Gaming / Arcades 2005 Feedback/comments/complaints/etc
January 11, 2006, 10:45:10 AM
=P no problem to the eariler post.

As a FYI and a big one, E-Gaming is NOT part of arcades, unless something changed over the last month or so. Not coming off angry, but I would like people to realize we're not the same department.

I have not heard anything about a Arcades dept at all at this time, but, I do know the senior heads (or someone from programming at least) are watching this thread. Keep the thread going and we'll see what happens.

Quote from: "Itachi no Jutsu"ZOMG I AM HOOKED ON MARIOKART DS. Another reason for me to buy a DS ><

And now that I think of it, this should have been started in the Gaming section =( is there a way to move it? And if there is, could it please be?

*flips a coin to see which handheld to get now, since both are such good options*

I certainly dont have the admin powers to do so, but I can poke Ryu about it later. I like the idea thus far, just how to pull it off is a different story. As far as I know, there will be a handheld section in our definate plans, once our new location is fully secured and we can work on the finer details. It being its first year, don't expect it to be perfect =P

Itachi, watch for a PM next week. I'll have some details for you we both need to talk about =)

Quote from: "Kazuko"=( well my friend has a complaint that in the game room when we were going to own one another in a healthy combat of soul calibur we were told to leave because of a silly naruto game tournament that took up what only 4 tv's. it wasent nice i dont know why but yeah =\

other than that the game room i was in was pretty spiffy though i recommend a para para paridise machine.

Well, at the time at that tournament, I was on my break and I assumed my staff handled the set up accordingly. Next year for e-gaming, we're gonna try something different on how we do the tournaments...

Quote from: "Itachi no Jutsu"=) I might be interested in staffing for E-Gaming. Maybe this can be like an E-Gaming event or something?

check your PM box.

In light of some news, a DS/PSP section looks like a realisitic possiblity. Details later on...once we're ready to announce it =)

Ya know, now that I think about it, i'm very interested in this...

Panels and Workshops / 4chan panel?
December 06, 2005, 02:24:00 PM
I'll be damned if this actually happens. Its a great idea, but then, what about "content" control? I'm sure there are limits to everything, even as picture happy savvy as 4chan is...

Screw it - make a panel damnit!

I know this is really far fetched, but consideirng what did happen last year...

Is there any plans to put all the arcades into a room like in previous years before 2004/2005, or they're in the main convention areas?
#108
are you thinking of a gathering each night of late night, innsommic PSP/DS gamers?

Staff & Volunteers / Staff position
November 02, 2005, 11:58:22 PM
i dont speak for rovers, but IIRC, min age to be a rover is 18. I heard this area is in need of staffing...

If you want to join FanimeCon staff, try making it to the staff meetings - most of the dept heads are usually there and I know a number of sections are recruiting...

Quote from: "Spiritsnare"Cosplay billiards would make for some funny moments, but I'd worry more about the balls being stolen or somethin' o.O;

Do what most billiard places do - to get a set of pool balls, you gotta leave your ID for the time you play. Once you're done, return the balls and you get your ID back. Other places do it different..but yeah.

Gaming / Handheld gaming room!!!
June 27, 2005, 12:59:25 AM
This is so not a promise, but it depends on how nice facilities is with E-Gaming ^_~; but...

E-Gaming could integrate a section of the room for handhelding gaming and the what not. Thats if we get the space =P

Before this happens though, how interested would people be? (Lets see: you walk into E-gaming and into the handheld section. Sit down, load up and scan the network for games and you join in. All while sitting in a room all-fitting for gamers)

Quote from: "Acolyte Version 1"Hmmm, but I thought the room deal only extended to the Monday, with a checkout time of noon.  Like I said, it's very possible, heh probably even, that I'm in the wrong... which if I am, is very cool, because next year I definitely plan on catching closing ceremonies ^_^

Nope the room deal coverd Monday night too. We checked out Tuesday morning. So you will be able to catch closing next year!  :D

Really? *shoots self for forcing myself to drive really tired up 101 for 40 minutes* I"ll keep that as a note for next year...

My comments on my stay at the Marriot:

1) Excellent food service. That food is to die for when you got a long day ahead of you: remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it does HELP...

2) I thought I ordered a 2 bed room (ok 2 person)...I got one and I had to call in a roll-in. Maybe for next year, the ordering should be by the # of beds as well...just a suggestion. Also, a couple of my staffers that ordered the 3 or 4 person rooms only got 1 bed...that is a problem indeed...

3) The elevators felt like they were on NOS and at one point, sounded like they were gonna die from the strain of 'Con goers xD;

4) *random* had I known my E-gaming room was at the Hilton side...I would of booked at the Hilton...so I didnt need to take long walks =P

Concerning Arcades tournament - that somehow fell into E-Gaming's hands - that means it went to ME. I was dead pissed when I found out what happened and I had to make a decision that was going to suck hardcore, but had to be done. Without releasing too many details, I order them cancelled, because the person (i'm not naming names) who organized it did a number things that were not authorized by the higher up's + me (in some ways).

For next year, I have this feeling a real arcade division will be forum to design these tournaments. I dunno...yet.

Even though it is not part of E-gaming, I'll help out and throw in a thread for arcades 2005 feedback. This should help with some planning of next year.

Go to this thread that is the main FanimeCon 2k5 feedback thread and post there. However, if you want your input about just arcades, either thread is fine, unless i'm horribly wrong and need to be smacked =P
