Ideas and Suggestions / Re: FanimeCon-issued "Glomp me!" stickers/ribbons
« on: January 10, 2008, 03:43:55 PM »
Oh my. D: I never new glomping was such an issue. 81 This FanimeCon will be my first con EVER, so I'm glad I'm learning about this now, since I'm going to get really excited and maybe out of control. I'll need to watch my manners and energy while glomping people that are cosplaying as my favourite characters. x3;

Or you could just, you know, not do it all together.

Things in the Universe / Re: Who's going to Macworld Expo 2008?

This is the first time in the past couple of years that I'm not working within the city, so I think I'll have to pass. Before I was a block away from Moscone.

I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but I wouldn't expect a new iPhone. It's far too soon and the latest update has already been leaked out. I'd probably expect something from the notebook line though and a new desktop to replace the Mac Mini.

Done and done. This will be my third year in a row at the Marriot.. their beds are just too comfortable to pass up.

Hopefully, I won't have to argue with Marriot staff in order for me to get my free Internet access taken care of ;)

や・お・い = まなし ちなし みなし

No plot, no climax, no meaning.

やおい =/= BOY'S LOVE

Tehe~ And it was less than a paragraph. :V

Same goes to Yuri = Girl's Love

Yuri =/= Girl's Love

'The hell is "girl's love"?

You're Chinese.

The main dance is no doubt going to be nothing but animu music and electronica.

We NEED an 80's/90's room. We need it more than little Johnny Q needed a heart.

- Get in line early for Damn You Internets. Because you're going to have to this Fanime. lawlers.
- Pay attention to the forums and find events (both fan and fanime created) that interest you.
- Pick one night to stay up late and get a good nights sleep on every other night. Fanime may be awesome for its 24/7 atmosphere, but damned if you don't need sleep to enjoy it.
- Go to Hentai night at least once.

Gaming / Re: Rock Band, new info; drumkit fails horribly
« on: November 06, 2007, 12:18:48 AM »
I heard from one of my friends that the drums are not good. I still haven't tried it out yet so I don't know for sure.

Your friend is terribly wrong.

I'll find that out for myself

What a novel concept. Thinking for yourself.

whats this? im confused? is the game not living up the hype?

do tell. i dont want to randomly blow $90 on a game not worth getting... >.<

It's just money better spent on Rock Band. After you play four players, its hard to go back. That and the new guitars are poorly constructed ... the whole separating neck brings up a whole slew of fun issues.

Unfortunately, in the end, no one cares.

Rock Band is the greatest rhythm title ever created. Haters can bawwwwwwww and play Bemani all they want.

Wow.
if you're going to have that kind of additude, stop posting articles about pop'n music, since you know, rock band is the best ever.

You're not in a position to give anyone attitude lessons. Sorry.

Also ... When was the last time I wrote anything about Pop'n Music? 2005? Grow up and find a new hobby.

Polysics! Polysicspolysicspolysics @_@

yeah right....

In all honesty, they wouldn't be impossible. They tend to come out here quite a bit.

I made the above post a few months ago, so I think its time for an update.

I still don't think they're out of reach for Fanime, but as some of you may already know they've signed onto MySpace Records. This presents good and bad stipulations. On one hand, they're infinitely easier to get in touch with. On the other, they're probably a bit more tied up than before.

They just played a show here in SF this past week and of course, it was amazing. They're coming back in early November as an opening act on the MySpace tour, so its clear that they still love playing Western shows. As an added bonus, they love the Bay Area, or more specifically, San Francisco.

Just something to think about ;)

Where is this going to be located? I ask because I know that at least Viz is in the area, so yeah, showing fansubs and whatnot probably wouldn't be a good idea. Still, I'm sure if you email some folks, show them pictures of the place when its ready and they wouldn't mind kicking you over some free DVDs to promote.

Anyway, I approve of the idea. We need more nerdy shops in the bay :D
