Such a shame so many stores are closing. Even a bigger shame that the evils that are Gamestop and Wal-mart are not on that list.

Agreed, wal-mart puts alot of small buisnesses out of buisness, I live in a small ass town that has a wall-mart Im not suprised though since they want to make it a super center. I mean come on we have grocery stores and such =\ besides I read that women dont get any rights in that store when it comes to pay and promotions.
I like the small organic foods store, tea house, tiny pharmacys and my local supermarket kthx

And that's not getting into how they treat employees.  Wasn't it a few years ago that they lost in court when a bunch of employees sued them over forced unpaid overtime and other oh-so-wonderful practices?  Yeah, real class act there.  >:(

Walmart is an terribly organized cooperation, and above statements aren't far from the truth. They hire employees that don't know better/don't have much of a choice and force them to work overtime at illegal wages, sometimes getting paid with nothing at all and convincing immigrants that choose to work there that it's "normal". Employees aren't allowed to interact with each other, either-- unions are forbidden. They also purposely make their health-insurance unreasonably expensive, when already underpaying their employees, forcing them to go straight onto welfare.

And yes, they do destroy communities and small businesses-- they slap their locations around areas where smaller businesses cannot compare to their prices, forcing communities to shut down and go out of business. Walmart also closes down their stores without warning, leaving abandoned Walmart buildings that no one can rent out or use due to their sheer impractical size.

Not to mention, people often suffer from wearing shoes and clothing when harmful chemicals within them-- like the infamous pair of flower-print flip flops people report getting chemical burns from. Guess what? Went to Walmart a few months ago, and they're still in stock.

It was for employees working thru unpaid lunch breaks, and no keeping time clock records of the lunch breaks.

Mervyn's was notorious many years ago for having "Sales associates" work off the clock.

I honestly want to burn them to the ground, the infidels.

L3sli3_Lov3s_Chu

O_O; I was talking about the sales they have, not their work ethic.

And now you know the hidden costs of those good deals.  Not so good deals now, are they?

As much as I don't care for Walmart, I have a question.
What would happen to the USA economy if Walmart were to go out of business?

I'd imagine our econ would suffer a nice blow. Wal-mart is everywhere and brings in megaton money.
