Who needs function... If it's one thing I have learned in math is that function and just about anything that needs functioning to work... sucks.
Let's see. Fanime, from Thursday to Monday, that's 4 nights. A human needs 8 hours of sleep to function, so starting at the very end of Tuesday, get 32 hours of sleep, and wake up on Thursday, and you're set. ;D
that works, depending on how you look at it.

but here's a good word of advice: try to get more than a total of 8-10 hours of sleep during fanime.

i paid for it the hard way.....
Agreed.

I mean, yeah I'll stay up one night, but not all three nights.

I hope to get heavily involved at Stage Zero as a participant...

I want to say that I'll be at the majority of the events, but if anything I'll try to get 6 hours of sleep and a good breakfast afterwards...and I do hope that come Monday night I can crash for a very long time, assuming that I don't open for work the next morning...

The best thing to do is pre-record all the dialogue that goes on...it beats doing it off of a memorized script or on the fly where errors can occur...at least you know that the dialogue is set and all you have to do is work on other aspects of the skit...

Quote from: "Jun-Watarase"I want to play giant chess. =(
Giant chess is overplayed now at anime cons...this would be something completely different...
Hell, you don't even have to wear one of those token hats! Your costume's your token!

Compare that to $60-100 spending on gas driving from Sacramento to San Jose and back...Plus, by taking the train you avoid all the Memorial Day traffic going in and out of the Bay Area

Not just any ordinary Monopoly game, Monopoly in the Park! Maybe not this year, but maybe next year there could be a full game (with each person representing different anime) to battle it out to be called the Fanime Monopoly Champion!

So, who's up for some large-scale board gaming?

Ideas and Suggestions / Anime Price is Right?

Quote from: "Akito Starwind"looks fun. But that is alot of work, Right now we get Donations from dealers for the charity auction. so im not sure they would want to give even more for a game show. they are trying to make a profit.
A full staff team just for a game show like that i think would be needed. from the video, that game was on the same level as Der Cosplay.  I don't mean to sound like I dont want it, but I would love to see this at Fanime, I believe if you really want to see this at fanime then Someone needs to goto a staff meeting and Spearhead this event for 08. I believe its a little late to put this together for 07. Any one want to ask the Heads ARG's about this. As long as your not saying yes I want to see this and then leave all the work for someone else then you may have a chance. Show them you want to work for this and you may find your self heading it for 08.
I'll take a look into that...

Quote from: "Otakuya"Best FanimeCon food advice:
-if you're staying at a hotel room, bring snacks and drinks when you get an urge to munch something
-go out to eat with a group
-make sure you have money for food, don't spend everything at the dealers room or gaming room
-plan out your eating times, you might miss a panel or show (food not allowed in some rooms?)
-stay hydrated with water (sounds like exercise advice, but you will use up energy at the con, there are people who faint from exhaustion)
-explore downtown San Jose, there are more restaurants than whats said already (doesn't have to be fancy or sit-down)

Here's a good link for all eating places:
http://www.sanjose.org/visitors/eat/distance.php
this should posted somewhere on the fanime program. I tell some of my buddies a good chunk of the above before fanime.
Here's another good tip:
-buy all your food and drinks beforehand at a grocery store or something like it. you'll save more than buying all your food and drinks (especially drinks) at the con, where they'll jack up the price and expect you to pay...

btw, anyone know any good seafood places nearby?
