I'm official for Mai! :D I'll meet you guys by the fountain with a camera~!

QuoteAlright guys, so I'm thinking I'll set the gathering on Sunday at 4:30 P.M. at the Convention Center entrance near the fountain. ^__^

That would work for me if that's official. :D I can't do Monday because I have to check out of my hotel by noon. I was deciding to do the Bleach gathering as well, but after what happening to me last con, I'm not going to do it. I learned that smaller gatherings are more friendlier than the bigger ones.

I'll going to be at the gathering! I was wondering if someone was going to start a post about it.

I missed the last gathering because I was at AA selling stuff. This would be my second time cosplaying. I'm in the planning process of cosplaying as Mai. My biggest challenge would have to be the wig since I'm since a newb on styling wigs. I'm probably going to ask one of my friends to help me out with it.

I'm planning on being there at Fanime for the whole weekend so I don't mind which day. ^^ Nice meeting everyone.

Okay, sorry for the late response, I had finals XD

Good news, my cosplay has arrived! but the commissioner forgot to put sleeves on the haori coat, at least I'll be more prepare for next year as Nanao Ise. :D

Will be taking lots of photos of the gathering.

hello! this might have been asked already but i hope you guys can help me!

what papers/forms are we supposed to bring to the door when we check in? is it just our badge and seller's permit?

Be safe and bring your badge, seller's permit and a copy of the AA contract. :3 If you purchased your table at con, I would bring last year's receipt just in case as well.

And thank you imoto! I sure hope 1 hour is enough time to check in all the Artists... I'm sure it will be since so much paper work has been done ahead of time. ^^; w00t. Almost here~

What happens if you don't have or lost the copy of the AA contract, can you still check in? I thought that I have to check in with just the seller's permit and the badge.

Dayum, Fanime is so near! Curse you AP testing and academia. I'm going to have to do some last minute print-making. ><

Out of curiosity, does anyone know of a good place to get business cards done?

I highly recommend them: http://catprint.bz

One of the Fanime artist last year gave me that link and I went there and got my prints and bookmarks printed that way for cheap and fast. Plus, they also give you extra copies.
#7
Well, I got my buttons done and here is a photo of them. They're really cute and they're are about an inch. ^_^

The bookmarks and prints are on the way from getting printed and I all that I need to do is make business cards and those printed out.

I'm excited and a little nervous since is my first time selling at the con and I have a table to myself. I'm going have to try to be extra careful with my money and the items. Has there been any thefts of items or money at the Artist's Alley?

Looks like I would not be cosplaying as Unohana due to some communication/payment issues with the commissioner. I'm trying to see if I can get my money back on the cosplay. :(

I'll have a camera and will be taking a lot of photos! :)

Hello! :D

Its my first time at the AA, third time at Fanime and I just got a table. I wouldn't mind sharing it. But, please contact me for some questions.  However, I haven't gotten a seating chart on where I'm going to be located.

I really would like to meet you guys in person, you guys have some incredible stuff! ^^

Really? Ah! Thank you so much.  You can contact me via deviantART or email me at [email protected] - i'm very bad with forum messaging services.

You're very welcome! I think that you send me a message and I responded back. But if you didn't get it, I'll e-mail you and send a note over through deviantart. :)

whoa tables are sold out? Glad I snagged mine.  I dont remember this ever happening before.... nice ^_^ Fanime is getting bigger! Always nice to know more people are coming.

Well my friend and I are selling buttons this year.  There are 1.5 inches. So far I have made 16 from theses animes
-Elfen lied
-Tusbasa
-Haruhi
-Shana
-Code Geas
-Chrono Crusade
-Lovesless
-Kenshin
My friend has more on the way though I'm not sure how many.  I believe she is making them from
-Saiyuki
-Inu Yasha
-Disgaea
How much would you guys pay for a button? I'm been told everything from $1.50 to $3 by others
Also I can probably get 2 more buttons done by Fanime, what would you guys like to see?

Wow! those are well made and cute! I'm getting my buttons done through this site: http://www.modbuttons.com. I already have posted my four designs over at my deviantart account right here: http://taichichan.deviantart.com.

I'm selling them for about $1 each.

Its my first time and I wanted to start out small. :) I'll stop at your table at the con! :D

Yes, everyone, Fanime is out of tables.  At least, from my perspective.

we are still hammering out details on how this is going to work but i will be sending another e-mail around soon so keeps your ears open

AA Head"

Is anyone out there willing to share?  My friend and I need to know if it's worth paying the $300 plane ticket to fly across the country from our little Pennsylvania solely to be in the Fanime AA - meaning we can't risk showing up on Day 1 and praying someone doesn't show up.  We were counting on this for a substantial portion of our summer income. :(

We each need at least half a table (3 ft), but we don't mind being split up, say, across the Alley.  Fanime would be the 11th con I've AAed at (and her 8th), so suffice to say, if you're new, we can teach you a lot - from art tips to business tips.  We've worked large and small cons, notably Otakon, Anime Boston, Katsucon, and AnimeNext.  We are highly organized and will bring our own PVC rigs and help you display your work.  We are excellent table partners and will actually SELL your stuff while you're off at the Dealer's Room/Bathroom/etc. rather than just "watch" it.  Remember, we BOTH need space - neither of us is going to travel to California alone.

