was the same, everyone had the same stuff, the dealers need to sell majority different things. Oh and yeah, the moment we left fanime was the worst...real life returns. lol

i too was depressed when gaia did not stick around this year. i was looking forward to buying a gaia item and spinning the wheel :(

that was another thing, whenever i was bored at fanime i could always go there for somthign fun to do...hell just watching other people spin was entertaining
Knowing them.. they'll goto AX D:<

D: I miss the booth because that's where I could bother all my higher-up friends to death. This year, I only spotted a *few* of them at the panel, but then I had to go back to reg. D:

So uncool, I'mma try and kick Derek's butt if he at least doesn't schedule Gaia to come back next year.
They BETTER not have any problems next year...

Ahh yes... good ol' So Cali Traffic! I only went Sunday and Monday was the long trek back to Orange County. It took like 5 hours.

Yeah, the 152 can be pretty bad at times (twice before I've turned around, and got back on US 101 because of traffic).  Next time, try taking the 101 down to highway 46, and then cut across to the 5.

I too felt something was...eh, I dunno, lacking.
I've been going to Fanime since '04, and this year was the first year I spent a lot of time in my hotel room.
I'm not sure if the reason is I'm maturing and maybe the same things I found amusing when I was 14 just....don't do it for me now that I'm 18 or if it's because I'm too ADHD to stand stand in a line and wait to get into things I want to go to, or maybe it was lack of selection on Fanime's part.

...Probably a combo of all of the above.

I drove from Phoenix, and I took the 5. It's probably just me, but I LOOOOVE California drivers. Az drivers are incredibly unpredictable.

I'm jealous, I want to touch the Wheel of Gaia. D= I never found the artist alley person selling Longcat Scarves.

I dunno. I wouldn't say this year was disappointing, but it definitely felt different than last year. A lot less hectic (since I wasn't driving back and forth between San Jose and Oakland every afternoon, for one), for one. But I think I had a lot more fun this year, since I actually got to stick around and not have to miss things, so actually got to meet new people and hang out with the friends I came down with.

Seconding the dealer's room though. It just seemed really off to me, and the lack of a cosworx booth made me sad. But the artist's alley this year rocked; I think I spent the majority of my money there (as it seems a lot of people did, lol). The masquerade went downhill from last year, though Ric Myers was an awesome MC. It's just that so many similar skits and having so many people come up and sing got really annoying. (especially when you're in press and can't just turn and talk to friends like you can if you're seated in the back).

Also, the Yuri room. I wasn't at con for it last year, but meant to bring my sister to it as her initiation into 1) anime cons larger than one-day cons and 2) 18+ rooms, as she turned 18 a couple months ago, but were disappointed when it wasn't yuri at all. (at least when we walked in, anyways)

All in all, though, I think I had a lot more fun this year, even though there were a few things that I would've loved to have seen, if they hadn't been at 6 AM or other assorted awkward times... The Karaoke Gong Show made up for a lot, though XDD

Mmm I really enjoyed this years con over 06 and 07, but perhaps that's because this is the first time I actually stayed the full time (day and night). Also since I felt that Artist Alley this year was even more awesome then before and I spend a good 75-80 percent of my time at the con there chatting with friends and commissioning anyway all a good con experince for me entails for the most part an AA with lots of friends to chat with (and for me to have a decent amount of cash to commission art for me and friends).

The only large period of time I spent out of the Artist Alley was at a friend's cosplay photoshoot that was a lot of fun and very well planned out so no dissapointments there either ^^;

The Ramada sucked but you can't blame Fanime Con for that :)

haha... there were these guys in the room next to mine, and i heard "never gonna give you up" outside, so i went out and started singing. they were rick rolling some guy on the 3rd floor. that was fun.

then jesus vs. fanatics = rickroll was great. its on youtube.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH9DGfNSTmI
too bad i missed it (>.<).

i thought asian cinema was okay this year. there werent very good hongkong or japanese movies, but the korean movies were better.  anime by and large was worse then last year (super robot wars? did anyone see that absolute crap? it was terrible. whose pick was that?) with the exception of Sword of the Stranger.... efffing epic.  who else saw that? it rocked my world.

the artist alley in my opinion had a big boost of talent over last year.  BIG boost. i was very impressed by especially the landscape artist.

i won 6th place at the saturday holdem tournament; the prize was a losing lottery ticket and a Godjira dvd sampler - not godzilla; godjira.  the sunday one was cancelled, and i couldnt make it to the friday one.

the boffer room never came together.  PC gaming was cancelled.  that could have kept me entertained for basically the entire time.  those two would have been awesome. but alas, it was not.

overall, whereas i had a solid 95% last year, this year was a 76%.   Worth the trouble... but barely.

