Big Event Showcase / Re: Guest of Honor (gift?)
May 26, 2011, 04:15:17 AM
To add to this, I'd like to know what kind of these we should bring for the guests of honors to sign. I'm mainly interested in meeting Tohru Furuya. Are Shikishi acceptable and are they sold at Fanime? I've only recently heard of them, but they seem like a great thing to have a guest sign.

I spent the first four years of my life in a hospital.

Things in the Universe / Re: How tall are you?

4'8"

I'm the shortest person I know, excluding little kids. I am always mistaken as a 12 year old.
Also I'm Mister_E's girlfriend, so the size difference can be fun ;)

Ugh, Star Trek is better obviously  :P

But I am Mister E's girlfriend and we did meet during the protest at fanime. Since then I can't really dislike protesters because without them I might never have been in such an awesome relationship.

I wore two outfits this year,

One was a white sweet Lolita dress with cherries on it. Basically the pic at the link just more finished. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1275440304&ref=profile#/photo.php?pid=30425384&id=1275440304

I also wore a Eureka Seven outfit on Saturday, I was Eureka http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1275440304&ref=profile#/photo.php?pid=30442210&id=1275440304&ref=mf

I like finding pics of myself from the convention, so thanks to everyone who took my picture!

HELLO! i was a Mario cosplayer for this 2009 con, and i'm actually looking for the shortest 19 yr old i ever saw! she was 4'8" and she had light blue hair (a wig) and i don't know remember what character she was. i met her in the crowd taunting the protesters out front. i don't remember if her name was Christine because i met 3 christines that day (go figure). anyway i thought she was cool and very nice, not to mention pretty! if you have info or if she is on the forum CONTACT ME! XD

I think this is me? I am 19 and 4'8" and was cosplaying Eureka. Were you the one with the Mario star that I hugged? It was really nice meeting you. BTW, I'm Emily, but it's ok, I'm terrible at remembering names, I even forgot yours. T_T

I asked this on another part of the forums and didn't get any response so I hope it's ok to ask this here.

I'm competing for a second time in the karaoke contest, I've noticed that people film and upload some videos from this event. I'd love to have my performance recorded and put up on youtube so I can see it for myself and show to family/friends. I would record myself, but I don't have a camera. Just a thought if it isn't too bothersome a request.

I hope this is the right place to ask this question since people are offering photoshoots.

This sounds fun, if it's ok, I'll try and show up. I'm going to be dressed lolita most of the convention, my gothic lolita dress from last year and my new sweet lolita dress.

It's so cool that you have your music list online.

Momoi-san does allow photo/video capture but no flash photography, so we are currently not checking for cameras.

For standard concert lighting, most cameras won't get a good picture (it'll be blurry). So, unless you've got a low light monster (and if you're not sure if you have one, you don't.  ;D ), the pictures won't be so good without flash. So instead of getting blurry pictures, just concentrate on jumping and cheering and put the cameras down. :D

Also, most of the time pictures will end up on line the week after fanime. I don't even bring a camera because all the pictures that I could want from fanime are taken by other people.

I'm so glad there aren't any tickets required this year for events. last year's Gainax event was really cool, but I was worrying about getting a ticket for it all weekend, ended up getting one that Sunday though ^_^.

I enjoyed this year's and last year's badges a lot, but I mainly wanted to chime in and say how much I loved the lanyards. Hopefully they'll return next year.

I see Kaiji too <333

I was very lucky and blessed that I ended up attending the event. I had been trying to get tickets all weekend, but didn't really feel like lining up with all the people who were tried to get An Cafe tickets. About twenty minutes before the event happened, I was at stage zero with my friend. This was right after the charity auction. I decided to hell with it and went up on stage and told the MC I would do pretty much anything for a ticket. The crazy thing was that there was a girl on the stage dressed up as Adiane the Elegant. She said she had a ticket but couldn't go. I then proceded to get on my knees and beg for the ticket ^^; No shame I know. She said she'd give it to me for a hug, and I gave her a big hug. And if you're reading this, thank you so very much! After I got the ticket I hauled ass over to the Fairmont. This was one of the best nights of my life. I ended up talking to Sadamoto a little bit in Japanese and ended up getting his autograph in my Eva manga even after we were at first told he wasn't allowed to sign anything. A part of me wishes I could have gotten a few more signatures or had come a little better prepared, but it was still amazing. Thank you fanime for inviting ganaix and holding the meet and greet.

Tl;Dr; I went to the meet and greet, got Sadamoto's signature, and it was amazing.

Bring VA's from a 13 year old series? Why? It's time for you to look past these old series and realize... there's 323242352354366 new things to watch that are current.

Tommy Feb would be impossible. With Brilliant Green getting back together, and their scheduled dates, unless she somehow gets Brilliant Green to do a tour date in the US... it'd be impossible. Though I'd probably like to see Brilliant Green more than Tommy Heavenly 6.

Like I said, it is kind of far-fetched. But it's more a wish list than anything else.

Oh, and I watch plenty of new stuff, I'm just a hopeless Eva fangirl ^^;

Wow! More people come every year. This is probably both a good and bad thing.

This was my third Fanime, but also my best. I had such a great time. I competed both in the karaoke contest and masquerade for the first time. I hung out with a lot of friends, met a lot of people. And best of all I met Gainax and got Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's signature. That was so incredibly special to me. I will never forget this year's Fanime. Another great thing about it was I felt like my confidence was increased so much. I'm usually pretty shy and have stage fright, but I was able to start conversations with many people at the con that I had never met before (everyone is so nice!) and my stage fright was nearly gone at the contests. I am lucky that I have prom to look forward to next Saturday or I might feel a bit depressed, but overall this year was an extremely satisfying experience.

I saw him twice. Both Sunday night. The first time he was playing Para Para Paradise, and later on I was with friends in the main hall when he came walking down. I actually took a picture of Sailor Moon cosplayers and he happened to be in the back. Its like "Where's Waldo?":P

I guess saint might not be the right word, i bet he pissed off a lot of people, but the fact that he was willing to bid 825 and just donate it back for a good cause. Seems like a really charitable person.
