The lobby will be the downstairs area right at the main entrance of the convention center. If you take a look at the map posted on the Cosplay Gatherings thread, BSapphire has a picture on her Photobucket that shows the exact location. And if you're still having trouble finding it, just ask any One Piece cosplayer where the gathering is. Most likely they'll know or find out with you.

Except for Zoro. You know, bad with directions.

So last year there wasn't really one, and this year, no one has made it yet, so let's have a One Piece cosplay gathering come back officially to Fanime.

NOTE:
Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

Day: Saturday (day of the One Piece Podcast panel)
Time: 4:00pm (before the One Piece Podcast panel at 6:00pm)

I know a couple of people who were wondering about hotel registration and how it will work for press, panelists, artist alley folks, etc.  I'm sure you guys are already working on it, but just a reminder that it'd be good to have that ASAP with hotel reg day coming up soon. =)

As someone who has been attending as press the past few years along with hosting multiple panels PLUS knowing many friends who participate in artist alley, this is very important information that must be known quickly. Do we have to buy badges first but can request a refund once press or panelist status has been approved? And most artist alley participants won't bother to register until they are certain they will have a table.

General Convention Discussion / Re: schedule

I remember there was some talk of a Schedule App for smartphones being tossed around last year.
Are there any plans to make one this year?

There's not a schedule app per se, but there is a pretty spiffy online schedule at http://m.fanime.com/ which renders pretty nicely on smartphones (full disclosure: my sample size= my Droid) and which will be updated when we get closer to FanimeCon.

Between that and the physical schedules (we really really learned our lesson there), there should be plenty of options for people to work with 

That should work out just as effectively I would think.

There's an app called Guidebook for smartphones that keeps the schedule available for download, this way you don't always have to be connected to the internet to get the schedule. Pretty handy when I first used it at Anime Central. They were able to keep track of panels, main events, cosplay gatherings, autograph times, etc. And there were even updates during the convention when panels were cancelled or rooms moved. It might be too late to look into using Guidebook this year, but would that be a possibility for using it or something similar next year?

Also, make note of the New NEW time. To make use of the front of the convention center, we've been pushed back to 1:30. So make sure to get plenty of food and fluids in you. 

I'll be packing a Straw-hat flag along with some iPod speakers so that we'll have music. Can't wait to see you all there!

Also, One Piece Fan Panel has been accepted! We're having it on Sunday at 10:00 am in panel room 3. If it's too early to make it at 10, arrive late in cosplay, because if we have enough people, we could probably have a mini-gathering right after the panel.

Hi everyone. I posted this on Cosplay.com first, not realizing that I also needed to post this here. I'm submitting myself to host the One Piece gathering at Fanime this year. I've hosted this gathering at Fanime a few years prior, but never using the official Fanime forums to do so. So without further ado...
