. . . why is it that ONLY when my internet BREAKS DOWN do people post?? DDx

As for SJSU, if we used the parking lot, we'd be on the upper floors, where NO ONE goes D: Why park on the top floors if you can just park on the ground floor? Besides, no one really looks up from the ground floor, either, so chances are that no one would even SEE us there at all.

I would post more..but I have few things to say that are related to D Gray Man..or even California.

So I just sit here in the corner and observe..and bitch about being  stuck in the corner observing.

I can say, however than I really freakin pissed as it looks like I will have no Kanda costume for even Kumoricon.

I WANTED it for Sakura con, but was understanding that it was short notice.

Fanime..I was annoyed but not surprised.

He said " Oh yea I could maybe have it for ready for the parade. ( two weeks ago) and DEFINITELY Kumori."
HAS NOT EVEN STARTED ON IT YET!

If he does not get it started by Kumoricon I swear to god I am going to bust his ass.

....continue. ^^

D: your commissioner sounds.. very unrealiable/a person I want to make sure to stay clear of >>;;

And XD that's okay! General chat keeps this thread up and I think the on topic nature of it only matters if the person in charge of the thread cares.

yamaneko

Yes, we need as many hidden bump posts as possible >_> *SNEAKILY REVEALING THE "SECRET"* Most thread-makers / gathering-hosters don't really care, though xDD As long as their thread is noticeable (which ours definitely is) anyways

Your commissioner DOES sound like a pretty good procrastinator o.o Maybe even a little TOO good. . .

Besides x3;; it always helps to get to know all the cosplay/gathering people better right? C:

... and lol that's not quite a talent you'd want someone to possess....

I think there are too many sticked threads on the front page D: Also speaking of noticable our Gintama one is close to falling to page two xP

Charis

Speaking of procrastination ...

I need to get to work on my Miranda dress for Kcon.  T_T  Which means cutting the sleeves tomorrow and seeing how they work out, which probably means digging out the ironing board because the fabric's been sitting squished in a bag since last AX, and it's a linen/rayon, which i means WRINKLY AS ALL GET OUT after sitting in there all this time.  (It's still kind of awesome stuff.  I had to dye white fabric because I couldn't find enough black, and it looks all faded and worn.  XD )

Productivity, LOLwhut?

At least I have my clock key, even if I need to paint it.  The rust didn't come off nearly as well as I'd have liked.
2012 Plans:

Actually, he's my best friend. I feel a little ( just a little) bad for bitching about it because, no, I'm not paying him.

But what bugs me is that he keeps INSISTING he'll do it. If he doesn't want to, then he should tell me so I can get someone else to do it.

As far as general chat goes, I'm going to take this opportunity to bitch about a Kumoricon related issue.

At KC I was put in charge of the yaoi/yuri 18+ party.
The issue of bringing food came up.

I told them that outside food is not allowed. I'm just fine with this. Id end up being responsible for ensuring there was enough to go around, and for the mess afterwords.

The attendees got all pissed saying  but we NEED food! We're hypoglycemic! "
 I don't care.
I've walked out of the hospital after a kidney transplant to go to a convention without asking for any special freakin treatment and i survived ( I am immortal, but that's irrelevant)

I wanted to tell them 'go back and eat at your room if you get hungry"

The programming directer sent two of us private messages, usually something one does want they want to keep information, ya know, private.
In this message she basically said " No, you can't have food inside the convention area but if you do, I didn't see anything"

The other person went ahead and restated the Programming directer s words on the public forum and everyone started discussing what they were gonna bring. I asked them to delete all related material but could discuss it privately.

They all start up " OMG! Can we not have food? I'm mad!"  "Let's have a picnic outside!"

So I sent them PM's trying to explain it to them..still, STILL they discuss having a picnic ( after midnight) on the public forum.

* Starts pulling out hair* NOT that complicated! RAAAR!

This is why I hate being in charge, this is why I ESPECIALLY hate making exceptions to the rules.

yamaneko

^^; Which is why, in the end, I end up just bringing chocolate cake -^^- CHOCOLATE MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND. . . !! . . . or so I wish V.V

HA! I could imagine. We would have people protesting the war on Germany/Sweeden holding up signs that say " No blood for chocolate!"

Chocolate is okay once in a while but I don't really like cake or any kind of candy/dessert.

That's probably why I don't care that we can't have food. They'd only ring that kind of crap.

Hirotona

Ahh I see we have another not such a big fan of sweets around : O I as well am not espically partial to candies and chocolates and cakes.

I can handle semi-sweet's like sponge cake and cream but things like cup cakes and fruit flavored candies are just a disgusting to me.

You ever had that pink gum that comes with a lot of the anime trading cards? Oh god that crap is so sweet I'm surprised I didn't get diabetes!

