Unfortunately one of our cast members had to drop out as they are no longer able to attend Fanime, and the cast list has been updated to reflect this change.

We've also extended the audition deadline to the end of this month.

CASTING CLOSED

We've got a full cast now, but you can still come and participate in the panel as a contestant

Scheduled for Saturday 11:00pm-1:00am

What is this panel anyway?
DA Otome is a blind dating game panel. Much like similar tv shows from the past, we'll have audience members come up, draw 3 cast members from a hat, and ask those cast members questions without knowing what characters they're talking to. Afterward, they'll choose their favorite and win a "date" with that character. In this case, the date is merely a photo of the pair together and some other small prizes.

Dragon Age Otome 2017 Casting!

Hello everyone! After the rather surprising success of last year's Dragon Age Otome panel, we've decided to do it again! Only better. Currently we are hoping to expand our cast from last year in order to do a bigger panel and allow more audience members to participate.

Who can audition?
Because we have applied as an 18+ panel this year, all panelists must be 18 years or older. Other than that, anyone with a Dragon Age cosplay is welcome!
No previous panel experience is required.
Must be willing to join the DA Otome facebook group used for planning. This is a private group specifically for working on the logistics of this panel.

How to audition:
Audition videos are preferred, but we will accept written auditions as well.
Email the form and/or a link to your video to [email protected] with the subject line "Dragon Age Otome Audition"

Quote from: Audition FormPlease answer the following questions OUT OF CHARACTER
Name:
Age: (all panelists must be 18+ by May 26, 2017)
Character auditioning for:
Photos of your cosplay: (or wear it in the video. Progress photos are acceptable if you are making something new for Fanime)
Previous panel/acting experience: (if applicable)
Is there anything you would be uncomfortable with doing on the panel?
Anything else we should know?

Please answer the following questions IN CHARACTER
What is your best pickup line?
What would be your ideal date?
What do you think is your best feature?
If you could be invisible for a day what would you do and why?
Would you ever date a mage? An elf? Dwarf? Qunari? All? None? Why or why not?
What is an automatic turn off for you?

Auditions are due by April 30th
Extensions may be granted, but we want to have a confirmed cast by the beginning of May so that we have adequate time to produce prizes and plan the panel itself.[/s]

Current Cast:
We will not be accepting auditions for any of the following characters, but all other characters, including non-romancable NPCs, are open.

Hero of Ferelden
Hawke
Carver

Because the buttons for my redcoat didn't get here on time (and America's matching costume isn't done either) I'm having to settle for a revival of Drunk-as-a-fucking-skunk Rockstar!England.
Yay for the excuse to stagger around and spontaneously bust into song!
I'll drag my America along and we might abandon our AA table to check out the meet for a while.

I want to hear as little rap as possible please. Sorry to those who might enjoy the genre but you can't dance to it and it's not even technically music. It's just glorified beat poetry and doesn't belong at a dance.

Trance, techno, drum'n'bass and happy hardcore are what belong at dances. Anything you would have found in the "Dance/Techno" section at a record store.

I'll bring the glowsticks, you provide the music.

Live Programming and Events / Re: Karaoke registration

How hard is it to get into the competition if you do not register? I almost always miss the online reg for the karaoke contest (and in the end it turns out to be not so bad because last year I was in the hospital the day it happened), but in case I'm actually able to make it to the contest this year would I need to show up hugely in advance just to get a spot, or is it pretty open?

Live Programming and Events / Re: Piano Room?
January 13, 2009, 09:36:15 PM
I had no idea there was ever a piano at Fanime! I'd love for there to be one there all the time as I'm working in Artist's Alley so if it's only open for a certain time I probably couldn't get there. But if there is one I can get to I'll bring my sheet music and see what I can plunk out after an entire school year unable to practice.

Or I'll sing for people who are playing if I know the world/your music has lyrics. I've been in choir since I was 4 so I promise I won't break your ear drums.
