OK, so here is a (belated?) outline update / addition
just some stuff we did at the Animation on Display zombie panel

I) Zombies in Pop-Culture
A focus on Movies, Video games, and of course Anime portrayals of zombies. The main purpose is to explore what different kinds of zombies have existed, starting with the classic shamblers and moving to the thrillers and finally the sprinters and such.
    A) Movie
    B) Video Games
    C) Anime

II) Zombies in Real Life
Covered by the zombies Cameron and Hunter
How could a zombie exist in real life? Audience will be asked about their favorite interpretations of zombies from the pop-culture section, and they will be compared to the actual likelyhood of zombies.
    A) Viral origins of zombies
       1) Rabies
       2) Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease / Mad Cow
    B) Zombies must be living
       1) Required organs and body systems must be functioning to produce autonomous creature
       2) Nervous system will not register properly, limbic system will not function

III) The start of the Plague
Where will the virus begin to spread, what should you do at the beginning of the outbreak
    A) Avoid public Transportation
    B) Avoid large Cities (San Jose)

IV) Survival
     A) Transportation
Slamming into a zombie at 40mph will wreck your car, but pushing them out of the way at 3mph is fine
Hybrid vehicles are quiet and more fuel efficient
Motorcycles are more maneuverable and are faster than a large vehicle but also leave you more open and carry fewer supplies
get a hybrid (or electric) pickup truck
     B) Destination
         Need food
         Need shelter
     C) Defense
Clothing - Full body coverage to avoid any contact with blood. Even a scratch from a zombie's dirty fingernails can transmit the virus
Who to Travel with - According to anime, only Japanese school girls

V) WEAPONS
Everyone's favorite, what weapons would be useful. This is a good topic to get the audience involved, so ask for ideas from audience and critique.
        - When an audience member suggests a firearm, begin special secret participation demonstration!
Try to steer audience away from just listing variations on the same gun. Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun are as detailed as those guns need to be. Crossbow would be a different firearm, so there are still plenty to choose

VI) Q&A
Any questions the audience still has will be answered, improvisation will be required

I think this gives a pretty good skeleton to the whole event. This was about as detailed as the outline of our last panel. Just make a few notes about specifics, like the names of movies or some important points and the panel should be great!

I see that Panel registrations are open. I would like to register our panel within the next week. I am planning on asking for 1 hour in the evening, and requesting microphones and a projector we can hook up our laptop to. Do you two have any other thoughts? As of now it will be the three of us and one of my friends hosting.

If Jaidin is free that weekend I'd be willing to take the drive out to the city for your next presentation.
Wow, It would be great if we are able to meet at AOD in Feb.

Hey, Alright!

I think that this will link to the pre-panel preparation discussion. It is in a separate group just for us.

Our schedules are proving difficult to have us all get together at once, so I posted a preliminary outline of some topics to cover. Feel free to post more or make revisions to the outline (If you can, I've never used a facebook group page like this before).

Is Panel registration on Friday, too?

Actually we don't all have facebook pages. We mainly use Google chat and Skype when we need to internet-chat.
I just made a page under the name Prenomen Sobriquet Cognomen (just to be extra sneaky).
I have also made a Facebook organization called "Zombie Outbreak Response Team" that everyone can use to communicate. When we get closer to the con we can also use the page to gather interest in the panel. I haven't presented at a con as big as Fanime, so I'm excited for the possibilities!
Oh, and my real name is Hunter!

Hey there! I am a member of a small group that loves to do zombie panels at conventions. The next one we are doing is at Animation on Display in San Francisco http://www.aodsf.org/aod/events/panels/. We started with making a professional-level Zombie Apocalypse Webinar (http://www.provpubs.com/webinars/zombie-dvd/) and have had great success bringing humorous short zombie videos and interesting panel topics. One of the most popular things we have done is having one panelist cosplay as a zombie and field a QA session about life as a zombie. We have mixed serious emergency survival techniques with humor to keep it enjoyable. I have even created custom zombie-themed presentation software to improve on the typical power-point slides that are used by most panelists.

I think it would be great if we worked together to make a Fanime Zombie Panel the best it could be. Right now we have one member between jobs, so there are only three of us who can go Con-hopping. If we all worked together I know that we could create some intriguing content for this panel, more people working together would make for an easier time both writing and presenting. I would like everyone who wants to present a zombie panel to be able to, so let me know what you think. Only half a year left!