Hirotona

Oh gawd fruit flavored candies > >;; Espically... cherry filled ones "shudders at the thought".

Anime trading cards bubble gum... haven't tried it but it sounds interesting.. xD;;

Speaking of trading cards on a tangential note anyone here recall pogs?

You don't want to, it's nasty.

Holy crap yes! I remember those! Damn that was a long time ago.

Hirotona

I just remember those were really popular when I was like.. in 2nd/3rd grade xD;; And then the pokemon card craze in 5/6th grade... which is what reminded me of pogs in the first place. But for the most part I played chess and video games with my older brother or just watched him play. Or read.... I've always been pretty fad resistant/skeptical.

The whole general food thing just reinforces the point to bring some/lots of fresh fruit for my hotel roommates to eat at Fanime. I'd never bring instant ramen or anything of the sort, I'd feel terrible bringing that kind of thing >>;; I don't even know if I'll allow other people to bring it... ugh the terribly greasy KFC and Pizza Hut my roommates ate this year > < I completely wasted twenty five dollars on groceries pretty much in other words.

I think I was in like..5th or 6th grade when POGs were popular. It wasn't too bad when they went out of style either. I sold them all for $40. That was a lot of money for me at the time.

Heh, I do the very same thing. I don't just hate sweets, I hate junk food of all kinds. I was really sick during the Bleach shoot this year because I wouldn't eat any of the crap my roommate had.

That's okay though, according to my friends they will bring decent food from now on. Apparently, I get REALLY bitchy when I don't feel well and they don't want to deal with that again. XD

Hirotona

I always wanted to stumble upon a shiny first edition charizard so I could sell it for a few hundred bucks xD

xD;; well I was out of the room most of the time and... well in general I had problems with my roommates and I was kind of docile about the whole thing >> In general I'm kind of non confrontational unless really pushed into it.

Charis

On the food subject: among my con staples are typically either a bag of pretzels or a loaf of wheat bread (or both) and peanut butter, along with some kind of nuts and occasionally dried fruit.  If it's a room with a fridge, cream cheese and things like pineapple or watermelon are nice; otherwise, apples FTW.  And if it's a con I'm driving to, I usually bring a big bottle of water -- my sister and I went through most of a 2.5 gallon one at Fanime last year.  I know I drink too much soda if I'm not paying attention, and tend to dehydrate.  (We brought homemade oatmeal cookies to Fanime also, and biscuits, and I took cookies to AX as well.)  I like having something sweet for occasional nibbling, whether it's fruit or good dark chocolate or the aforementioned cookies, and salty stuff is especially good for when you've been in too-hot areas all day and forget to eat, and peanut butter sandwiches go easily into baggies to get carried with you.

TL;DR.  I know congoers forget to eat, and I try to make sure me and mine don't.  (I suppose this is why I got nicknamed Captain Mom?  :D )

I got sleeves on my Miranda dress today.  They're not hemmed, but yay, quasi-progress!  I need to add the white collar and do the buttons up the back before I can hem the skirt, also ... gawd, I'm procrastinating so badly.  T_T  Have to get this done for Kumoricon at the end of the month, or my brother will probably disown me!  More sewing tomorrow ...

(I remember pogs.  That's about it.)

I was never into Pokemon.  I played YGO a lot though. My best friend got me into it. She literally would not let me leave until I agreed to learn.
We eventually become regulars at the card shop. Man those were the days ( 24 and reminiscing..how sad)

I'm pretty non confrontational too.
Rather, I hate to argue so I just let people know that " There will be no drama in my presence and violates will be kicked out/bitched at until they leave on their own accord."

I'm definitely one of those people who ah..doesn't take care of themselves at cons. I have the rest of the year to do so..I don't but it's a good excuse. XD

And yes, Cap'n Mom's peanut butter sammiches saved my ass.

I admit now that I don't like peanut butter, but it did keep me from fainting until we got to the Japanese place.

HA! I Just realized, in that way you will make an excellent Miranda! but oh wait.. I WONT be Kanda. * Rage*

Man I hate it when you can't delete your own posts. Dammit, I brought them into this thread and I can take them out.

Hirotona

I didn't have alot of say since I ended up not being the person who booked the room so there wasn't alot I could do > <;;

And xD peanutbutter and bread was one of the things I bought! I did end up eating alot of peanutbutter sandwhiches... I need to be alot more on top of everything next year. Cosplay wise, roommate wise, finance wise.

Yuu

I just don't bring any food at all.

a) I can eat when I get home

b) I would hate everything non-perishable anyway.

I just need to get my own room. There is no one I can stand to room with for an entire weekend, and I'm sure they feel the same towards me.  Aside from that.. I''m usually fairly well prepared.

My friend that I usually stay with miraculously does not annoy me. He just goes to bed really early and.. I actually feel bad that he has to up with my god awful temper. >_>
