I've seen and heard about a bunch of "likely" and "preferred' times for the GU Gathering but have we decided on an exact time yet? and I'm just throwing in that I'm actually up for it to be held at anytime.

10:30 a.m, Sunday. That's the confirmed date and time.

Don't you mean Saturday @ 10:30 AM?

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to withdraw, along with my friend.

EDIT: Gomen.

Thanks, that was very enjoyable.

Possible idea.  Thursday dinner (day zero)...something to do other than pick up pre-reg badge and swap meet.  Toast off to a kick ass fanime 2009?

(I know a lot of restaurants close, particularly on Sunday...[I'm thinking Japantown])
A lot of people drive/fly Monday morning so that's out of the question.

My question, what kind of dinners are people imagining?  Formal/informal? Proper dinner or just really good food?  Of course, we're always leaning towards the less expensive meal, should we cap it at $20?  Ambiance should be somewhere we can talk and introduce ourselves (dur).

I'm a student at SJSU, but I mainly know fast food eat outs.  Anyone with a better idea of SJ nightlife, feel free to steer us way.

If I were to go to this dinner, I would also prefer that it be 21+

That does not mean that all of us over 21 would drink, just that if one of us were in the mood to have a few drinks, we could.  Legally.  But aside from the whole alcohol issue, I would rather not spend an evening w/ HS students.  Thanks.

I see a time on the first post, but I see no date???

Never heard of SSF2 Turbo on the DC...

EDIT: just checked the net.  Apparently there is an import for it.  I would like to know someone how actually has it.

Dealers can do that? 0.o

Yes, it's all part of the game.  Last year I asked the dealer how much he wanted for an Asuka figure.  His price was about $5 higher than what I expected.  I returned the next day and saw a sticker w/ my intended price.  I then bought it.  But it can work both ways.

Just don't piss them off.  Also last year some buyer went crazy all called the dealer something he shouldn't have for changing the price on an item.  The dealer got offended and threatened to kick the guy out of the Con.

GokuMew2: those Lamento figures are really cool.  I bought my Rai figure last year w/o knowing what series (actually game) he came from.  It cost about $35 fyi.

A few things come to mind, many already listed by people.

Having your character called from across the Con by a stranger you don't even know.
Being surrounded by your hobby and people who love it equally as much
Asian cinema.  I srsly cannot get enough of it (dark room, big screen, loud sound) ooh yar
Walking around with your merchandise (feeling good about owning that awesome thing)

and because that it happens only once a year (I'm not really a multiple con going),
it makes it even more unique and fascinating time.

Is pc-gaming actually official this year?

(on the other hand)
SFIII: 3rd strike plz.

Registration / Re: Can you get into Fanime W/O a badge?

Yes, you can get into fanime without a badge.

However, you will not be able to get into:
-Dealer's Hall
-Artist Gallery

something like that...

Dealers Room / Re: How much $ should I take?

Granted that someone figures out how much each item will exactly cost, there are many other factors that will go into how much you spend.  Namely, the one that provides you with energy, food.  And of course, there are a lot of opinions.  Therefore, I give you this:,10753.0.html (Sample budget 3.0)

Gundam model(s).  Kind of not sure at this point, perhaps a PVC figure would substitute.

Poster (i'm gonna spend a lot of time in the dealers room sifting through poster catalogues).
Hikaru No Go manga, only at a discounted price (SUPER).
Key chain (something not childish)
Patsy's gift

That's it for now.

I think many people are on the same boat for cosplay progress.  That's why we have several months to finish!

If possible, can someone post the definite time and date of this meeting.

EDIT: I will be attending.

To add onto what Mizuki said, make sure you computer can support the game.  I found out first hand that with my com, I can only lessen the lag, not get rid of it.  That being said, I need to upgrade my laptop.  If I can't do that, its time to put the game on the shelf... boo hoo.

Kurogane - Tsubasa Chronicles (Movie Ver.)

I just bought myself a copy a few nights ago.  I'm a PC gamer though, is it possible to play with the Xbox people?  Anyway, I'm excited.  Woohoo!
