Oh I also wished they had more Hellsing Merch, I WANT A HELLSING PATCH!!!!

I talked with one of the dealers and said that Hellsing is not as popular anymore. He also gave Naruto and Bleach like another 2-3 years.

Rawr. I wanted more Hellsing merchandise as well! If they only sold only merchandise from the most popular series, I wouldn't even be at an anime convention. >>

Assuming that I will attend next year...I think I'll go as a Slytherin Student first (got all the props and stuff from random gifts...so why not use them?). Then I'll go the next day probably as a Death Eater (mask and tattoo may be an issue which I will deal with).

If I have time, I might also cosplay as Yumie from Hellsing.

I thought the Saint Claire was pretty good. The hotel staff were considerably nicer this year. They oversold in double bed rooms, but offered my group a suite so I was fine with that. They were also pretty nice when some of my friends had trouble with room keys and they were rather quick in getting towels and such to us. No issues with the elevators either...besides the speed of the elevator, but I didn't mind much.

*copies and paste post from other thread*

One person I unfortunately forgot to get the number of is a guy I met Friday night at the yaoi night room. I believe something akin to power rangers was on and we were pretty much chatting the whole time. Not sure how he spelled his name, but I will hazard to say "Jon"? I also remembered he decided to take a bunch of free food some people that were going to throw the stuff away.

Also, there was a girl I met at Fanime through my friend Lori. I think her name is Alexa? We were in line for the An Cafe Autograph tickets and we hunted for An Cafe buttons on Sunday. PM me.

Pros:
-The registration line was handled well from what I could see. Well, the pre-reg anyway. I also liked the computer registration for the on-site registrations.
-Artist Alley had an overwhelming amount of great talent
-Water stations and lots of them (I went OMG everytime I saw water available)
-An Cafe
-Autograph line on Sunday went smoothly for the most part
-Yay for programming and schedules!
-Swap meet
-Stage Zero was great this year
-Video game dealer was godsend.

Cons:
-An Cafe scheduled at the same time as the ball. I can deal with the fact that certain events are scheduled at the same time as the yaoi events, but it just seemed weird to me and more than one person in the concert line was bitching about it.
-Ridiculously long wait for Autograph/Concert tickets. Those who waited with me from the wee hours of Saturday know what I'm talking about. I know it isn't Fanime's fault...but does it really take 45 minutes after the scheduled time to open up a booth for tickets?
-It happens every year for one reason or another, but there is some wrong info on the schedules
-Lack of variety in the Dealer's Room. Personally I was sad about Yaoi Press not being there, but apart from that...I thought there was just a lot less things to buy this year.
-Confusion of where lines and autograph sessions were
-The fact that there was more than one instance of someone not knowing how to work a mac to watch anime.
-Concert could've been longer, but I liked it anyway.

Zippers and deep front pockets are your friends. If you have a lot of money, put some of it in a random place. I remember two years ago I put money in my shoe (not like money smells pleasant anyway). XD

Luckily, despite my carelessness this year, I didn't get anything stolen. Usually I make sure to take a seat at least one chair away from people when I'm alone and actually want to concentrate on anime. That helps tremendously...despite looking a tad antisocial.

Sorry for those who got things stolen, but at least next time you all will be a lot more prepared for such an occurrence.

1420. To think...had I perhaps registered a few days (or maybe a week) earlier, I could've been 1337!

801, I think, was my lowest number and that was last year.

How much you willing to chuck for the fire red? <_<

Nothing over 20 if it is used. My budget actually is pretty tight this year.

This is going to be my fourth year. ^^

Looking for specifically for: pokemon fire red and Never Give Up (any english vol released after the 4th vol)

I would sell almost all my manga and stuff, but I can't make it to the Thurs swap meet. D:

-Manga I haven't been buying for the past year
-Artbooks (You Higuri's Jewel in particular)
-Doujin
-POSSIBLY pokemon fire red (long shot, but maybe it might be in the swap meet? XD)
-shirts
-another messenger bag
-stuff from artist alley

I'm actually trying to buy a lot less than I have in the past three years, but I shall see. Manga usually is the thing that fills up my bag a tad too much.

Hotel and Facilities / Check in question
May 10, 2008, 11:38:41 PM
This is going to be my first time checking in and I am hoping to do so on Friday. However, I have to go all the way to San Jose after school (means unknown at this point) and there is a very high chance of me not getting there by 3 PM to check in. Is it possible to check in...through phone? I don't believe you can have someone check in that isn't on the room list, right?
