In the dealer's room!
I spent too long and far too much money in there. >.>

I have to agree.
The plane ride back to Chicago was quick.
The one out to San Jose felt so long and horrendous.
But of course, it took the same amount of time each way.

Unfortunately they didn't bring nearly enough merchandise and were completely sold out on Sunday...

(I told them to bring more!  :P)

You might want to contact Toylet, who was the dealer, to see about getting more merchandise. I believe they were taking rain-checks.

How can I contact Toylet? I honestly didn't see these phone charms there. AND I was there on Friday. >.>;; but it would be great if I could get their contact info and such. thanks, if it's possible. :)

They got the phone chains on Saturday, sometime around 4pm. I was waiting there with a group of other Cafekko to get them right when they came in, because we knew they wouldn't have much stock. We had asked if they were getting anything other than the shirts and the mags in, and they said they were getting another shipment of stuff in. We waited hours for it though, haha, and when they got it in... it wasn't much at all. Dx So yeah, it wasn't there Friday, and they were sold out sometime Saturday night from everything, I think.

I registered a few days after I found out An Cafe was going to be there.
I did all the hotel and plane stuff the night I found out, though.
I'm a bit slow with preparing everything. >.>

I'm always really cautious about stuff like that happening, which is why I always had my bag in my lap or when I was walking, I'd carry it to the side (it's a mini-backpack looking thing), keep one hand on it at all times and constantly check to make sure the zippers haven't been touched. You really can never be too careful, so I made sure to bring everything I bought up to my hotel room right after buying it, and going through all sorts of precautions like that.

That being said, I didn't catch anyone stealing (or of course I'd have reported them). I do have a picture of the Dokuro-chan cosplayer that was outside that I took from up in my hotel room though, and unfortunately it was only noticed after I uploaded my pictures to my computer, but there was a guy behind her taking an up-dress shot. Perverts... I wish I would've caught that when I took it, cause I would've gone straight to security to get those guys kicked out.
Same. I carry a shoulder strap purse so I also hook it across my body from over one shoulder and under another.

I thought I was being over paranoid but I guess I wasn't.

I nearly always feel like I'm being overly paranoid about things like that, and most of my friends give me weird looks when I start checking my bag at random points, or re-checking that I have my debit card or money with me after I purchase something or just on random occasions (yes, I do open up my bag and make sure every so often, even though I do have to pull my wallet out and all that). After hearing about all the theft that went on at Fanime, it makes me really happy I have that habit, because if I didn't, who knows what would've gotten taken from me. I purposely used a bag that's hard to zip and unzip for the same reasons - because it's loud and obnoxious to open even when you try to do so quietly, and because it gives a hassle also. I probably have to struggle more with that bag than anything else I own, but for a good reason at least.

Yeah...
While me and my friend were working on cosplay, our gluegun was stolen from a nearby table (that we could see). And while we were having pics taken of us, our camera was stolen (we put it on the ground to take a more accurate pic).

And...the most disturbing of all...
me and my friend fell asleep in one of the anime viewing rooms on accident and he took off his glasses and put them on the chair in front of him. When we both woke up about 10 minutes later to leave, his glasses were no longer on the chair. The thing is...these weren't just reading glasses or sunglasses. They were his prescription glasses for his horrendous vision. DX
So, unless someone popped out the lenses, they would be useless to anyone who didn't have the SAME EXACT prescription.

I was absolutely appalled at the amount of stuff that was stolen over the weekend. Especially because we checked the lost and found with conops mutliple times.

I was almost tempted to say that I will not be attending Fanime again. I had near $60 of stuff stolen from me...and a very expensive pair of glasses stolen from my friend. NOT COOL.

Holy crap, talk about overkill. D:
I wish I would've seen some of those thieves... I would've given them a piece of my mind in the form of my fist to their face.

