« on: August 30, 2009, 12:39:33 AM »
I have guest DJ'ed at Fanime Con 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, and Fanime Con 2009.

Thank you Fanime for all the memories and the opportunities to DJ, Catching my dream of working with Kristine Sa and Nemesis Records, and to meet my mentor, DJ M.O.D. It's time for me to move on to new projects and new musical journeys.

Lord Katsuhiko Jinnai has left the building. Goodbye all.

I want to say while I don't really mind the signs...I DO agree that NOBODY should be FORCED to participate! ALWAYS ask about hugging/glomping people FIRST! I remember seeing one guy who would hug people on sight, WITHOUT anyone's permission! That is NOT cool and it makes people FEEL BAD! This Con is about FUN! So if you have a sign, USE COMMON COURTESY!

Next year, I'll just have a sign that says "No."

Simle as that. :3

- Drunks wandering in the con at 3am with no badges. Where was staff? o_o

Did you report them?  If you see someone violating the rules, please don't just stand by, watch, and wonder why no one is doing anything about it.  Report them to the nearest Rover.  If you cannot find a Rover, find a staff member and they will find you a Rover.

And sans the drunk part, as long as they were not trying to enter any of the halls or rooms that required badges (ie, gaming room, video rooms, etc), then they technically didn't have to have their badges on.

Also look around. Rovers and staff tend to stalk a target and wait for a less public area to speak to them.

Sat night, I saw 4 rovers, 2 ranking rovers, 2 division heads, SJCC facilities and 2 cops following a drunk guy at a distance. It was awesome

1: it was 3am. As freaking tired as I was, I couldn't tell if they were attendees or just drunk clubbers from some club.

2: They were in the gaming room, messing around and heckling. They were smoking and drinking tons of beer. It was amazing that they actually got past whoever was supposed to be watching the door.

3: I did let a staffer know. He didn't do anything.

What night was this? Was it a staffer or a Vol?

EARLY Monday morning. It was a staffer. That's all I remember.

it be nice to have a workshop for electronica Dance style.  something basic and short that people can add on to themselves when the real thing ges down.  Also get some of that ParaPara magic in there too, btw there were these 3 girls Sunday or Saturday night up front doing some ot that an it was crazy!  I'd do a work shop for that for sure so I can keep up with the ladies.

I would 100% attend that, straight up. I propose we get the ball rolling on this idea.

If you want another Eurobeat set, you know who to ask! :D

From a DJ point of view (I played the Eurobeat music Sunday night at the dance BTW :D)

The Good:

- Hilton! WILL be back there again!
- Mini schedule guide!
- Artists alley! I spent a lot of money in there!
- The cafe in the Hilton! Loved your boxed lunches!
- Guy selling those out of print tenchi muyo/el-hazard concept art books for $5!! FREAKING WIN!
- Seeing a dealer cuss out a stupid annoying fanboy troll. Made my day.
- STAGE ZERO. Nuff said.
- Seeing people play the Ninja game in the dealers room.
- The dance. That strobe was soo crazy!

The Bad:

- I only found water dispensers near the dance. Would be nice to have it spaced out all over the con.
- Dealers room seemed smaller than artists alley. Still had some nice things tho.
- Drunks wandering in the con at 3am with no badges. Where was staff? o_o

The Ignored:

- Hug line: I just kept walking.
- Crazies protesting about something... ehh...
- Solicitors with signs. At least my signs were ">.>", "^.^" and "<3"

Good year! I missed having cool weather during an anime con!

Special thanks to Rob Miles, DJ Reign and Strider Hanzo for their help!

I loved the electro/trance/eurobeat (and I loved that remixed Sailor Moon song and I thought I heard a bit of Kanye thrown in)

Sounds like that was from my Saturday and Sunday set. I'll post the tracks I played Saturday and Sunday soon!

A spin off of the "song titles" game: "meme titles"

Improving a scene all done in memes.

example: shopping at the mall with your mom

person a (child): DO WANT!
person b (mom): This is why we can't have nice things!
a: ZOMG TORRENT PLZ!!
b: no wai!
a: ya wai!
b: you gonna get BANNED!
a: lol wut?
b dat ***!

and so on...

Money that I'm bringing is straight from the casinos. They do not take fake bills lightly AT ALL.  :)

Has Reign listed a list of confirmed DJs? I emailed the proper channels, and got nore reply. I feel like I have been ignored...

It's ok, I and others from the production crew I work with was asking Reign if he wanted to cut his costs on equipment and use our complete audio/video system for free but we haven't gotten any responses either. *Waves signed contract* we sent it back, what's the deal??
Wait...You sent it back?  Who did you send it to?  I never got it.  I thought you guys pulled out or something...Send me a message ASAP!!!!!

And to answer some of the questions, Dance will be EVERY night starting on Thursday.  Just bare with me guys while I try to finalize schedules and other loose ends before con.  It will be a good show nonetheless, so don't worry.  :)

:) It's (almost) GO TIME!!!
