Would one of these make a good uniform or are you looking for something less lolita styled?

The second link is more maid style but to be honest I wouldnt get a uniform until after try outs. Also keep in mind that Lolita and Maid have nothing to do with each other.

I would have to agree with Pyron on this one, I love time period outfits. Victorian is one of my favorites and from what my friends have told me and are avid Dickens fair goers. Dressing in Steampunk its a bit awkward since it doesn't really exist. As in ACTUAL victoran era. Sure Steampunk is pretty cool and has Victorian elements to it but it doesn't give you an excuse to run around all willy nilly in steampunk. It could give people the wrong impression like those who don't know much about Victorian time clothing.

A pet peeve of mine is when people automatically assume that Victorian = Steampunk.

that and when people refer to asian things as oriental. You dont really say Oriental unless you are talking about the rugs lol

General Anime Chat / Re: Fall Season 2009

Kay so Far my winner is Kimi Ni Todoke story, animation and songs are so good So recommend this! Sawako's character development is interesting and the episodes keep reeling me in for more

as for Winter Sonata, as much I LOVED the Korean Drama the anime feels very 90's and Its a bit slow also I have a feeling that you have to have watched the Drama before to understand the order of the anime. But thats just my opinion lol

Hay gurrrl haaay dont bash on Disney they are going back to their roots (Princess and the frog anyone?) Don't knock it till you try it bro
The title alone tells you there's something wrong.  It's not "The Frog Prince", it's "The Princess and the Frog".

That's all Disney is about is "Princesses".
They had to change it because of controversy issues mainly having an all african american cast in the film, people expect that disney would be sensitive as to not cause any racial drama or whatever. (like they used to back in the day lol, dumbo anyone?)

Bring in the Wonder Girls  :o

*runs and hides*

They should bring in SNSD (Girls Generation) --- Even though they are Korean... Gee Gee Gee Gee is an CATCHY SONG.
2 P.M. --- Just do it...again Korean
Super Junior - If you don't think the Sorry, Sorry Dance Video is cool....you suck.

Go go Korean music =p?

-Steve

More like 2PM would be weird to get since currently they went down to 6 members (Jaebeom controversy) D: <3

Girls Gen's genie is so catchy *3* I like gee too! and as for SuJu more like GET SUPER JUNIOR-M (so I can salivate over Kyuhun)

I always say Plastic Tree D: you guys should totally bring them also, I suggest DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki they are so amazing and their song Mirotic (Jumon in JP) is very popular they have high energy performances and not to mention very good looking *3* they sing songs in both Japanese and Korean so a bit of both for those who want Korean music and J music

Thanks to all of you that attended the festival today... ;D  Way more people than last year and with the heat.  I saw a lot more Cos-Players this year...  Anime, Maids, Gothic Lolitas and some traditional festival wear.  I hope more will choose to attend future festivals in San Jose Nihonmachi.

Hopefully see some you again for Nikkei Matsuri, Sunday, April 25, 2010

Mizuki-san, Kazuko-san, and Cherry Tea Girl... Please let me know if your envelope was empty... If it was please let me know so I can credit you... I apologize for any error in advance.

Totally going to this!
Anyone going to cosplay?

I HAVE TO Cos-Play... My commitment made to the Spirit of Japantown Main Chairperson, Kathy Sakamoto four months ago.  I'll be wearing a 'Period' Costume... It's more weather friendly... If it were going to be cooler, I would consider wearing my only 'Anime' Costume... But It's all black and I don't feel like roasting in the late-summer heat... ;)  San Jose Nihonmachi is a nice little community, and their festivals provide a good place to meet new people and learn different things. I hope you're all able to spend some time here.

O: がんばって! with your Sengoku cosplay! I bet it will be awesome

I heard about the Lolita fashion show:

Presented by Baby- The Stars shine Bright - store that will eventually open maybe sometime this or next year. :P

I think fans are still trying to figure out how to work there :P

Overall take pictures you people so i will feel that i am there in spirit :D

The Fashion show is hosted by Baby and Black Peace now its featuring all the clothes that were debuted in Paris Japan Expo so its quite a real treat! I get to see one of my dream dresses in person!

Baby is actually opening this sat at 12noon lol the Founder of baby Akinori Isobe will be there along with Japan's Kawaii ambassador and Baby the stars shine bright /lolita model Misako Aoki will be present along with Alice and the Pirates Designer Kumiko Uehara.

Also baby is doing a Tea party but tickets are available for only the first 50 people that spend over 200 dollars there (lol thats like one dress)

There was an application process for baby where you had to send in a resume and photo (I know that coz I applied there and got an interview)
so have you found out if you have a job there yet?
they are still narrowing down the candidates because sooo many people applied. Keeping my fingers crossed

Wow better late than never, glad the panel was a success. I was nervous especially with the turn out we had c: lets try to do this again next year~

my only complaint was the girl who was video taping shouldn't have sat smack dab in the middle isle where the models were walking through It was kind of a road block and a friend of mine who was trying to take photos for the event was blocked.
