Would I be able to share my notes that I took during the panel? I want to make sure I have your permission first.
Absolutely no prob. The more the merrier!

What was it you said about receiving demos after a VA class? Aye or nay?
Chances are if someone is advertising that you'll receive your demo after taking a class with them than that demo is going to be pretty lousy. It takes time to develop the tools needed to compete with the big boys in the VO world and you should record your demo only when you are confident and feel absolutely ready.

Good luck!!

What an amazing coven of villains!

There were so many unknowns going into Saturday - will people attend? will they participate? will they stare at me blankly think YOU FREAK during the face warm-up section.

WTH WAS I WORRIED ABOUT? You people are AMAZING!!

I'm looking forward to getting feedback and tightening up the hour and seeing you next year!

I want to elaborate on a couple of questions that were asked during the panel:

Regarding accents - It is icing on the cake to have accents you can pull out of your back pocket - It's fun to speak in an accent - so fun that it's easy to let the accent dictate who the character is but just as you cannot play evil, you cannot play an accent. You still have to consider WHO YOU ARE, YOUR INTENTION and WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO.

Regarding A/B reads during a session
. I mentioned switching up the INTENTION (that friggin' word again) but another simple adjustment is to switch WHO you're talking to. You would say the words 'I'm gonna kill you' one way to the bully that just tripped you and an entirely different way to your BFF who posted an embarrassing pic of you on FB.

If anyone has any more questions or comments please feel free to DM on twitter. Here's my handle: @leagulino.

How do you think a short workshop panel 'Forging Your Inner Villain' would be received??

As a voice actor who's played some nasty villains including The Witch in 'Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines' I'd like to walk you through the process of finding, forging and executing your inner villain.

We would start with some fun warm-up and voice placement exercises and go over some basic acting questions to develop each character. We will then take these characters through a simple improv and find your feeder line so you can quickly reference your newly minted villain for future needs. Participants can work with supplied images or bring their own!

No acting experience necessary - just a willingness to have fun and venture outside your safety zone while you gain some cool insight into the voice acting process.
