Slow news is old cat.

I think I may be able to go this year, if work allows. I don't like this years line up to be honest, but eh, what're you gonna do.

otakuapprentice

And again, they have Marvel vs. Capcom 2..........*sigh*
Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

PyronIkari

You realize 3rd strike is older than MvC2 right? They still have that though.

They have Super Turbo every year(though this year it's HD Remix) and that's over a decade old.

MvC2 gets a lot of people and is one of the most entertaining games to watch. I don't see why they wouldn't bring it back? I'm more annoyed that ACore.

Yet I still see the same characters being picked literally all of the time; I agree, it is entertaining to watch, but so is Super Turbo/Alpha.

p.s. Fail for not getting BlazBlue.
Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

PyronIkari

Blazblue won't be out on console.

There are more characters chosen in MvC2 than there is in 3S in the top 8. 3S has Chun/Yun/Ken in top... always.

Alpha is one of the boringest things to watch in top level play. V-Sak V-Gouki and pretty much that's it. Occasionally you'll see something random, like a V-Sodom or something, but rarely ever will they make top 4.

In MvC2 you see, Cable, CapCom,Mags,Psylocke,Sentinel, Storm, Cyclops in top places.

So I still don't see your point at all.

Changing the subject a tad, I want to see Evo this year, but I don't want to fly out. If I fly out to Vegas, I'm not going to go watch everyone play fighting games :P Why can't they have live streaming video (or if they do, someone needs to inform me).

I do like their team match up rules though and I'm wondering if they're going to use any of the 'dip switch' changes for the tournament (I doubt it).

They did have streaming video last year, but it was very limited. The biggest issue is that there is too many matches going on at once and people complain about what match they want to see, from what game.

They're not going to use any dip switch changes this year. THEY MIGHT in future years if something becomes apparently broken, but as for now, it's in the game, it stays.

Mizuki

Yeah, line up sucks, but whatever, there's no choice really. Next year is going to be awesome sauce though.

Er, I meant Dip Switch changes within Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Super EX Plus Alpha: Reloaded. I didn't clarify. :X

Also, I didn't know about the streaming video, but yeah they would need a ton of bandwidth to broadcast all of the matches going on. Meh.

Why would they do that with STHD? They're using Remixed mode.

Rhornez

wait why Cable, CapCom,Mags,Psylocke,Sentinel, Storm, Cyclops is it because you can chain attack with them ?
anyways MvC2 is a good game imo i use either Wolverine Ryu Stryder-Hiryu or i alternate using akuma jin hayato but yeah i mostly win with my combination cause i use the characters who have good hit potential and combo speedyness like wolverine

Been going to Fanime Since 2008

Because Cable, Magnus, Psylocke, Sent, Storm, and a few others rule the game. Unless your name is VDO or Justin Wong you aren't doing anything with low tier characters.

... hate hate hate hate talking to people that don't know anything about fighting games, but talk like they do...

You can use that team against me, and I will use Cable/Sentinel/Captain Commando. Note, I hate this game, and I haven't played it in 3+ years. The last time I played this game was drunk against my friend who beat me 50/0.

And I guarantee I will still beat you.

Besides the fact that they have easy 100% combos, instant supers and moves that can be either high or low, cross over or not, and you have about a 1/4 second to decide which way to block against them, Sent has extra life and super armor.

So why? Because they're beter, compared to useless Hayato, Wolverine(who is slow by this games standards). and don't die in 1 combo like Strider.

The hell? I don't even know what you are talking about....

Have your Wolverine and whatever vs my Blackheart/Cable/Commando team =P or hell, even for fun my T.Bone/Sent/Juggy team =D

Man... I haven't played this game since Fanime 2008 when I went 20+ game winning streak. Too bad I still sucked back in 2008 compared to 2006 xD

I swear, I'm always one step below what I want. Example is when I go to Reno and play at Circus Circus. Damn I got raped so bad by one or two of their top players..-_-; (this was back in 2004)

Totally forgot about this topic. Anyways, it was fun, well not the event itself too much but hanging out was. There was a lot of disappointing things that happened though, such as ST 3 on 3 side event cancelled (poor Kuni came all the way just for that too I heard!) and STHD 5 on 5 turned out to be 3 on 3 and Norcal team was poor as piss. I think the best thing was just seeing Heartnana pummel everyone in Blazblue on the big screen. It was pretty much hanging out with all my friends from east coast, and finally meeting Heartnana after talking with him so long on IRC. From hanging out at TGIF every night to playing random ass fighting games, it was the best Evo for me.

p.s. if the DVD's have someone screaming at Sanchez's 3s final match "Use stungun headbutt!" That's me.
