Hey XpHoBiaX, I pretend saw you! :)

I was only there on the last day and in the hallway on the way to the dealer room entrance, there were these 2 girls with a "Pocky?!" sign asking everyone who walks by for Pocky. I thought one of them was really cute and wanted to talk to her... but with my luck, she's probably too young. Hoping that she posts here or someone knows her... and it'd be great to know if she's legal or not. :)

I only went on Monday.. the last day... and it just felt deserted... :(
I barely got to take any pictures... barely saw any cosplayers... and the only pictures I liked out of the few I took are of this really cute girl holding a sign asking people in the hallway for Pocky (though she was probably too young anyway, so that's a negative).

why can't we go nuclear? that way there wouldn't even be a need to refuel!

they should figure out a way to use human waste as fuel. that would help make long crappy commutes and road trips a lot more pleasant!  :shock:

well, you pretty much just explained it... you're spoiled. that's the reason you wouldn't understand it.
and this was Japan while being retaliated against by Americans, so the rest of the people would be more occupied with trying to keep themselves alive instead of worrying about some kids who can't do anything for them. and actually... even in America, there are still plenty of kids starving out there. Americans aren't all that giving as you might think. yeah there are organizations, but certainly not enough of them to help every needy person in the country. and do you honestly think the regular citizen would give a damn? i mean, sure sometimes you'll give them a penny or two, but of course in your mind, you're thinking that they're gonna take that money to buy drugs.

but yeah, being a standard spoiled American kid, not only are you not aware of how things are in other countries, you don't know how horrible things can be in our own country.
anyway, i don't wanna get off the topic...

oh well, i guess i'll retract my suggestion to use Grave then, as pretty much no spoiled American kids would understand it.

well, Grave of the Fireflies might be set in Japan... but i'm sure a story of a couple of children struggling and starving to death is something anyone from anywhere can understand... and in fact, is a problem that can, and does, happen anywhere in the world.

i think almost any scene from Grave of the Fireflies would work well. or something from any of Miyazaki's other films too.

i agree. even one of my misinformed art teachers made the rash statement that "anime... it's porn for kids"

and he's worked and is still working in the film industry.... though only with American studios apparantly. i just wish people weren't so close-minded and jump to such quick conclusions...
