Life story: I honestly didn't think the hotel blocks would be sold out as quickly as they would. By the time I checked for hotels, only a couple of left that were not around the area. So I went off to hopefully find a close hotel, I was able to book a room at the Hilton San Jose, connected to the convention. I was able to get a discount by using my AAA membership; it's not the same as Fanime but still a discount. The only upside is that I will not be required to pay the $100 per night deposit at check in. If I can find the number of people I'm looking for it would be $103 per person for the entire stay which is the entire con including Day 0. I live in Los Angeles and have not decided if I will drive or fly to San Jose.

Info about me: I'm female 24 years old, I'll be 25 by the time Fanime. I can give you my FB if interested. If I decide to drive to San Jose I will probably be in the area around 3pm-4pm. Flying will be TBD, I have friends in NorCal and not sure when they will decide to meet up. The one thing that I find works the best when checking out is this : Waking up somewhat early to get dress and pack up, you can either check your bags in at the desk or where you plan to, head back up to sleep off until check out time or you may leave early. The closer it gets to check out time, more people will be checking out with bags and it means long waits. We can simply walk down the stairs to the lobby without having to worry about the bags. I'm not a "hardcore" cosplayer so I don't have many cosplays plan and they are mostly street clothes, so please pack accordingly.

Be staying at San Jose Fairmont from Day 0-Monday. I'll be driving from Los Angeles so hopefully I'll be in the area by 4pm.

Staying at San Jose Fairmont from Day 0(Thursday May 24th) to the last day of the convention (Monday 28th). If we can get 2 more people(6 total) it will be $67 per person for the entire stay. I don't have many rules, I'm a pretty laid back person. Just say that you don't mind there's a change of you sleeping on the floor. Be 18 years or older. There will be drinking in the room which you are welcome to join in, we will have regular drinks as well and some snacks. Feel free to contact with any questions.

Looking for carpoolers around Los Angeles area. I'll be leaving Thursday mid-morning and will be leaving San Jose Monday around 5pm latest, or whenever everyone is ready to leave. I already have 2 confirmed (myself and a friend in Bakersfield so one quick stop on the way) and looking for at least 2 more people. I'm not asking for much just that you are willing to pitch in for gas money, $20. I do have a few rules however: that you are over the age of 18, sorry I just don't want to be held responsible for minors. I can provide some light snacks and drinks but if you can too that'll be great. I'll have some music available but if you can pitch in too so I don't go crazy over that 5-6 hour drive..Also I'm not a hardcore cosplayer. I do have cosplayers planned but they are things I can just pack regularly, so I will ask that you limit the bags you have. If anyone is interested just send me an email.

I have to be one to say I'm somewhat disappointed with Hilton being Non Smoking now. My friends and I only smoke Hookah, it was great having being able to stay in the room without carrying all of the items outside of the buildling and back up. Despite that and the closest smoking hotel is a bit aways we stuck with Hilton. But it is the choice of the hotel not much we can do abou that. Although in the Hotel Thread I did post a question to HiltonStaff asking where the smoking selection will be placed, no response was given back.... ???

Now that the Hiton has become 100% non smoking, I admit last year I choose the Hilton because my friends and I were able to get a smoking room, will be there a smoking section now?

My friends and I are looking for roomates for Fanime. We're staying at the San Jose Hilton, May 22nd-25th. We'll be driving from Los Angeles the 22nd so we'll be there around 4pm or eariler. We don't have many rules but the ones we have are important:

NO DRAMA..please
We won't fight for the beds, we're used to sleeping on the floor, but you can't be picky if you have to sleep on the floor
We'll be drinking; you can join if you wish, nothing will be forced
Since the Hilton has turned %100 non smoking, we'll be smoking Hookah outside of the hotel in a smoking area; again you may join
Most likely we'll be playing games/watching movies or anime late night

So far we have 6 people ( 3 girls, 3 guys) all over 21+, only one girl is 16. We're matured and well manner adults and looking for the same. We don't care for gender (the guys in the room are respectful), age must be over 16. We're going to ask for $90for the WHOLE stay. Like I said before, we don't fight for the beds but you can't complain if you have to. We're a fun group of friends who made a group called The E.P.S. debut at Anime Expo 2007.
