Are you serious? Although it is a holiday, my brothers have chinese school and they don't really care about American holidays Not to mention it will be a 10 hour drive. I also remember that in the past you could transfer the badge to a new name because like you said we did pay for it. The badge to me is the same as a ticket to an amusement park. You pay for one admission, so someone should be able to go if you're not able to go. So even if Fanime is not trying to make extra money, in a sense they are. The price for admission have gone up alot more than what it used to be years ago and they can't say that the economy is bad that is why the price have gone up. I am taking business class, and to be exact the prices are going to down to be competitive. not sure where all this is going but i feel that a no refund policy is not fair. beside isn't it against the law? I thought in Cali that you have to have a return policy especially if you collected the money before the convention even starts.

I understand that you cannot get a refund but can you change the name on the badge? I'm planning to take two of my little brothers to the convention, but I'm not certain if they can go because of school. So if I purchase their ticket now but they are unable to attend, can I transfer it to someone else who can go?

I would still prefer the hilton I guess...I kinda hate waiting for the elevator at the marriott. I think this year I would limit myself to the amount of people in a room. I mean last year, we had 13 ppl in one room (double room) It was kinda hard having to wait on the bathroom, and there was no walkway because of all the merchandise we bought. so this the king room sounds pretty good for me!
I thinks it's going to be more than $340 for the weekend.

i have always had that problem. I normally register 20+ ppl but can never get them to register all at the same time to get the *perk* but its hard because not everyone have the money at the same time. A few years back, I would pay upfront first and hopefully get paid back when they said they would, but that didn't go so well. I wished we could just add people later until we can get 10, but too bad it doesn't work that way. So I registered 8 ppl for the first batch, and then 9 people later for the 2nd batch last year. Because it so hard to register everyone I pretty much gave up on the perks, since from what it looks like we don't even know what the perks are for this year. So for this year, I registered 8 ppl again for the first batch, and 5 for the second, considering Fanime is actually the week of finals now. I hope registration can go more smoothly next year.

hey this might help everyone for the 07 con. There's actually a map, that I got from the hilton that gives you all the information such as places to eat, super market (if you want to stock up and save money), and a bunch of other things that you might find helpful. hek, I even found an anime shop! too bad they were closed. :(
As for the vending machine, it sounds like a good idea but i believe vending machine are privately owned by someone other than the hotel. Some of them are owned by the hotel but ppl pay the hotel so they can place their vending machine there. That's why sometimes when the vending machine takes your money, and you complain but some places say they can't do anything about it.....happens to me all the time...argh

wow, a lot of the plushies you guys want, too bad they don't make them, or else I would want them too! lol!
as for the lastest plushies, I only know of the naruto one, which has kakashi in an ambu form! As for ouran, there's no plushies for them. All I know is that they have some pencil, pins and a keyboard cover.
I hope fanime 07 would be better too because I didn't buy anything last year!

well that's good that it's up now....

as for adding ppl who already registered to the group is probably a no...I tried that in the past but after you register then that's finalized.

oh I guess it was confusing, but group registration should be only $35 with the discount before oct 31st, but i guess because it's not up then the $40 is extended for 2 weeks after group reg is up.  But you can register right now without a group and pay only $40 still. But I guess it just give people more time.

I have a question regarding the group registration price. Right now the current price to register is $40 for an individual badge, and normally group registration of 10 people or more qualify for a 10% off, well that's what happen when I register for a group in the past. So wouldn't that mean that if group registration was up, then it would only be $35 per badge for a group discount???? But because group registration is not up, all that means is that we can get the badge for $40 after the deadline because most likely after the deadline it will cost $45 for an individual badge (thats what happen last year). wouldn't this be the same thing as registering for a group after the deadline and getting it for $40 for a badge. Does anyone understand what I'm trying to say?? Well going to San jose for me is will expensive trip since we're (me and 16 other ppl)driving like 8 hours to get there so every dollar counts.
