If you take the Alum Rock/Mountain View light rail down to the Japantown/Ayer station and head onto Jackson, there's a Japanese grocery store three or four blocks down called Nijiya. They also sell some pretty cheap bento lunches.

My best friend's birthday was today and I usually do something big and special for her. Did my thing and now I'm here to plan next year's big thing. Would anyone be interested in helping me record a short 20-30 second video for her next birthday? I'm planning on gathering as many cosplayers and congoers into a large group to yell out "Happy birthday, Michelle!" on cue. We'll most likely meet in front of the convention center since foot that's where a lot of people congregate at all times of the day. If not, then we'll probably gather at Cesar Chavez Park around the wooden snake.

Now this is not a reason to act unresponsible but an earnest request to do something big for my friend.

Another video I'd be interested in doing is a large group of cosplayers and congoers dancing as result of other people dancing, a sort of dance chain reaction starting with only one person and growing. Done responsibly and with respect to others and the convention center itself, of course. This would most likely happen in the same places mentioned above.

Any ideas on other large group birthday greetings are welcome, within the bounds of reality. Eccentricity is encouraged but I'd like to maintain a certain level or everyday casualness.

If any of you wish to build your own box robot in the future and would like a few pointers, I'd be glad to help.
Also, as a consolation, you may post an origami diagram for something and I'll be sure to make it for you and hand it over during Fanime. I'm not an expert but I'll try my best to fold moderately difficult designs and simple designs. Please keep your requests modest.

We have less than a month left so don't feel bad if you did not win because Fanime is almost here!  ;)

I've decided to put an extension on yesterday's question and today's question will be posted tomorrow at 4 PM (PST). So far no one has answered the main question correctly. Heading north from the station and turning right onto Jackson puts you straight in Japantown. Down the street are a few restaurants but what I'm interested in is the grocery store. Name this grocery store for 2 points.

On a side note, this place sells decent bento lunches for $4.99 exactly. I often go there for lunch.  :D

My favorite thing about Fanime is being able to be a spaz. Sure, you can be a spaz anytime you want but some things are just more normal at an anime convention. Ironically, I hardly watch anime while there. Oh yeah, I love wasting my money in the dealer's room. I practically leave broke each year.

I've been Shionami (Sea salt) for a few years now, like the ice cream in Kingdom Hearts. I always hang a bell around my neck and use it as a lanyard for my badge.   :D
