Very specific question about skills in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

I just picked the game up recently and I'm curious.  There's this skill that you can buy for 3000 called Flourish.  What it does it cut down the damage a character does in half.  So if you hit with 22 you are now gonna hit with 11.  At first I thought it was retarded to make your character weaker.  Even if you were trying to up your potential for more exp, weapon lvl, disarm rates there are better ways to do it.

But now it got me thinking, if I equip flourish on Ike, will it still be active when I have to go toe to toe with uber tank Ike when I play as the puny Dawn Brigade?  Will I be able to kill my Ike?  a feat not even Ashnard could do?

You know... that's a very good question. >_>;;  I've never used the Flourish skill during any of my RD playthroughs, so I've never actually thought about that...  It's a good point!

My guess is that Flourish should still be active when you fight against him with Sothe and the others.  ...I mean, it's an equipped skill, right? XD;;  Still, that's just my guess; I've never actually tried it.  But hey, I've seen other skills activate in characters that I'm fighting against (Edward's "Wrath," for instance), so I'd say there's a good chance Flourish would still work.

...I must say, though, the image of the "mighty" Dawn Brigade bringing down the great General Ike amuses me. XD

Oh hell I just stole Jill from the Dawn Brigade.  She's like the backbone of their entire team, why is this even an option.

Turns out Flourish is one of those skills you have to actually use in battle, just like gambit.  The idea of the com using flourish against me is very unlikely.  thread end.
