Although in the Hotel Thread I did post a question to HiltonStaff asking where the smoking selection will be placed, no response was given back.... ???

I apologize for the delayed response... but the areas where you can smoke are the front of the hotel (bottom of stairs) and the back of restaurant (smoking oasis area)

Does the Hilton have a shuttle to/from the San Jose airport? If so, does it operate on the weekends?

Unfortunately, we do not have shuttle transportation...

Cab/Taxi is the best option & the average cost is about $18-20 each way.

Do you have rooms with one king bed and can have 2 roll away beds for 4 people?

I don't think you can ever have more than one roll-away bed in a room for fire safety...if you're going to have 4 people I think the only options are the double/double rooms, or the suites with a sofabed and a king...but the staffer can confirm or deny this.

That is correct... King rooms can have one rollaway and double/doubles cannot...  thanks FanFicGuru

For my last crabby and off-topic post, since I do apologize for derailing this thread so badly (though I find it amusing the Hilton account has not posted once since I made my initial statement)"

The decision to go 100% Non Smoking had many factors and one of them was the numerous complaints from non smokers having to take smoking rooms during sell out conventions (fanime being one of them)... I apologize to you if you didn't like the answer that was given to you when you called, but the ratio of guests who prefer smoking rooms was outnumbered by those who does not care for them.

Hope you have a great time at Fanime, nonetheless...

A long standing concern that many of us share, fridges! Will the rooms all come with a mini-fridge or will we have to request one and hope we get one?

All the rooms have mini fridges...

Can I get the voucher before check in time? Check-in is 4pm. I'm aiming to get there Saturday morning and be at the convention until I have to check-in at the hotel.

Btw, great pictures. This is my first Fanime and I'm glad I chose the Hilton.

Yes you can...

I have a question :)

Will the Hilton Foodstaff be ready during Fanime :D?
I loved it when they were selling sandwiches on the last day of Fanime, like 8$ for a sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda+a choice of candy bar.

It would be awesome if they would provide something like that during Fanime, not when it's almost ending.

the food gave me nutrition, it did.

I will pass on the information and we will try our best to make that happen.

Thank you for your feedback.

I have a question about the executive levels. Do the executive level rooms have access to a concierge room? I know there is the executive lounge, but is that the same thing? What does the executive lounge contain? And if I were to get an executive room that comes with the free breakfast buffet, is that open on the weekend?

The executive level does have access to the lounge where appetizers, dessert and breakfast are served, but I am not sure that the lounge will be open that weekend due to alcohol being served up there and the majority of Fanime attendees are minors.  I will update as soon as I find out.

Excellent! Then I will be looking forward to my stay even more. ^_^

How large are your new TV's?

We have 32inch LCD's for the standard rooms and 37inch LCD's for the towers / executive level rooms and suites...

Important question: Are the stairs at the Hilton fire escape only? The ones at the Crowne Plaza are fire escape only, and it was a real hassle since I'm not good with elevators.  My first year at Fanime I stayed at the Marriott and took the stairs the whole time (all the way up to the 24th floor) cause I get so dizzy in the elevators.

Our stairs are not fire escape only... guests can use the stairways as an option.

I got myself booked up at the Hilton, from Thursday to Tuesday. I wanted to stay at the Marriott like I did last year, but Thursday doesn't seem to be available as a check-in day, nor does Tuesday seem to be available as a check-out day. What's the Hilton like?

A bit spacious with a mini fridge and there's not a long wait for the elevator too. I've been staying at the Hilton since 2004 for Fanime.

second'd. I've stayed at the marriott twice and the hilton just this last year. The main flaw at the Hilton is that their TV's (as of last year) had no AV connections for gaming systems or hooking up laptops to the TV. However, it is rumored that the Hilton will be undergoing renovations and that new flat panel TV's are a part of the new rooms. If this is true, I would highly favor the Hilton.

Yes, our new rooms have Flat LCD TV's and with AV connections...

This isn't written in stone, but because of the Hilton renovations as well as the increase in Fanime staff, there is a possibility that the Hilton will not be open to members. Please keep this in mind when you're looking at hotels and start to plan your trip.

We will keep you updated with the list of hotels that will have the special Fanime rates as well.

The Hilton San Jose is available for all

We apologize for the noise from the pipes...

Whenever we have a full house, and everyone uses the bathroom/showers all at the same time, it makes a screeching noise from the pipes and some guests can hear it.  There isn't much we can do about the sound, but it will be addressed once we get renovated this year.
