Its going to take place at Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco this weekend. I would really love to go but I don't have a lot of money so I would have to share a room with maybe 1 or 2 other people. All of my friends are busy around this time so I couldn't go with them. I am willing to meet new people and this would be a nice way to kind of have my own little pre-Fanime 2013 party.

Even if there aren't any people who can room with me, I would still like to know who's gonna go. c: If you are, email me at [email protected]

Hey I know this is like 3 years later, but are you still selling pokemon cards? Because me and a bunch of friends are so down to buy those cards.

Hey everyone, I know its really early in the year to talk about what panels we should be planning for a con in Spring 2013, but something me and my friends would really like to see is a Pokemon Nuzlocke panel. A Nuzlocke Challenge is just a higher difficulty of playing the Pokemon game so even if people don't know what it is, it will still be a great panel for pokemon fans to come to. Is there anyone who would be interested in it?

Like Azreale said, they don't just only have sushi, haha. But there is another place called Tandoori where they make some really good Indian food too and I haven't met anybody yet who doesn't like Indian food.

That sounds cool, EarlGrey, I'll have to check out your comic. I won't be bringing my Snivy gijinka to the gathering (Giovanni is where it's at, after all), but here's a picture of it anyways: http://worldcosplay.net/photo/13744/ I still need to make my Leaf Blade prop for it, tho'.

Omg! Your snivy cosplay is so pimp! But yeah, Giovanni>Snivy Gijinka

Thanks, that's what I was aiming for, give or take. I read a bit of your webcomic, I'm enjoying it so far. I'm just at the part where they're in the first gym, but I'm liking Audrey.

Thanks! My art gets a little better progressively because after the gym battle I switch from PhotoshopCS to CS5 (big ass jump!)

:) I like the art! I'll check it out soon.

Fanimes so soon!!! :D Only 4 more days until this gathering!! :D So, Where do we wanna go for lunch or dinner or whatever were doing? (AKA probably dinner?) XD I will make a shout-out at the gathering, but I need to know what people want. Is Johnny Rockets cool, or do you want to do something else?

Haha, oh man I don't think you want to go to Jhonny Rockets, that place is going to be maaad crowded. I know a little-known japanese restaurant that I stumbled into last year its called Tengu Sushi

http://tengusushi.sjsufood.com/company/tengusushi/?session=a627645caf5b9fd04510190a932308d2 this is where it is---> http://www.mapquest.com/maps?address=111+Paseo+de+San+Antonio&city=San+Jose&state=CA&zipcode=95112

Its reeeaaally well priced and there weren't a lot of people when I was there during con days. (I just hope I can find it again)

That or Tandoori.

Um hey everyone! I don't have cosplay or anything for the event, but I will be coming with a lot of Pokemon Gijinka art! Um, I have a comic series called Pokemon Gijinka Nuzlocke Challenge that you can check out here http://poopgreyxx.deviantart.com/gallery/33073278 and I also just finished a copic drawing of a serperior gijinka that I will be bringing.

I hope to see lots of Pokemon Gijinka! Maybe I'll even draw some people. I'll even be at the pick up day on Thursday. I haven't decided if I will go in cosplay yet, but I should be easy to point out with all my supplies and crap on the floor.

Thanks. c: I thought about the Swap Meet, but I think I'll be alright at the rate I'm going. I think the hardest time I am going to have is finding someone who would be willing to share a table with me (and who has a seller's permit)

So I read the FAQ recently and I couldn't hel but notice that this year you do not need a seller's permit, but the agreement still has a space for where you fill out the seller's permit. Do you leave that area blank then? Also this is my first time trying to get a table so I was wondering also where you turn in the document, if you mail it or email it?

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Open for Art Commissions
January 25, 2012, 03:03:07 PM
TL;DR: Look at all this cool shit I can do. Here is my DA http://earlgreyxx.deviantart.com/ my comic Pokemon Gijinka Nuzlocke Challenge http://earlgreyxx.deviantart.com/gallery/33073278 and I need commissions, here are some examples http://earlgreyxx.deviantart.com/gallery/34961390 email me at [email protected] if you would like to commission me and we'll figure out a price. I need the money for Fanime.

Sup y'all. I want to get into the Artist Alley scene, but let me tell you about myself.

About Me:
My name is Earl Grey, Earl for short. Art is not only something I do for fun, but it is a way of life. There have been times where was a way for me to survive both emotionally and when I needed to pay for my necessities. I eat, shit and breath art. I am between my Sophomore and Junior year at the San Francisco Art Institute. Not to be confused with the chain of Art Institutes. I go to a Fine Arts school. What's the difference? The Fine Arts world has not fully accepted Japanese Anime as an art form yet (unfortunately). But I love Japanese Anime and I owe Japanese Anime for inspiring me to draw. I continue to go to a Fine Arts school so that I can defend Japanese Anime as a FULLY acceptable art style by carefully studying the history of Fine Arts that possess historical similarities, critiques and defenses for Japanese Anime. I have a BFA in Painting and I am well versed in may different types of art styles.

I am also the creator of Pokemon Gijinka Nuzlocke Challenge:
I don't expect people to know me THAT well, but it might ring a bell for people that can recognize the terms "Gijinka" and "Nuzlocke Challenge". A Pokemon Gijinka is a humanization of a pokemon. Pokemon Gijinka are also rising in popularity in the Cosplay Community. A Nuzlocke Challenge is a set of rules that make the Pokemon Game more difficult to play. It is especially well known for these rules: Every pokemon you catch has to have a nickname and that if your pokemon faints in a battle, it is considered dead. You heard me right. Your pokemon faints once and you can never use it again. Nuzlocke Challenges are very popular because of how emotionally invested a player gets and it has inspired many comics, including my own. You can read Pokemon Gijinka Nuzlocke Challenges on my DeviantART http://earlgreyxx.deviantart.com/gallery/33073278 or on the Nuzlocke Forums http://s7.zetaboards.com/Nuzlocke_Forum/topic/8591873/1/

I also take commissions: I have a lot of history with commission work you can check out here http://earlgreyxx.deviantart.com/gallery/34961390 I'll also return to the thread to provide examples for people to see instead of hopping links. This is also just a fraction of the commission work I have done as well, I have done much more in the past and my customers have always been satisfied. I always negotiate a price based on how long it will take me to complete a task and to accommodate the commissioner. I have various ways to communicate, via Skype, Livestream, MSN, DeviantART or Email. Or if there are any natives in the Bay Area, we could even meet, but nothing that would go too far out of your comfort zone.

Why do I need commissions?: So that I can get enough cash to meet my quota for my Fanime Budget and so that indeed, I can get into the Con Scene at Artist Alley. I know it doesn't seem like much for a lot of people, but its a big deal for me. So again, if you are interested in commissioning me, my email is [email protected] and we can talk from there.