I mean, when you have money, and you can't find anything to buy, that says something

this was the same for me, i actually for once in my life HAD MONEY TO SPEND, but there was nothing to buy

SOOOOo i spent it all on a couple CASES of strawberry pocky and melon ramune.

QuoteThe artist alley has grown so much

and i spent the rest of whatever i had left over on some lovely artwork

Hmmm.... Yeah, the whole, "Nothing to buy" has been what's happening to me at the past few cons. A lot of the blame is on the net and eBay... but I think the blame should be put on the prices and selection. A lot of the items I saw were a little more expensive than online stores and in some cases, way more expensive. The 2 statues I purchased were actually more expensive online and also harder to find. But at the same time, even though I did appreciate this booth carrying these items at their prices, it was for the wrong crowd. I mean, sure they are "anime" versions of Supergirl and Powergirl, they are just not "real" anime characters... plus the artwork on the package from Udon sucked... so double wammy. I think a lot of these dealers need to look online and actually do research for their inventory and prices and compete with that, or at least, try not to go too high above their prices. Also, looking to see what will be hot will be a big help in their sales side.

As far as the artist alley, applause. This is the crown jewel of this con, and I hope this expands even more. Now that Ape is moving to the Fall season, this will be a great place for aspiring mangaka to show off their stuff!

Dissappointing part of Fanime? The bathrooms were gross at times. But what can you expect? Also, more space could have been utilized!

4) Badges had to be in their big sleeve plastics (My friend couldn't go into the Raves without it.)
Just want to comment real quick here: no they didn't. I went all weekend with the badge itself attached with a clip I brought with me, as I don't like using lanyards or those big builky holder things.

This was my first Fanime so I can't compare it to previous ones, but I can compare to other cons in general. And I will agree that it did seem lacking to me as well. I think it was more the fact that I didn't really know people down there so spent a lot of time wandering around the con center or sitting and people watching. The only event I actually went to was the Masq. I wish I would have noticed that the AMV contest was so early in the day..would really have liked to see it.

Yes, they did.
It says on the back of your badge; they were technically void without it.
A few staffers/volunteers didn't pay attention to that, but a lot of others did, especially the raves and such.

Yes they did.  My friend didn't like it around his neck, so he clipped it to his belt loop instead (still completely visible, and faced out), and they wouldn't let him in the Dealer's Room.  It totally pissed him off.

I third this statement.
I noticed a lot of people feeling uptight and I can't help but think that it may have had something to do with fear of staff that led to that.

I had no direct confrontations with any staff or volunteer member, but I did witness a few on the sidelines and I've heard/read some horror stories from others.

I think half the problem is that yes, there were overzealous members working as staff and volunteers who went above and beyond what their tasks were, in the wrong direction. Power abuse and rude behavior towards congoers topping the list of problems. The other half of the problem was that a lot of those who did have a confrontation with staff members didn't know how to handle it. The were afraid their badge would get pulled, they would get arrested, they would be the ones at fault and no one would try to mediate and get to the bottom of things. They didn't want to say anything until AFTER the con so they wouldn't risk their chance at having a good rest of the weekend. Along with this, they didn't think to take down a name or a badge number or any sort of identifying information to follow up on until later, making it hard to screen for these people in the future to ensure they don't do the same thing next year.

I think we definitely need to think of some way to fix that. A disclaimer, something, anything to let congoers know that if they think a staff or volunteer member wasn't handling a situation appropriately, that it's ok to put light on it to someone in the position to try and sort out the problem. On the other side, staff and volunteers need to be told what their boundaries are and that if they feel that they're handling something they aren't qualified for, they should contact someone higher on the authority chain.

