Gaming / Dance Dance Fanime! 2006 DDR Tourney

Quote from: sol.chThe main problem is that I'm having a very, very hard time adjusting to those solo arrows on DDR.  When I'm playing songs like Waka Laka, it's near impossible to see those arrows when I'm going over 500 BPM with the firecrackers in the background :(.  My accuracy drops like no other on DDR for some reason, I'm assuming it's because ITG had Fantastic+Excellent, and DDR is all PA.

Try playing Nonstop/Oni to enable Marvelouses.

Still not the same.  This sounds lame, but small things such as the arrows (even the stationary ones) bother me enough to throw in a few greats.  On ITG, I've "AAA"d (Fantastics+Excellents) all the way up to 10-footer experts/Challenge and even ***'d 7-8 footer Hard/Standards...

but on DDR, I can't even AAA Butterfly <_<.  Yes, I know timing is a bit tighter on DDR, but nonetheless it just FEELS different.  Anyone who has played on an ITG2 dedicab and a good conditioned DDR Extreme machine knows what I'm talking about.

If I'm able to verify that I can attend this con, I'll work on just DDR for this tourney so I can get back and sharpening up my DDR.  Hopefully I'll be good enough to take 3rd, seems Oni and Khai will take 1st + 2nd unless some mysterious foe pops in out of nowhere and AAAs PSMO before our eyes or I manage to improve like hella and finally AA that #@%*n PSMO.

most definitely going to enter, though it's been very long since I played DDR...not when an ITG2 dedicab is so close to my home... ....but let's see what happens.

My list of the most disappointing (yes, in order):

Tenjou Tenge (the first fight + Maya hinted at a great first impression...then it all goes tumbling down.)
Naruto (after episode 19, I expected it to get even better.  It was doing fine all the way up till the mid-70s, then it starts going downhill from there until around episode 100ish, where it just becomes utter trash.)
Piano (not very well known, but it started out as a crappy show.  I gave it time to reach some sort of peak...and...well, goes from bad to worse. )
Suzuka (Similar situation with Piano...started out decently/not so well, gave it a chance and after the last episode, realized how much time I've wasted giving this show a chance.  Went from bad to worse, with an ending that was just stupid.)

General Anime Chat / When I watched (?), I cried...
March 27, 2006, 09:51:06 PM
My list of the most tear-jerking (yes, in order):

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (the ending...just freakin amazing.  Course, it can't beat Tae Guk Gi, but yeah...I think a tear managed to come out of my eye when he...ok, won't spoil. :P)
Full Moon o Sagashite (one of few movies/shows where I cry over a happy ending...well, I wasn't sobbing..but my eyes got teary, and yes..that rarely happens.  When Takuto...dang, can't spoil.  But yes, also one of my biggest favorites.)
Naruto Episode 19 (need I say more?  The snow, the two laying there...perfect and definitely had my eyes water.)
SaiKano (though throughout the whole series I was just plain bothered by the character drawings, the ending really hit me and I found myself depressed for a couple of days.  Won't go into details here either since I'd have to hint at spoilers to explain...)

My list of the funniest (yes, in order):

Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu? (I don't care what everyone says, Bonta-kun + the comic relief between Sagara and Chidori had me laughing in  nearly every single episode...)
Azumanga Daioh (cute humor, and Osaka receives the funniest character award.  Chiyo's father owned the show too.)
Great Teacher Onizuka (not just the best in drama, but the humor is top notch as well.  The way Onizuka handles things is just hysterical.)
School Rumble (ok, can't beat Azumanga, but Tenma can be such a klutz sometimes that I can't help but laugh out of sheer sympathy...)

General Anime Chat / Bloodiest anime ever
March 27, 2006, 09:39:44 PM
My list of the bloodiest (yes, in order):

Elfen Lied (First episode gave a great first impression, and even though there isn't as much later on, the story continues to be awesome and blood is still aplenty.)
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (lots of blood, but very humorous...think its "grotesque humor" or something like that...)
Berserk (serious and dark, and to accomodate the violent medieval-ish fights, the gallons of blood.)
Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Reminiscence (ok, not as much blood, but worth mentioning because it's one of my favorite series...and yes, there's enough blood to put it in 4th :D)