Me: http://fongmingyun.deviantart.com (aka, WoefulInfinity on Gaia)
Her: http://anarahk.deviantart.com (if you're on Tegaki E, you might know her! :D)

We are part of a larger east coast collective which includes http://prodigybombay.deviantart.com , http://tirael.deviantart.com , http://scadelaide.deviantart.com , http://betrayal-and-wisdom.deviantart.com , and more.  Seeing as Fanime and Anime North occur at the same time, we've split up and are scoping out both cons for 2009, so if you're looking for someone else from our posse to come in 09, please give us a chance! ;D (Plus, Anime North hasn't been too favorable on us, so we're really counting on Fanime.)

Got the wig for Unohana cosplay. Just need to get it de-tangled. ^^

I'm getting the costume made from them: http://myworld.ebay.com/come-on-cosplay

Had some communication problems with the seller. I should had gone to QQCosplay.com AFTER I send in the money, since they respond a lot quicker.

so I'll give you guys an update to see if I have the cosplay done or not in May. :(

Okay! FINALLY! I got an e-mail saying that I got registered for a table! I just need to wait for the list on where I sit. ^^

I'm sure hope so before the table prices go up. I'm currently checking my mail everyday to see if I gotten a table.

They are so disorganized, I send them an e-mail concerning about my table and here's what I got:

Sorry for the wait it'll be a little while longer till our latest registrees list gets out of finance, turnaround on that is usually about 3-4 week (slackers).  But we will be sending out another mass email soon to notify you of your registration. Also if you know the check number that you sent in as payment, you can see if it has cleared with your bank, that means you are marked as paid and registered and are good to show up at fanime.

I contacted Western Union number on the money order receipt (I'm a San Jose State student and got my money order there) and the money order has not be cashed. >_<

I'm starting to get a little upset at how everything is. >_<

Thank you so much! ^_^ I'm going to try to order my costume from Come On Cosplay. I asked some questions regarding to payment and adding longer sleeves since the photo shows the haori coat sleeveless.

For the wig, I saw one cheap at Ebay for about $20. The seller has positive feedback. :)

As for her zanpakto, one of my friends is going to give me some information on making a prop sword cheap rather than buying one. I might be lurking around the forums about making it as well.

I can hardly wait! ^_^ I'm so hoping that this goes well.

Well, if everything goes well with my cosplay, I'll be cosplaying as Retsu Unohana for the first time. Sounds like fun! I've seen the Bleach Gathering last year, and it was huge! ^_^ But I took a lot of photos of that gathering along with Naruto one. XD

#18
After talking with my friends, they are encouraging me to cosplay at Fanime this year. I'm a little nervous. ^^; So, I'm going to go for it to have some fun awhile selling my artwork.

I'm planning on cosplaying as Retsu Unohana from Bleach. If everything goes well, I'm planning on getting the costume at MoonCostumes.com since I have no sewing skills except for hemming. Here's the direct link on the costume. I've checked them out on the BBB.org, on and they're in the reliability program. If anyone has ordered from this site before, were there any problems?

I'm also looking for long black wig, and I was wondering if you guys know any good places on where to I find one at a good price. One of my friends suggested CosplayWigs.com.

Fiill free to give me any tips or suggestions for a first-timer. XD

I got an e-mail a couple of days ago telling me a confirmation will come soon, but not the confirmation itself. ;_;

Has anyone got alot of things done yet?  We may be having to rush things since May is around the corner. D:

I already send my information through priority mail last week, so I'm expecting to receive anything about confirmation. So far, I haven't gotten anything. :( I just hope that I get a table.

As for progress, I'm about halfway done with my bookmarks, planing on working on three more prints, brainstorming on the keychains and button designs. I'm trying to get all artwork done by end of Marc at least til the beginning part of April. Plus, balancing schoolwork along with it. @_@ Debating whether of not I should have the keychains and bookmarks laminated.

I'm just worried about setting up templates for the bookmarks since I'm going to get this printed at: Catprint.bz I met of the AA artists from Fanime last year and she said that they're really cheap on prints, bookmarks, etc. ^_^

QuoteYeah, my due date is around your date too...  You need a lot of time to consider the making time of the keychains and stuff.  It's going to be tough, but it looks like we both are managing well.

Heh heh, well, Lamination always makes things all clean and sleek. D:

Never heard of them.  How much are they charging you?

Well, from what I seen on the website, the quality of paper, size, color is calculated on their self quote calculator. Its on the front page: http://www.catprint.bz/

They also have free templates to use.  ^^

Still haven't gotten my confirmation yet. ;___;