I enjoyed Fanime this year a lot more than I did last year. The gatherings were awesome and I was able to make one of the best sets of video clips I had ever made at a con. I also had a lot of fun with the panels I hosted and it was really cool to be able to see Dan Southworth.
And I have some ideas I plan on doing for next year to try to make it even better.

Nah... we don't lock threads on content alone; there are plenty of unflattering stories on the boards about the convention. I have locked threads - like the one about the guy potentially getting his stuff stolen - but those are cases where the thread started to devolve, which is critical in situations like these. (For example, if there's an emergency, cops shoo away people... not because they're trying to hide anything, but because onlookers and passersby can make the situation worse.)

Interesting. I had mine like that literally all weekend..and went in the dealers hall at least a couple times every day. Maybe it was because I clipped mine up at chest height. The lady at the game room was even checking the backs of the badges to make sure it had that stuff on the back (I didn't even know it was there until she asked to see the back of my badge..lawl). <.<

Finding a panel where everyone has the same interest as you is what really makes it special... or just finding someone who is cosplaying as your favorite character and then hanging out. Quick description. Cthulu is a powerfull diety who sleeps at the bottom of the ocean. He was mentioned and appeared in stories written by HP Lovecraft. The panel Cthulu for president was hilarious because the guy running it said he was cthulu's campaign manager and took the role very seriously. We even got to ask questions. Such fun you'll only find at a con.
Again, moments like these make fanime great. This cheered me up even when I was pissed at my roommates. XD So make many friends at fanime. It's in the con rules!!

What? Did u not see jesus confront the protestors? XD
All kidding aside, I guess it's up to personal perception. For me the opposite was true. Last year kind of dragged, while this year I had a blast.

Lol it was that complete same for me too. I had a blast this year and it kinda dragged last year, but this year i ended up going to panels... viewing rooms... etc. Lol i didn't buy as much as i usually do... but somehow i ended up spending a lot of money anyways... ;_;
Finding the right panels can really lift your spirits. All of a sudden you got a group of people to hang out with. That was the case for me with the cthulu for president, how to animate, and comedy panels.

Ok lol i dont wanna sound stupid but who is cthulu? My friend plays wow and yadda yadda, we all have no clue... >>'; But yes! Finding a panel where everyone has the same interest as you is what really makes it special... or just finding someone who is cosplaying as your favorite character and then hanging out. It's really about all the connections and thing you end up doing at the con.

I've decided this year that i will end up going to some of the upcoming fanime gatherings and hang with everyone from the forums. Making friends is always the hardest part... :)

FANIME GATHERINGS?!?!?!? What is that??? Is there any in LA??? COME HERE!!!! Let's go to DISNEYLAND!!!!

Lol the forums plan get togethers outside of fanime at random times during the year. I've been meaning to go to one but showing up somewhere where you know nobody, at some random persons house is just a tid awkward. ^^

Hm, agreed. While I did enjoy '08 very much, more volunteers this year seemed a bit hot-headed with their authority. :T
I third this statement.
I noticed a lot of people feeling uptight and I can't help but think that it may have had something to do with fear of staff that led to that.

*insert rest of post here :P*

well one thing i REALLY didnt like was the fact that SOS was so uptight about weapons. i know they had their orders and their reasons, but i thought it was stupid that i couldent carry around my wooden sword because i wasent cosplaying <_<  for all they know i could of been cosplaying as some teenager with a black sword from an anime XD  ~ROFL~

but ya, what sucked even more is that i had no where to put it. i dont have a hotel room, no car, no one to come pick it up. But i certainly wasent going to go all the way back home to drop a wooden sword off just so i can then come all the way back X_X

but i was lucky and the nice lady in the hotel front desk put my wooden sword in their safe room :D    she was nice....and pretty <3

It's better they be uptight about weapons than be completely lax and allow possible injuries. In 2004 I saw people who had bought swords in the dealers room, who weren't cosplaying, and had them swinging around in the middle of the street as we were all leaving (what was then) Der Cosplay. That scared me, how stupid someone would have to be to pull something like that. After that I noticed the weapons policy start to straighten up.

