They did post it on Twitter, Facebook and the forums what the date would be. I also got an email, I'm guessing other's did too.
I was on Vacation that day and ended up having to push back our departure time so that I could ensure I was near WiFi. 3 hours of battling with error pages and website crashes. 6 devices, 3 phones with over 400 attempts at calling the reservation line. We eventually got a room.

I hope that you find a method to get a room. The waiting list, I hear, is often pretty successful as people give up their rooms nearer the time when other things come up.

Registration / Re: KUDOS TO REGISTRATION!

That really was incredible.

Last year, all sorts of factors came together to leave everyone with a sour taste in their mouth in regards to badge pick up. This year, it was a complete 180. I have never been to any other con where everything went so smooth.

Thank you guys. I know we all appreciate the amazing work you did.

I'd say that's pretty clearly a prop and is'nt really "gun-like" in the sense that we mean, so it shouldn't need the orange.

Thank you. I was just a little skittish this year as I've had props in the past that were in a grey area that no one quite knew what to do with. I want this year to be problem free.

Hope everyone has a great con this year!

I'll be going as a Little Sister for the first time. Took me about a month to make everything. Hopefully I can pull it off x)

Hi there, I just have a quick question about whether I need to paint a bright orange tip on my ADAM syringe. It's the first time I have done this cosplay so I don't know the drill.

I know that "Gun like props" need the safety thingy, but as this isn't really a gun like anything I'm not sure. I thought I would ask so that I can make sure I am all good when I show up for peace bonding. The syringe looks like this (http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/340/e/2/bioshock_adam_syringe_by_ixbelongx2xl-d34du96.png)

But I don't have a metal needle, I have a plastic tube. Pretty flexible so couldn't do any damage to any people or cupcakes... Ok maybe it could damage a cupcake, but people will be ok.

If possible I'd prefer not to paint it orange or whatever as I spent ages painting the thing already. But I'll go with whatever rules you hand down.

We don't care about what sort of shoes you wear as long as you are, in fact, wearing shoes. If they're really stealthy shoes we may ask to make sure you're wearing some, but that should be the extent of it.

Thank you, much appreciated!

One of the reasons I asked, was that I was wondering if this sort of footwear was acceptable. I mean it's in essence a pair of flip flops, and I am guessing that even if they are ok, that Rovers will stop me (Which I'm ok with, they are doing their job.) I just wanted some confirmation either way as to whether they are ok. I don't want one Rover to say its cool, and another to say it's not. It gets confusing.

Is there an updated costume and weapons policy for this year? It would be nice to know what we can and can't do, before the serious prop and costume making gets under way.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: When should rooms open up?

Last year a friend of mine, who had never attended the con before, decided in April that she wanted to go. I warned her that the hotel rooms had sold out in ten minutes. However, she went direct to the Marriott and managed to book two adjoining rooms.

I know it's a bit of a risk, but perhaps you could try that before the hotel cancellation deadline for the hotel you are in if you aren't allocated a room before hand.

She just told the hotel she was a regular, non con, guest. Her room rate was about $10 more than what we were paying per night.

If that doesn't work, I can vouch that the Double Tree is a nice hotel. They have great cookies at the front desk if you ask for some, the shuttle bus runs pretty regular and doesn't take that long. Plus, the Steampunk Con is pretty cool to hang around at.
