Normally the returning organizers reuse their threads. There is a URL list pinned on the Cosplay! Construction, Tips, Gatherings, Advice page. The forums should start picking up close to Thanksgiving/Christmas because of the holiday breaks for schools.

Check out the Cosplay! Construction, tips, and advice topic. There's a similar cosplayer event, and they would probably be able to help you out with this.

Just wondering. Part of photography department.
Cosplay Gatherings allows our staff to cosplay, and we have photographers.

Hey, I'm looking for help from someone who cosplays Rei or has experience with colored contacts. I'm looking for violet contacts that would work with light blue-green eyes. I'd like something that won't obviously show my natural color in the center depending on how dilated my eyes are but will still be opaque enough to show that bright vibrant violet color. Basically I'm looking for as natural as you can get with violet contacts. They need to be prescription because I need vision correction and I'd like 14.5 mm diameter or less because I'm not trying to make my eyes look bigger. If any Rei cosplayers could suggest a brand/product that you have used that would be great! (reference photos appreciated)

I have blue eyes and I know how hard it is to try and get contacts that work with lighter colored eyes without showing too much iris. Pinky Paradise has been pretty good for me, and they have a wide selection to choose from. They're not as cost effective as some sites I've been to, but the quality is pretty good. I've not done violet/purple contacts before, so I can't tell you which ones worked best for me in those colors; but I generally find contacts that have 3 layers of pigmentation work well for my eyes without impeding my sight (coming from someone who wears glasses all the time... instead of being just blurry, everything is blurry + color tinting).
You could also try samhain contacts, they're a little higher in price as well; but again, the quality is there, and well worth the investment.

Thanks for the advice! I looked at Pinky Paradise but their selection of lenses with vision correction seems very limited. I've liked Honey Color's selection so far but it's still hard to tell from the dark eyed models what would work well for me. But I'll keep tri-colors in mind. I'm thinking maybe these: http://www.honeycolor.com/neo-sunflower-violet.html or these: http://www.honeycolor.com/eos-fairy-violet.html
I also looked at samhain and I love the customization options but $100+ per contact (not per set) is a little too rich for my blood.

I like this one for tricolor: http://www.honeycolor.com/dueba-puffy-3-tone-violet.html (at least if the interior shows my natural color it might not be as jarring/unnatural)

Ah, I completely forgot about honeycolor. They do have some really great contacts. I have an astigmatism in both eyes, so finding colored vision correcting contacts (toric lenses in my case) in colors other than natural tones is next to impossible for me; I usually just say "Oh well" and buy plain contacts. Out of the ones you linked, I think the first or the third will be good choices.

Have you ever wanted to do a Sailor Moon inspired Disney Princess cosplay? Great, we have the gathering for you! You can make your own inspired costume, or go off of an artist's rendition, we will accept and assimilate you! XD

This gathering is tentatively set for Saturday afternoon.

This is a shameless plug, but there is an Extended Family Disney gathering (you would be more than welcome to show up to that), here:  http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,18710.0.html
And there is also a Kingdom Hearts gathering just after the Extended Family (that you would also be more than welcome to show up to that one as well), here: http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,14604.0.html

Photography Disclaimer
FanimeCon will be taking photographs at this years' Gathering/Event. If you do not want to be photographed, please step off to the side while those photos are being taken. By staying with the group while those photos are being taken, you are giving your permission to be photographed.

This gathering has been cancelled due to low participation.

We only had one cosplayer from Big Hero 6 this last year. I'd be happy if there were a few more.

I'm in Sac, and I haven't been able to find anything in my area bout it. :(

I will be organizing the Disney Extended Family, Kingdom Hearts, and Official Disney gatherings again in 2015. I would love to have an assistant for any or all of theses gatherings because they all get to be about 60 cospeeps or more. Head on over to the 2014 threads and post there for attendance/comments/questions, as I will be recycling those threads. And be sure to check the first post for updates.

My wig is 85% finished, so I'm like 1/3 done with the costume overall. I'm super excited and Fanime 2015 can't come soon enough.

The first post has the photos from the CGD photography staff. Some of the photos are out of order (time wise) so I would suggest looking through everything by photographer name.