That's why you need to think before you buy something. Or bring something with you. Read up on the rules. You don't want to get caught with a rule like that and not have any options.

To be fair, for all the people who pre-registered early, the rules didn't come out until way after pre-registration.  We had to agree to the rules before they were made available to be read.  Some of the rules just weren't stated anywhere until we actually got to the con and saw the posters and program guides.  If someone went to the con via public transportation and skateboard, bike, or rollerblade, they would would have no way of knowing that skateboards, bikes, and rollerblades weren't allowed until after they paid for registration and read their program guide.  What do you expect them to do with their transportation at that point?  It's not reasonable for people to read up on the rules and plan ahead when the rules weren't available ahead of time.

Fanime-Con 2008...disappointing?

No, not at all.

For the people who say they will go and make friends, its a tough call.  Really hard to get to know someone personally in a matter of a few days.  Even harder for us who are not so good with social interactions.

Problem solved?  Go with your own friends.  Invite them even if they're not into anime.  And just go crazy (but keep it within regulations/rules).  That's all I can say.

Lots of people this year  :)

Not awkward at all. Just introduce yourself to all those strange people. But don't drink the punch, it's spiked....Literally, it could cut your tongue.

In the case of the weapons policy, I believe that was already available on the website before the convention.  Though I will also admit, the "rules" that were supposed to be made available for members to read before they clicked "register" should have been made available as soon as registration was open >_> sigh.

I was highly disappointed with masquerade this year (especially since I've waited in line this year longer than any of my previous cons), but I suppose that is not Fanime's fault. I don't want to sound mean, but maybe there should be a round of preliminary judging to "filter" out skits that definitely wouldn't win, or at the least entertain the audience. The combination of 3 skits consisting of only Hare Hare Yukai really did it for me.

I'm surprised the Marvel v.s. Capcom skit didn't get best of show; so many people around me stood up and cheered at the end of that one. I also enjoyed the opening acts for masq. more so than previous years.

With video programming, I don't know if it's just me, but I found that there weren't many great shows to watch. My friends are big dorama fans, so they were pretty disappointed with Asian Film's selection.

Other than my personal hotel roommate issues; I made cool friends this year. My previous Fanimes seemed to have more ups than this year. I think you just have to be careful of what you look forward to, as there are no guarantees as to how they will play out.

Bring a Nintendo DS to next year's Masquerade. Pictochat was blazing with various amusements that night.

The biggest suprise was the fact that #42, DN Task Force, actually won something given what they did. Either than that, the skits that should of won won that night.

I think this is going to be a hot-button topic: the balance between fairness (meaning open up the Masquerade to all skits, no matter how many) and what's best for the audience (your idea of filtering) at the Masquerade.

for me i was at a bad point in my life out side of cons so just lots of bad things happening to me and stuff a little to personal for this forum board
but i felt like last year was better simply because for me it was that i was lucky and everyone else put in alot of effort to make the con fun so it was fun for me to (like glomp me signs and playing games and people were more loud and open i felt)
but this year i think you got out what you put in
so i didnt put much into it and i didnt get much out
next year will be better ^_^ i wish it was sooner but not to soon so i can finish my costumes

I DID hear about the epic Picochat session during masq (from /cgl/ lol), but unfortunately I only got a DS recently since my birthday is after Fanime. Unfortunate, but I'll remember to bring it next year.

As long as it isn't something like AX's masquerade show, where you have to have won a cosplay award before to be eligible to even entering.

uuugh Dont remind me of masq, I was bored out of my mind with all the constant memeing and over done Hare Hare Yuaki...it killed it for me so me and my friends all left, I wish I did bring my DS. The dance moves were all pretty bad, like some people were off sync or didnt practice enough or were even too stiff rather than flowing. except for Minna no Anime's skit they actually did rather well :d especially with the syncing and thriller-ness

I agree with Pockystix, the Marvel vs capcom should have won I was suprised, The pokemon dance thing was so cute :V i was three seconds of going up stage and hugging the living crap out of that Piplup

Fanime was a total disappointment for me 'cause I didn't get to go.

True story. We were so bored, the SOS staff just sat down and ate nachos.
