Look up anything you want to get the answers. The questions are so hard that you probably will not know any of the answers from memory. Instead, you will need to do research into the real world of such topics as art, geography, history, literature, music and science. This FanimeCon 2026 Quiz is scheduled to begin on its website on May 1, 2026. Print out the pdf file and circle the correct answers. Good luck.

WIN A PS5 AT THE EXTREMELY HARD TAKE-HOME ANIME QUIZ!  This is a multiple-choice, open-book, take-home quiz that begins on the Fanime-con site (on May 2) three weeks before the convention.  You are encouraged to use any resource at your disposal.  Some of the questions will test your understanding and ability to analyze anime, not just your memory.  Instead, you will need to do research into the real world of such topics as art, geography, history, literature, music and science.  The answers to the questions will provide additional context and meaning to the anime that you already enjoy.

The quiz is now posted.  There is a typographical error on Question 49. It should say Episode 12 instead of Episode 2. This should not be a problem because you can derive the correct answer without watching the anime.

Fanime has accepted the 2019 Extremely Hard Take-Home Quiz.  I am very busy making last moment preparations, but it should be available on the Fanime web site on Friday, May 3.  This year, the grand prize will be a Nintendo Switch.

This panel is being run at Kumoricon in Portland, Oregon on October 27, 2018.  It is not dead.

The 2018 Extremely Hard Take-Home Anime Quiz is done.  The average score was 47 percent and the winning score was 68 percent.  Prizes awarded in 2018 included:

I think many fans still cosplay from Black Butler.  However, few people still use forums.  For my part, I have a Lord Trancy costume and will join a photoshoot if available.