I bought:

- V.4 Limited Edition Haruhi Box Set
- God Knows Soundtrack
- Death Note & Haruhi Wall Scrolls
- Visual Kei Grab Bag (For my sister)
- An Cafe Tour Shirt
- Air Vol.1 DVD
- AnimeDepot $25 Grab Bag
- Mushishi Vol.4 DVD
- When The Cry Vol.1 DVD
- DearS Official Fan Book (Friend gave me his store credit)
- Air Vol.2 DVD (Friend's store credit)
- LuckyStar Vol.1 Soundtrack
- AnimeDepot $10 Grab Bag

All in that order.

And thats it. Didn't buy any figures or anything from the Artists Alley.
Was going to order something from the Alley but everyone was swamped so I didn't want to bother them.

And where'd you guys get the Sex Pot Revenge shirts?

You didn't see the place that had all the Japanese clothing? Dx
There was a huge place in the dealers' room that had SexPot ReVeNGe, h.NAOTO, etc etc.~
It was all really overpriced though, so I didn't get anything.

I know they didn't have very much.
I was really disappointed in the amount they had. I was hoping that since it was a convention, they'd have at least half of the stuff from An Cafe's official site (the international tour goods), but they only had the shirt and the magazine... and then later got the phone chains. I got one of each, but I already have their cd so I didn't get it there. I was really hoping for the pink shirt and the rolling stamp. =(

It was the first Con I went to, and I definitely have PCD. I woke up this morning wondering what panels I'd be going to today, only to open my eyes and see that the convention center indeed is not outside my bedroom window. Rats. Everything around here closes at nine... now I'm just going to be back to being online all night instead of doing fun stuff with tons of other nerds. Around here, I get weird looks if I'm just wearing platform boots. I miss not even sticking out in ears and a belled collar, so it'll take some getting used to being back to normal and ignoring comments from passers-by.

Even though mostly I had gone for An Cafe (seeing as I'm from the Chicagoland area), I'm thinking that I might want to go to Fanime next year also. According to my friend that came with, it was hella bigger and better than ACen will ever be. >.>

I was on the eleventh floor of the Marriott with my friend. We didn't have much of a problem, considering we didn't need the elevators at peak hours except once or twice, and we just took the stairs up to our floor instead - which wasn't that bad either, considering even though we were a bit worn out after the walk up, it wasn't anything major. I think the only time during peak that we waited for an elevator up was right after the An Cafe concert, since we were worn out because of being in the third row of the pit, right in front of Miku. We didn't want to take the stairs, we wouldn't have made it all the way to our floor. xD

Anyways though, not much of a problem. Even when we checked out Monday morning, we didn't have a problem getting an elevator, but then again maybe people just weren't up around 9:30am when we went down to check out.

As for getting glomped heres my theory: If you are a guy, and a girl glomps you - WTF ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT? thats prolly the only time you'll get to talk to/touch a girl all year...

Not every guy is like that. I know plenty of guys who go to conventions that have girlfriends.
My boyfriend was wanting to go to ACen this year, but he has me.
I find that just as insulting as the whole BPA thing, if you want to start flinging dirt.

I'm taking instant ramen, and a ton of granola bars.
I took instant ramen on my last trip too, which was to a hotel that was really cheap, and they had a coffee maker in the room, so I'm expecting there to be one in the room at the Marriott also... though I've never been at a hotel that's that pricey before and I don't really know what to expect. ^^;

I'll be eating a lot at the cafe that's at the Marriott also, since I read into that and meals are only around five or six dollars a piece. So those will most likely be lunch and dinner for me, since 12 dollars for food a day isn't bad at all.

My friends and I couldn't believe it either. We actually had to hold one of my friends back to stop her from fighting the guys that were throwing stuff at us. ^^;

Ah, I see. I'm allergic to metal, so I can't have piercings, otherwise I'd probably look insane or something. I've always wanted to have all of Ban's lip piercings (drummer of Lolita23q), but alas, I can't. I had half pink and half blonde hair like his was last year, though. 8D But yeah, I won't be insane like that this time around. I'll be dressing semi-oshare one of the days, but the rest of the time I'm thinking of more of a punky look, just because I recently got clothes that will fit well with that, so I like to show them off, haha. x3
I'm cheap when it comes to clothes also. I only buy shirts when they're under $10 a piece, and pants when they're around $20. So yeah, cheap. ^^;

Ohh, air conditioning! xD That sounds good enough for me, haha. Was the fencing tournament fun? I've always wanted to try fencing~.

