Same! I managed to get a confirmation before the site started crashing, but it took me ages just trying to modify my reservation so we'd be on the waitlist (right now we're not even staying during the main days of the convention lol). This morning my friend had absolutely no issues getting her room, and from what I'm reading, others as well.

Just a hunch, but I kind of feel like Fanime shoved too many people into one time slot, at 12pm today. Juuuust a teeny tiny hunch. Just a little one.

Hello! The hotel situation can be a messy thing, though it wouldn't hurt to reserve a room at regular price just in case (though I heard that that doesn't allow for Fanime to have more rooms at their rate~ ;w;). Personally, I've gone on the waiting list after housing opened, and I've been able to receive my hotel of choice every time~ c: So there's the waiting list as well!

When you're actually reserving, you'll need to give your credit card information. It won't be charged with Fanime Housing, but after the last day to reserve rooms, you'll have to pay a penalty by then (this year, the last day is Tuesday, May 17, 2016). You will pay for your hotel in person when you actually arrive to your hotel. Also, while you can pay with debit and cash when you arrive to your hotel, using debit is inadvisable. Reason being, when the hotel takes the funds, it's directly taken from your bank account at that time. If you use the same debit card for your security deposit (all hotels require a security deposit for every night you stay, which will be refunded so long as you don't trash the room), it will take a few days to refund you your money, depending on your bank's policies. So overall, you'll be paying the hotel rate + security deposit, the latter which can be refunded.

You needn't check in at the very moment that it's said on the site. Most of the time, hotels will let you check in a little early if able, and so long as you arrive that first day, you'll be fine. I hope that made sense! ;w;

Bonus story: I visited Black and White Ball in my cosplay.  The song I hear when entering the ballroom is (of all things) an arrange of Remilia's theme.  Touhou cosplay + Touhou music = win  My dancing is about as graceful as a certain witch (as in not very) so coincidentally in character on the floor.

Ha ha this was due in part to me and my fiancee! We were cosplaying as formal Remilia (my fiancee) and formal Sakuya (myself), and huge props to the Black and White Ball department as they allowed a live dedication of the song to my gf while announcing our engagement! c: It made me really happy as a lot of people recognized the arrangement as Septette for the Dead Princess~

Are there Fan Events in 2015? If yes, what is the process for submitting one?

(The panel submission form says "if ... consider submitting your event as a Fan Event instead.")

I've been wondering if fan events are going to be a thing this year as well. Granted, with only a couple of months left until the con, it (sadly) doesn't seem very likely~ >: Would like confirmation on this please!

Hi everyone! I apologize for the late update on this thread, but I wanted to thank everyone who attended our panel this past year and the staff/volunteers that helped out as well - everything went over MUCH better than we predicted! My friends and I will be cosplaying from FNAF on Thursday~ c: We only have Freddy, Chicka, and Foxy right now, though we'll be doing humanized versions instead of the full on suits lol.

^^^ Yes! That's the very problem I was having. Since I didn't have a badge attached, I didn't know what I'd be paying for in regards to reserving a hotel room. My gf was able to bypass this by calling CMR directly, but even then a heads up would've been wonderful.

Quick question! The last part of the hotel registration is stating that "Your credit card will be charged immediately upon clicking 'Accept Conditions and Submit Payment'". Does this mean your card gets charged full amount? I can't seem to reserve a hotel any other way, and I'm hesitant to click on this if I'm going to be charged the full amount right away. This is the first I've seen this, so may I please have verification?

While I'm a little disappointed that I haven't received a response to this and thus lost my reservation, my girlfriend was able to get through calling CMR and winded up with a confirmed reservation for our group without getting this supposed 'payment submission'. I understood that we didn't need a paid membership with our hotel reservation, thus my confusion on the matter.

Credit card is safer to book with since you can cancel the charges if there's a problem.

I'm aware, and I always reserve with a credit card in the first place.
