Staff for a minor?

I'm completely lost with so many posts  ??? But I was wondering if it's possible for me to become part of staff even though I'm 17? Do I need a legal ID to join staff? Sorry if its a obvious question but I really don't know.  :-[

unfortunately due to liability issues I dont think we can take in staff members under the age of 18.

Staff positions are usually 18+ preferred with little to no exceptions. sorry. [unless otherwise corrected by Fanime HR staff member]

However- I believe we are allowed to take in Volunteers under the age of 18 [with signed parental consent form] so you may want to e-mail:

actually, I believe that most staff positions are 16+. Rovers and tech require you to be 18, but some department heads may prefer 18+ too. However, you do need a ID that meets certain requirements that I am unsure of to pick up your staff badge and serve on staff.

As Jerry mentioned, volunteers are also open to you.

We generally don't allow persons under 16 to staff or volunteer.

We do allow minors to volunteer or staff. For staff, minors are rare and are typically approved on a case-by-case basis. Most departments require you to be 18 or over - and some require you to be over 21.

In any case, all minors have to bring in a waiver form signed by their parent or guardian. Government-issued ID - driver's license, state ID, passport, etc. - is required as well.

i would like to join as well, im only 15, but i pass as 18, i mean everyone thinks i look18, and it looks like a lot of fun. hmm i email them and see what they say.

again just because your 18 or look 18 doesnt mean you'll get a staff position. Again we are looking for some responsible qualifications here. remember its not about the "fun" persay, theres ALOT of hard work and dedication behind the scenes to make this convention work for everyone who enjoys it.  please keep that in mind. :)


again my recommendation is e-mail the department your interested in and it will be a case by case basis.

haha, no its not that, there's nothing wrong with kid life, im just the type who like having more responsibility. I mean i understand that its very rare to accept minors and im used to hard work,i always have fun no matter what i do. I just sent an email to both staff and volunteers just in case. Im very dedicated, im pretty sure if i can handle lead roles in musicals and plays(memorizing and blocking withing 2 weeks) while maintaining a club as the president and keeping up at least a 3.8 GPA, i think i can handle this. im not trying to be cocky, im just saying. Anyways thank you for telling me the emails of the staff/volunteers.

While you don't have to pay taxes and hit the 9-5 grind, enjoy it. There is plenty of life and being old ahead of you, enjoy what you have now:)
