@TC *likes comment* Thanks for defending the concept of our dance not being a rave.  Much appriecated

Jerry has it about right.  We have the intent of trying to make our dance party enjoyable by all who passby.  I know personally, we aren't one who promote the 'raver' style and all of its negative aspects.  If you wish to look at it in the social sense of being able to meet others who are like you, musically speaking, then its a great time out.  This is the concept that our dance is based upon.

In any event, those who are curious should just pass by the show its self, and check it out.  Who wants to be the person to miss out on a great thing since they 'believe' the majority of the reviews that are posted?

To the poster, Dance is fun since we as staff make it fun, and the attendees make the show worth our while.  For without their support, it'd be just 5 or so guys playing for themselves to hear the music they like.

So keep that in mind when coming to our show :-)
thanks for all the support, in advance

I vote for anything that is not rap/hip-hop/R&B.

Not only can you not actually dance to that "music" (except smash and grind as if you're having sex on the dancefloor), but most of the songs contain abusive and disrespectful messages and lyrics towards different groups of people.

Honestly, I'm going to the dances in hope that more anime/pop music will be played, since so many dances play nothing but rap.

If rap consists of most of the evening's lineup, you can count on at least one less guest (my companions for the weekend also share this view with me).

What!?  YEAH!!!

jinnai: heart of gold came up on my iPod the other day, it made me chuckle.
Your idea of rap seems to consist only of lil' jon, soulja boy, and the like.  rap/hip-hop/r&b isn't solely represented by mainstream tools who'll say anything for money.  good mainstreamrepresentatives to me would be jurassic 5 for rap, beyonce for hip hop, alicia keys for r&b.

I'd like some drum&bass or old school funk.  just tell me the time frame you'd be playing that kind of music.

I think every night, I'll play a different mix. One night I'll do anime remixes, another night, I'll do Super Eurobeat. And one night, ill do Internet Music hits and memes.

very classy of you jinnai, better rock that cherry chocolate rain.

hey guys for those who don't know me, i'm strider hanzo, 2nd to Reign for dance.  i was absent from the dance since i did the music for stage zero, but this year is a hefty double duty year for me.  i'll be at the dance, having my various sets to go around, along with doing music at stage zero, so don't be afraid to say hi. please add further comments and suggestions into either thread we got going here, (this one and the one Reign started)

i may not be as good as the other guys (technical wise) but i do have music to rock the house down, anyone here go to yaoi-con 08? i was the last dj of the night, got no negative feedback so i must have did alright in my first live run at it.

none the less, it'll be a fun time waitin to happen, and if the genres weren't covered last year, they will be for sure this year...

hope to see ya there!

but what you guys should look into (if you don't know about it already) is this

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=QWCE-25

There are three of these CDs and they're pretty awesome

Give them a listen but I think they'd go over pretty well

i have those CDs, and yes they are great, but the style we're trying to put out is live mixing. so even though this mix cd is great (and makes well for driving distances), its something we aren't going to play, since its a pre-mixed cd.

but nice taste in music none the less! d^__^b

I would like to hear a good mix of techno with disco, 80's , and hip-hop. I'm tired of the trance! Mix it up! PLEASE!

Only 1 DJ played trance last year, and that was me.  Everything else was breaks, 80's/90's, electro, techno, drum 'n' bass, house, kpop, jpop, and hardcore.

And I enjoyed that Tetris Remix you played at ALA 09 :D

good thing i hooked him up with that.

Yeah it was very good ^_^.

i'm for the team man, no doubt. hell i still have your cd ddjinnailation max 2 from fanime 2003, so obviously i'm definately a team player. :-)

yo lady, what's up?

My plan is to try to have enough music on hand for a different genre per night. (since i'm a little new at this whole DJ thing, i'm trying to plan carefully)  Since i'll be doubling up at Stage Zero, The idea is to make the show happen where ever it may take us.  People keep those requests coming so we can fulfill the majority of requests. So far, i plan for, some electro, some house, some trance, and a birthday set filled of hard bass power, most of which will have some sort of japanese vocal spin on it, hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves.

We have plenty of people who will seduce those ones and twos to make it rockin for all, Yours Truly included.

So keep the good feedback comin!

Hanzo-san! I can't wait to hear you DJ at fanime! You know Ima dance to your music set! Let me know what times you DJ! Please have some hip-hop mixes in there please!

For those who think all you can do is dry hump each other to hip hop songs then you have no idea! Good example of hip-hop music mixed with techno and trance and whatever else is DJ Earworm's mix sets! Check it out at DJEarworm.com

i'll do what i can, rap is a little out of touch by me, since i listen to alot of other stuff, but i'll do what i can to support the fan faithfuls. :-)

thanks for the support!