Picnic! Now I feel like I should make up some bento boxes and ice them until Sunday.
The plane probably wouldn't allow it though, they're more and more strict every day it seems.

Do you have some sort of IM messenger, like Yahoo or MSN? I'd love to talk to you more~

Kazuko - I'd love to hear dakku no magikaru adobenchaa! I bet it would be amazing live, haha.
I personally really want them to play Wagamama koushinkyoku, it has always been one of my favorites. Maple Gunman should be a must, too, because I want to do the hand motions to it so badly. xD

I suppose it could be true for music fans in general, but until I got into Jrock, I'd never been to a concert or been into music. >.> So I don't really know how it is, I guess. ^^; I bought cds, but never even thought about getting to know band members' names.. or well, anything about them at all.

It is fun to meet other nice people that are a fan of the same bands~ when I saw Hyde, it seems like most of the people around my friend and I were immediate friends, which was seriously awesome and fun since we were standing there for most of the day, but I unfortunately haven't had an experience like that since, and I've been to a quite a few other ones. Dx My friends and I actually got beer and rocks thrown at us by people at one of the Family Values Tour concerts, because we were there to see Dir en grey, and apparently we should "go back to Japan with them", but those were Korn fans, not Diru fans. Why can't everyone just get along? =(

It's so true! I've met tons of people that should just say that, since that's how they act. I've been using that particular phrase for years now, since coming into contact with some rather bad Jrock fans some time ago that thought they were the s*it because they listened to every single indie band in the entirity of Japan...

Average is good, haha. x3 Granted, I'll be in SexPot merch and stuff, but I'm nice, honest! I just decided to spend money on SexPot when my boyfriend gave me a generous amount for my birthday this year. >.> Overpriced. @.x

Haha, I wonder if there will be trees! I've never been to Fanime and I'm traveling across the country for it, so I'm really excited. I'll hide behind a tree with you. 8D

Ahh noo cafekko have a bad reputation?
:(
That makes me sad.
I dunno, all the cafekko on the An Cafe Media Vault forums are super-nice!
Ignore the bad ones!!! We should get along and help each other out <3 Thats what a real cafekko would do, I think.
Cafekko-unite!
I want to meet some of you there <3

Sorry for getting off topic.
I'm bummered about the reception, but I also thought it would be a bit difficult with the concert just a few hours after?

Lots of Jrock fans have bad reputations, really. I've been to a few Jrock concerts here in the states (Hyde in 06', Dir en grey more than once, etc etc) and I just have to get it out that there are tons of elitist pricks. The ones that might as well just say "Well, I've been a fan of *insert band name here*'s since before they even knew they were going to be a band!" because of the way they talk and act. I just got into Jrock back in 05, and I've gotten talked down to hundreds of times by people because I'm apparently "not a Jrock fan" since I've only been into it for a few years now, and some of these people don't even know some of the bands I listen to, and only listen to the really popular stuff like Gackt, Hyde, Dir en grey, and whatever other super-popular groups you can find. It's sad, really. It's also the reason why I tend to shy away from people if they look like they might like Jrock...

About the reception, though~ yeah, I was thinking that too. My friend and I were trying to estimate how long that would be, what sort of spot we'd get in line for the concert, and all that sort of stuff when we found out about the reception. At least it's one less thing to worry about though, I suppose. ^^;

what are those people in that pic doing to each other

They're a band called Lolita23q (my favorite band, my username is one of their songs >.> ). It's actually a decent sized pic.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v459/ShadowKitten05/loliku.jpg?t=1211357306
The original picture was on a flyer though, it was just one of their photoshoot images from a few years back, before Megumi left (he's the dark haired one to the left).
