Greetings all, I think there should be a quad suit gathering for 2013 and I'd like quad suiters to join in on his threat so we can band together for fun and for safety. Sometimes people jump on us and can damage the cosplays we spent so much time, money, effort and love on making!!! We need handlers to be with us and watch our back(literally!).
For our own safety, conventions and attendees need to be more aware of the damage glomping can do to a cosplay and also a quadsuit. In a quadsuit we can't see or hear very well, so we need a handler and people do not know if there is a strong 200lb man in a quad or maybe an 80lb girl you'll crush if you jump on them!! Maybe the quad suiter has an injury and you may severely hurt them by jumping on them!
So if you quad suit or want to, please join in conversation here! Lets help each other our, old and new! Discuss quad suit options, materials, safety precautions and experiences and advice. Thank you. :)

I would find this panel extremely beneficial and I think we need more panels like this at all conventions. The only ones I see regarding cosplay are in regard to sewing and altering but the panelists at those talk as if everyone has a sewing machine and so it's like their speaking a different language to me and the potential audience.
My roommate just started leather dyeing (he makes custom and original leatherwork for cosplay and accessories). I would really like for this panel to happen and be long enough to calmly explain each fabric and dye type, ect. You could add a "what not to do" list from mistakes made to help the audience and also leave time for questions at the end? Seriously, I'd like this panel to be a good hour to an hour and a half if you are comfortable taking questions and are confident in your fabric knowledge.
You'll be improving future cosplays and helping people like myself out so much.

Panels and Workshops / Re: Con Horror Stories plus a LGBTQA Panel!
« on: May 04, 2012, 02:57:20 AM »
All I know is myself and my con crew have more then enough stories of humor and terror regarding convention experiences and this is only our second year attending cons! I think it would be fun for everyone to have an open mic where panelists can share stories and maybe the audience could also come up and share a story if they like.
We would want that to be somewhat reviewed though to make sure their story is not only relevant but possibly not hurtful since there can be countless stories of people wondering if someone is a boy a girl underneath their cosplay and also the ambiguity of age in cosplay. For example my roommate a dude being flirted with by a girl whom was a minor and he didn't realize it/felt terror when he found out. Let me know if I can help, I respond more to FB then I will here but I'll try to check here if you need me.
