QuoteAnybody seen the Chrono Trigger OAV?

i'm pretty sure they're completely unrelated.

QuoteTried but uhh what's it supposed to do??

normally i d/l just a codec package.  which group are you d/ling the series from?  may want to check their website (if any) to see which codecs they're using.

try this codec pack:
http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm

it's the only 1 i've d/ling so far and haven't run into any probs yet.  also, you may want to make sure your player is up to date (assuming you're using WMP)

General Anime Chat / Where do you get your anime?
December 22, 2003, 04:47:06 AM
BT on anime.mircx.com  i use the ABC client.

animesuki if you need to find a particular unlicensed series.

suprnova.org sometimes has some stuff there.

i have to catch up on 2-3yrs of anime i missed.  i stopped watching around 00-01.  just started up again.

watched 4eps.  will probably stick it out till the end if it's going the same pace/story.

not bad.  the religious link is a new twist (for me anyway).  also supposedly set in the east coast during the 20's-30's (? i forget exactly)

download search and destroy to be rid of yourselves of any spyware.  most P2P clients install spyware on your computer.

General Anime Chat / What's new, what's good?!?
October 28, 2003, 04:18:04 AM
cinderalla boy.  if you like lupin, you'll like this series i think.

gunslinger girl.  kinda slow for me.  good action though. about a little girl brainwashed from her past life to be an assassin/puppet of an agency.

full metal alchemist.  not bad so far.  seems interesting.  a little alchemy, a little bad guy ball busting.

full metal panic fumufu(sp).  like the 1st FMP but more of the fun school stuff.  very light so far, kinda fun.

peace maker kurogane.  set a little before the "kenshin" (meiji?  my jpn. history knowledge sucks) era.  sorta the flip side of kenshin where they get into the shinsen gumi org.  it's okay.  i'm not really bored but not really intrigued.

naruto.  got the yuu yuu hakusho and kenshin vibe to it.  i kinda like it.  i thought rock lee was the dumbest character ever created (i think i could draw him w/ a compass and a straight edge) but he's grown on me.  should be good.  now they just need to actually print a copy of "come come paradise"

get backers.  watched the entire series.  not bad i guess.  seems like it cut off at the end.  kinda disatisfying since it was starting to get good.  but otherwise, it's a decent anime.  hopefully there will be more.

gilgamesh.  i don't dig the character designs.  and it's a little slow for me.  i doubt i'll watch more.

cromartie.  high school badasses/posers.  kinda funny in it's own way  kinda stupid too.

tsukihime.  not bad.  even though i read someone's spoiler on it.  should be interesting.  though it's a little slow for me.  guess i'm a bang bang shoot em up summer blockbuster kinda guy.

ikkitousen.  fan service.  i didn't get anything in the story really, just notice it's 80% fan service.  if it's a TV series, i'm surprised it aires.

General Anime Chat / Do you watch anime to suit your mood?
September 11, 2003, 02:29:42 PM
I'm kinda bored and nothing really good to read on other boards i'm on so...

Do you watch anime to suit your mood?  Example, if you're happy, you watch happy anime.  Depressed, you watch depressing/sad anime...and so forth.

Or do you watch it to alter your mood?  Example, you're pissed off and watch funny/happy anime.  You're happy but watch sad anime.

Quoteyes, these titles are licensed but are still available as fansubs on very few sites:
uhhh...where? as tape or d/l?  PM me. ;)

i watched some of naruto already.  not bad.  seems to be a touch drawn out though.  no need for 5min. recaps every eps.  guess it could be worse, kare kano had 2 entire eps almost fully dedicated to just reviewing the last ones.

digi charat.  i think i have 16eps on tape.  was that the whole series?

i'll check out everyone's suggestions though. :)

Quotehe's the guy with the purple gixxer 1000.
i thought john had a grey gixxer? :p  i sometimes go on wed. night (sortova bike meet) if i have nothing to do.  i don't play pool much ($ spent on riding) i just go hang out and watch bike vids (usually someone brings a tape of something).  AFAIK, john and tracey are engaged right now. ;)

we'll see...doubtful but i guess anything can happen.

some of those titles i can't find on those torrent sites?  i assume they're licensed or something?

oh ya, just talked to ken (saw him @ family billiards of all places), he's puttin' his bike back to street.

so any other recommendations on what to d/l?  or at least not waste my time w/?

btw, i just got up to eps 22 of kare kano (that's the last decent anime i remember watching...).  WTF?  it was hella good till about eps 14 or so....i dunno what it is but it seems to have lost something in the later eps.  maybe cause they took the focus off the 2 main characters. [/rant]

anything else anyone wants to recommend?  i'm not really partial to any genre.  as long as it's interesting.  i think the last thing i watched was vandread a yr. ago only cause i was in the vid storage room for the 02 con and there was a TV/VCR there
