He can get AIDS if he bites to many people!

If one of them has AIDS and he draws blood, there is a risk. But just gently/bruise biting people who are healthy is fine.

He isn't drawing blood and even if he were, i would have to make it's way into his bloodstream. Theres more of a risk to the person he's biting because if the bacteria from his spit gets into a wound you can get a nasty infection. I think he's aware of this.

So last year, in 2007, I met this guy who randomly came up and bit me. I saw him again this year and got a picture and we talked for a bit.. got a few more bites.. but I don't even know his name and I probably won't until next year. Does anyone know him? I've been trying pretty hard just trying to find out who he is and I've had no luck yet.

I just want to bite him back :[

yeah they can, they have a greater risk of getting AIDs from biting so many people. They just aren't affected by by it because they're already dead, lol.

Because, AIDS is a retro-virus that cuts itself into DNA and lies dormant. Some virus may be lytic at one time or other if it senses the cells being stressed, and so it pops the cell and spews a bunch of AIDS virus throughout the bloodstream.  Infecting more cells, thus making it worse. When the virus is in its Retro-active state however, its nigh impossible to tell. (thats why we test by T-cell count, because we can't see the virus at all. no matter if its in the DNA or running Amok)

BUT! Vampires don't age, but they do heal. Meaning one of two things; First, that time has no affect on the cellular lifespan of a vampire's organism, and secondly, The only time the cells divide is when the vampire is wounded. So, if we wanted to GIVE AIDS to a vampire, you'd have to cut him and put the AIDS into his blood while he's healing. But because the rest of the vampire is in that dead-dormant state, it wouldn't go Lytic; unless you wounded him again in the exact same spot.

Thus, if we're worrying about him giving anyone aids, some OTHER AIDS ridden person would have to bite him in the mouth, and everyone else would have to bite him in that exact same place to get the virus. Of course, Hilarity must ensue after that.

Vampires are Undead.

Here is a Vampire, in D&D terms.
Here is the Undead Type description.

Sense they are Undead, they are not effected by disease, nor do they have actually living blood anymore, at the very least is does not function the way blood does.

:P I'm highly amused by this thread.  I was just going to lurk, but i was also bitten. 

And I agree with Kev, Vampires can't get AIDS, diabetes II, or drunk from the respective blood because they're dead.  This also applies in Vampire: The Masquerade.
