I MIGHT show up in my Loftwing along with my sister and a friend in something furry related :P
maybe, we are arriving Friday afternoon...
#22
There is a chance our group leader is gonna be MIA.
If she does not attend the con are all our badges lost with hers? How would we get around this? Bring a photo of her holding her ID card maybe? :/

Arcanine and Officer Jenny shall be back this year (granted we can drag our butts out of bed if it is 11am or sooner...)
#24
I will try to make it with one or two of the following BUT we are arriving Friday and may not be there in time as we planned to arrive around 3pm
Arcanine
Epona
Crimson Loftwing
Malon (if I ride down in this I may be able to ditch my crew and let them handle the check in and luggage lol)

If I may add one thing: Do not hump someone in a mascot or fursuit

One would think this is a no brainer but last year it was an issue for my group more than once!!!

My friend was Gir last year and she had several people gesture at her with 3 different people who ran up and physically humped the suit, with one wrapping themselves around her leg!
Another guy humped my sister's Arcanine quadsuit, security saw this and they pulled him to the side, I am not sure what they did with him because we promptly left the area...BUT... from what I understand such contact is considered sexual harassment and is punishable by not just the con staff but also by the police system.

I understand you may think it is funny, I understand you are just playing (at least I hope to gawd you are) and I understand that when you cannot see the human inside there is a disconnect and you may not be thinking of the human inside. But for my friend she found it very gross to have people thrusting their hips against her like that, she is afraid to even wear Gir again...and I personally think it is disgusting behavior even if they do not touch you.

If it were a Sailor Moon cosplay you would think twice about running up and thrusting your hips at her right? Please remember there is a human inside that mascot cosplay, it is not a giant walking toy, please respect the costume as a human... please. Thanks.

My vote is for Saturday at 4pm, the same time and place as 2010 and 2011, I have already been spreading word that this time and place is likely to be the case for 2012.

I will have both the Epona quad (this will be her 3rd year) and my new Crimson Loftwing.

4pm on a Saturday is wonderful timing, Sat has the most attendance with many local/semi-local folks doing Sat only, a decent ammount of people arrive Friday and leave Sunday which makes Saturday their most solid day to enjoy the con, it does not overlap with pre-masquerade functions, and on a more personal note allows myself and my group of nightowls time to get awake and ready.

PS I was just at the con center last weekend, honestly seeing the construction was a bit devastating. I thought only the fenced off building area would be affected, the construction is much larger than that, all the tree areas on that side are gone as is the walkway area against the building.
Also the fountain is now a planter box D:

I got pics :D
Gonna post them on DA a few days, but first I have to ask...was that marriage proposal real!? My sister says she asked and was told it was real, that those 2 cosplayers are now engaged, but I wanna hear the same from someone else before I spread word of it being real.

(If that was real I am going to fangirl squeal so damn hard, even it was for show and not real it was still epic and made my day!)

Count my group in for:
Epona (Wolfgem)
Malon (Beastcub)
Ganon's horse (Ino)

Ryoko and Mihoshi made my day, for sure! I used to be a huuuuuge Tenchi fan when I was younger.

nawww i missed them, and its too bad i missed them and that you missed me, because i brought my ryo-oki D:
i was in my ryo-oki mascot style costume for a few hours after dark on saturday, i wanted to give her more exposure than that but the costume is so huge and so hot X_X

the deku and poe shop guy from legend of zelda, also skullkid w/out the majora mask. there were also many other great zelda cosplays but those were 3 i had never seen done before and they were not rush jobs either.

the super yoai brothers also gave me a good giggle as the unique take on the outfits caught me off gaurd.

#33
i saw you guys in the dealers den, the costumes gave me a much needed lol (and i mean that as a compliment, very orginal and it caught me off gaurd and made me laugh)

:)

i agree that the megaphone was a bit much.

also are they even protestting the con itself or just there due to the huge crowd looking to try and convert people? either way their presence seemed rather pointless and that it was a huge waste of time on their part.

hilton

LOVE the fridge, main reason we chose it, main reason we will go back. with bulky costumes in warm weather nothing beats heading to the room to crash for a bit and have a cold drink.

only real complaint is the door tried to eat us D:
it was very hard to open and with big bulky costumes getting in and out the door was a pain.

it was also kinda further away from the fountains/cosplay gatherings than i thought. i mean when i was told the fountains are in the middle i thought that it would be like "hilton-fountains-mariot" and it was "hilton-extra space-some building-fountains-marriot" BUT it ws okay because we were able to give the costumes some extra exposure by walking through the con to get to the gatherings.

on the note of room service bringing the pizza to the upper floors and charging for it, i saw some one sliding their card in a slot in the elevator and then pushing 18, so yeah, after a certain floor you need a room card to get up there.

but we were on 3 and it worked, what sucked is it took an hour for the pizza to arrive and yet it took only 10 minutes for us to eat our fill. and as a result of it taking twice as long as we thought it would i missed a panel :/ but oh well, after getting lost trying to find applebees the night before it was nice to have the food come to us XD

They might get lost in the mail. They give out thousands of tags and the cost will be higher. They will also have to send the booklet and stuff. And some people may lie and say it got lost and they will give the extra one to a friend. So it causes problems since some people are not trustworthy.
a fee to have it mailed would cover extra cost and time to do so

and having a barcode on the badges would discourage the "oh it got lost in the mail" lie to get a duplicate. badges would be scanned at the door and if they claim they lost it and the barcode turns up as scanned they do not get a replacement, likewise if they look it up and the barcode was never scanned then the code on the "lost" badge gets voided.

also i just remembered; for wondercon we printed our tickets and they scanned them upon arrival...

I am curious as to of why badges are not mailed out to those that pre registered? It certainly would kill a lot of the lines.

If time is the issue (I for one would hate getting them all ready to mail) then hows about having them mailed be optional and cost an extra fee?

If there is some other reason as to why they cannot be mailed, then what is it? Any issue i can think of (such as 1 person paying and taking turns using the badge with some one else) already apply to picking it up in person. Maybe it's an issue of proving age? In that case then could that not be fixed by requiring either a valid ID for any age restricted events or having a line for people to confirm age and get a mark on their badge?

If there was some way to get badges to people via mail that would be awsome since the lines suck :C

I'd call teh hotle and ask ahead of time, because with new security things (I learned from the Hilton) they can't get on certain floors without keys so it will be walking down or you pay for the pizza, tip and "room service"

wait, why? i mean if i as a guest can get up to my room why can't the pizza guy?
i am staying at the hilton, so if it is an issue then can i let the front desk know i am getting pizza and then tell the pizza guy to go the front desk and then have the person at the desk can call the room and i just go down and get it?

i stayed there once, they have chair, that's it :/
we were supposed to get a room with 2 beds and we got one bed, so my sister and i slept side by side with our friend on the foot of the bed.
