There is a BevMo a fairly short distance from the convention center. I've scoped it out (I know, that's sad... This says bad things for me LOL)
google maps says it's a like 5-7 min drive...I'm not sure how easy that is for you to get to, though w/o a car. It's not walking distance.
If you need a ride, I can guarantee it's a place we will be making a trip to at least once during the con. Feel free to come along. At minimum, we can pick you up something if you don't wanna leave the con.
I don't recommend the 7-11 option. We did that a few AXs ago. Not worth even a short walk for the selection IMO.

My friends have a tentative 00 group, but I'm not sure if it's a finalized thing.
For sure I will be wearing my Sayla Mass costume if we don't do our 00 thing. I'm Sumaragi for the 00 group if it happens.
Whatever day your group decides on, I will pass on the info because I know of 5 or so other people possibly attending Fanime in some Gundam related cosplay (be it classic or 00)
We do the Gundam thing every year at AX, but many of us felt like migrating north since AX is sucking. Were any of you at the AX meet last year? I bet I'd remember you. <3 Hope you see some of you guys friday/sat.

I was attending an art magnet highschool taking costuming classes around the time I first watched Gundam Wing, and I wasn't fully aware of the whole hobby of cosplay, but making a costume (or 5 ^_^;; ) made sense.
I made a slew of costumes for that first convention (Akon...12 or 13 maybe? This had to be 2000 or 2001. I can't remember anymore) and a bunch of my friends and I went in costume and had the best time. Since that, any convention I've been to without a costume or two has sucked. It became a must do kind of thing, and I've been into it for about 7 or 8 years now. :D

That would be great... though, I wonder how they would manage the money & house aspect of the game. Someone would have to be willing to make prop houses/hotels.
