Hey,

As you can probably tell, I am also running a less serious panel, but this one definitely has more of an educational theme to it. I just got my timeslot for my panel on Studying Abroad in Japan greenlit, so I'm now looking to see if there are any additional ex-study abroad students. The requirements are pretty simple:

- Studied at a Japanese University within the last 10 years (the panel is about -recent- study abroad experiences, and it is a different ballpark now than in the late 90s/early 2000s.

- Studied at the school for at least 3 months (any less time than that, and you wouldn't have done much in the way of acclimating).

- Be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds (self-explanatory).

- Can sit a Panel on Sunday at 3pm-4pm at Panels 3 (once again, self-explanatory).

...and that's pretty much it. Not sure how many of these are out there on the forums, but shoot me a PM or post in this thread if you'd be interested in passing on your valuable experience to the next generation of ryuugakusei and would-be ryuugakusei...well, at least the ones that are willing to show up at three o'clock on a Sunday morning. I'll get pictures together, but if I do pull you onto the dais, I'd be more than happy to take some of your pictures as well.

Heya!

Just letting people know that Friday 11:59p-2a (rolling INTO Saturday, if that makes sense) I'm going to be hosting a stand-up workshop panel. We had this before AX 2010's LCS and it went off pretty well, though we could've used a bigger room. Anyway, feel free to bring 1-3 minutes of material that you're working on, just came up with, or have had stuck in your head and you're really just wondering if it'd be as funny to other people as it is to you. Our "expert" team of "judges" will "evaluate" your performance and hopefully give you some advice in-between their narcissistic overly self-involved anecdotes to improve upon your performance! It's always a good opportunity for comedians new and experienced alike to give new material a try, or even see if they think this lame, overly niche brand of comedy is for them!

Special Guest Judges: None of these guys are even all that special, or judges...they're barely guests. Buy they are funny to some people sometimes!

-TBD, we're still working out some scheduling issues.

Gundam Extreme Vs. (PS3) needs to have its own tournament at Fanime, and I will support it happening in whatever way I can. PM me or something and let me know what needs to be done on my end to make this happen.

Also, I'm sure a friend would be willing to help me host a Yomi (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/43022/yomi) tournament in addition to the accompanying panel I've been mulling over.

In the tone of Obscurities that wont make it, I'd definitely say BAZRA.

Also, you can tell me that they're disbanded/on hiatus as many times as you friggin want, but that wont make me want to see ELLEGARDEN perform at Fanime any less. Other bands I've heard here that I agree on, despite likeliness (or lack thereof) would be:

- Haikara (You guys are aware that they're losing their vocalist too, right?)

- T.M. Revolution/Abingdon Boys School

- FLOW

- Nujabes + Guests (His music is cool and all, but it lacks w/o groups like 5 Deez and rappers like Shing02 and Substantial)
