Video Programming / Midnight Madness 2012 - Feedback thread
« on: June 01, 2012, 04:35:52 PM »
I'm the guy who ran Midnight Madness on Friday evening. I'm interested in any feedback people have. So far, I've gathered this much:

"Freeman's Mind" was a hit
"Robotech - How drugs won the war" was NOT a hit

Anything you'd like to see for next year?

Contest Awards

Awards/Categories

Contest Director's Pick (Chosen by Contest Director)
Audience's pick (Chosen by Audience) :
The Audience's Pick will be chosen based auditory voting of attendees present. If the Contest Director determines there is not a clear winner based on auditory voting, the prize will be split between the two entries that received the most votes as determined by the Contest Director.

Special for 2012 - Best use of Tentacles (Chosen by Contest Director):
The people demanded it, so we will try to deliver! In order to encourage more tentacles, a special prize may be awarded to the entry deemed by the contest director that has the best use of tentacles. This prize is outside of the two above prizes, so it is possible to win this in addition to above prizes.

Panels and Workshops / Cthulhu for President 2012 - The Campaign rolls on!
« on: February 10, 2012, 10:55:57 AM »
In the grandiose (and arrogant) assumption that the Cthulhu for President panel will be approved for Fanime 2012, I would like to open up this thread for people to ask questions that they would like to have answered by the campaign.

I'm also curious to see if anyone is interested in another panel idea the campaign has: Cthulhu's guide to Politics. Anyone think that might be interesting, especially since it is an election year?

Staff & Volunteers / Suggestion for FanimeCon Staffing
« on: June 06, 2011, 09:18:07 PM »
A few days ago, an idea came into my head.

A lot of company websites have a location where you can post your resume and the company will compare it to opening that they have and see if there is a match.

Has FanimeCon ever considered something similar? Not a resume exactly, but some kind of setup where people who are interested in joining staff can post skills and interests that they have? The forums are a bit too much a of a public place, so something more private might be better.

Doing something like this shortly after the 2011 con might be a good idea for getting more staff for next year since people are still thinking about FanimeCon.

25
Once again, the Cthulhu for President campaign is coming to Fanime!

Despite my strongest objections, I have tasked with asking you, the teeming unwashed masses, what you would like to learn from the campaign this year. So feel free to submit your questions to be answered by the campaign this year.

Or don't.

26
I'm a little bit curious, since I might be arranging to show a movie or two for the people there.
